This is potentially a dangerous time. People on this forum could see, and lose, life changing fortunes. Have a plan motherfuckers and stick to it. If you don’t have a plan now, make one now and write it down and then execute it. Your plan needs to include the possibility that Bitcoin goes beyond levels you have dreamed about - don’t sell yourself short.
Not a bad idea: I always recommend writing down lines one will not cross when starting a new venture. That way when you get into the thick of it and start having the "normalization of deviance" errors you can look at the paper and decide if really "this time it's different". I got into bitcoin because I saw a system whereby one could receive payments from anyone in the world for services rendered. No local money changers, no real wire fees, chargebacks, days to clear a transaction. I built a little business on this very model and hopefully helped others and the bitcoin ecosystem. I didn't really get into it to turn it all into fiat, my belief was the business would have to pay for itself (thus I paid for supplies and such in fiat cashed coin) with the rest being kind of like the gold in Galt's Gulch. Where similar minded people could trade bitcoins as a proxy for services totally independent of the "real world money". I also liked that no one could fuck with the value by printing more coins or reversing transactions on a whim. This is why I believe Ethereum is poison (that stunt they did with the DAO showed what they really are) and why I still hold some ETC (because although a totally different thing from Bitcoin it's still a neat concept). Never got into it to hide wealth from TPTB or avoid taxes. Taxes are the cost of living in a civilized society and I personally find it to be an excellent investment. Better investment than yet more .50 cal firearms and flamethrowers. Now.... Well if bitcoin becomes regulated to the point where you need to go through a "money transfer broker" to move funds, where private ownership is outlawed, where you get a scrip for dollars and your real bitcoin can be "lent out to increase the supply", where your transactions can be reversed at the whim of a Govt official, then Bitcoin will no longer be what I believed it to be. That's a line I don't think I will cross no matter how much it is "worth" Because at that point it ceases to be a real and objective unit of value and is just more shitty fiat which will be manipulated by TPTB for the "common good". Fuck that.

Wait, Vegas has bitcoin ATM machines? They must look like slot machines with all those 0's and someone thought they hit the jackpot when they were trying to buy some btc.
I remember using one of the first ATMs while I was in Vegas that spat out money for bitcoin. I met another coiner there for lunch and to check it out. Reasonable spread, I think we took out $800, bought lunch at the Burger Bar, then put the rest of the $$$ back in. But it did point out to me why Bitcoin would never work to pay hookers. Waiting 20 minutes for 2 confirmations was a lifetime. Having to stare at a hooker after the fun was over for that long and make small talk would just be hell on earth. That's when I discovered Litecoin. :-)

It's official now That reminds me. Finally Adam gets his $32k.. but the fuck got distracted into BIG-blocker nonsense.. so hopefully he did not sell too many of his bitcoin because of those misguided thinkenings - which I suspect that he did..,. he might be another version of mindrust - in the sense that it seems that he is on the right page for such a long time, and then all of a sudden just falls of the deep end and let's his emotion (and maybe lack of clear thinking) get in the way of making the right choices.

Don't want to sound like a completely drunk, degenerate Bitcorn guy right now, but as I've previously stated, giving the S2F projections becoming realized, I do not ever plan to expend another 300 BTC in this lifetime. Everything else will be wrapped up into the estate to pass onto the nieces and nephews. If we're going to drill down into that further, I recognize Rick and I should move funds into an "Estate Wallet", and start dealing with the logistics of that; not something I'm particularly looking forward to. Can't reconcile yet giving other people, beyond Rick, any keys/passwords for Corn hodlings.

My wife who battled Covid for 65 days before she cleared the infection did a lot of kneeling downward dog. while I struck her along her back. What a degenerate bitcoiner. You can't stop drawing TA lines approximating your poor wife's back even when she's doing yoga. Seriously, glad she came out of it. Be safe, both of you! Thank you . Last 368 days have been crazy. My wife got sick New Years eve 2019. She is finally having improvement to her covid-19 damaged lungs last 60-90 days or so.. And btc is fucking mooning all over the place. You know She was rehospitzed for second time Oct 2nd. They did some procedure Oct 6th BTC was 10,600 she has rallied steady since that date. Btc has also done really well since that date. cool. BTW the photo is a bing search I have no idea whom the person is in it. But that is a really good way to clear your lungs if the covid is fucking with you. I would be playing drum solos on her back for around 15 minutes 3x a day and a ton of stuff would come out.

Damn we rich, yo!
As always, corn exceeded everbody's expectations from $4000 to $30,000 in 7 months. Imagine how rich you will be if you hodl the majority of your coins 2 cycles later. Even if holding your coins might be necessary or a prudent thing for you, you seem to be presuming too much about the situations of various members. In other words, there are ways to shave off profits along the way, including that LFC has already been holding for a couple of cycles.. Sure, maybe he can tweak down or whatever, but at some point, it makes sense to be shaving off profits. By the way, I totally agree that it could take a couple of cycles for anyone to really be in a good place for selling.. but surely there is a lot of individual circumstance variation that needs to be accounted in order to figure how any HODLer should deal with and manage BTC price rises..,. and surely also a matter of how much has been accumulated over the years. Some people might have entered into bitcoin in their early 20s, and really have not even come close to reaching their higher levels of earning power, so how would have they have been able to stack sats without much of a cashflow.. so all of the factors need to be accounted before making too many blanket statements about what is going to work better for various peeps in this space. Can ore will you do that until 2030? I highly advice you and everybody here to do so!
Nonsense. We held out the bad years the rewards are life changing, it would be great if we can celebrate together the ride to a $1 million and above.
There are a lot of us who can sell a lot of coins and still have plenty of coins if the BTC price were to go to $1million, whether it is this cycle or one or two cycles down the road..,. presuming that it does at some point. Edit: I love how people here reaching their goals after years of hodling, keep'm coming! Sure ... some of us have found out that there might not even be a need to invest a high portion of your networth (or your quasi-liquid assets) in order to do quite well in bitcoin. By the way, in late 2014, I was considering cashing out some of my 401k and rolling it into bitcoin, and probably I would have been able to more than double my BTC stash. Even though that 401k has performed pathetic as fuck as compared to bitcoin, I am currently glad that I did not do it.. because it was not necessary in order to do quite well financially and psychologically. In other words, no need to let greed get in the way... and still do quite well - even with relatively modest investing into BTC..

Dunno. I felt richer in 2017. In 2021 the fork coins have no value (not that I own any any more) and XMR is on 75% discount relatively.
So you felt richer after BTC went from 700 -> 18,000 compared to 9000 -> 30,000? Seems right but that would mean it is downhill from here which doesn't seem to be the case. Do you remember when BTC was hitting $3000? How does that feeling compare to now? Exactamente, Wasted!!! It's like peeps need to be reminded continuously where we are at in the cycle.. like a need to get hit on the head a few times here and there just to attempt to knock some senses in their lil selfies.
