Many feel that this #Bitcoin  market cycle is accelerating faster than 2017. As things heat up it's instructive to look back at past cycles to see how on-chain metrics moved and get some context into our current trajectory.

Europeans scare easily? Weak hands?

This was a single sale -20% at the time when the price on other exchanges was -3%. The liquidity on kraken can't handle well big sells, this is well known. Besides, kraken trading freezes often during intense pumps. In such occasions it is possible some sell for example to go wrong ignoring the bids and chosing some bid -20%. It happened to me once in 2017, and to many others both on kraken and coinbase during these freezings.

Add Polo to that list

It was always recommended  to refresh before you do anything. Cos you might not be looking at the actual now price.

Surprise, surprise.
Just received a mail from Bittrex, that they successfully verified my Global account (KYC).
I have totally forgot about my application (no surprise, at least for me), don't even remember why i KYC'd at Bittrex anyway.  Roll Eyes

EDIT: Forgot the main thing, it must have been two years ago that i applied there.

Just wow! My current (unrealized) networth places me in the company of the 900 richest people in my country, according to the official statistics. I guess there are some more hodlers like me not counted by that statistic. Anyway, this is a good occasion to celebrate! Cheers mates! (I've emptied 2 champaigne bottles just celebrating the previous ATH's  Grin)

Getting a bit curious just which country your from

Obviously you not need to share it Smiley

I think he mentioned before it was a Central-Eastern European country (I could be wrong)?  Cool

Still alive, thanks so much to everyone for your replies and merits. Good advices given that will help me get through this.

You don't fully realise the seriousness of COVID-19 until you get it. I still don't actually know if what I have is COVID-19, but symptoms point to that direction... Should do a test to find out. Until now I'm confined at home with zero contact with others.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.

Sounds like covid. Hate to say this, but I believe in facing reality: Make sure someone has access to your coins. Reason being I have had two people in December die of COVID. Both felt terrible, went to hospital, felt much better in 2 days, talked to me on the phone about how it really sucked, it wasn't the flu and holy fuck what a nightmare including the shits. The next morning both were dead. They go fast after getting "better".

Please take care of yourself and watch this carefully. I hate seeing people die of this completely preventable shit.

I appreciate the post, although it's scary as hell. As I said, you don't fully appreciate the seriousness of the situation until it happens to you. My advice to all is to not get close to people not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. If the situation is such that there is pressure on you to talk or interact with them, just say NO. You may be wearing your mask and everything (as I was), but the issue is not you, it's the ones you come in contact with! So, stay SAFE, take it VERY seriously, and REFUSE to get close to those without proper protection.

On topic, I see we passed the 27k € ($34k) mark, which is just AWESOME! I saw one big but very brief dip, which was quickly absorbed by the buying pressure. It seems that any corrections (big or small) are quickly counteracted by pumps that bring the price back to its "slow" upward course. If we keep going like this, $100k should easily be reached in 2021. Actually, predictions talk about as high as $400k, but for me $100k as a correction-stabilized price for 2021 is more than satisfactory. I'm sure many of us WOers' lives will change when this happens.

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL

my grandma is 93. she has been a tarot fortuneteller for more than 50 years. this morning she called me and told me bitcoin was at $34k and that it will hit 80k before a significant pull back. this is unprecedented. in all those years that i am involved in bitcoin, she never made a price prediction. and she rarely ever calls me. (by the way: she will get her covid vaccine tomorrow)

caution! i dont know if she was referring to $ or € when she talked about 80k  Cheesy

Some impressive buying wall at kraken  Shocked

P.S. I admit I am completely lost now. Judging by all previous short term bull cycles, this should be a point when some sideways start. But it looks as if all this was just a warm up before something much bigger going to happen in the next few months: 60K may be, or even 100K?

Guys.. Haven’t you been in crypto very long?
This is what crypto does..

Get the fuck out of here.

You believe that we are talking about "crypto" in this thread?  Fuck that amorphous category of nonsense.

We are talking about bitcoin, and many of us could give less than two shits if some shitcoin happened to pump along with bitcoin or be oppositely correlated or have its own pumpening event... who cares...

Let's try to stay focused, at least and don't be using nonsense ambiguous terms in this thread.. because if we are mentioning any coins besides bitcoin in this thread, it should be for the purpose of denigrating them rather than trying to provide some kind of platform for them or to even imply that they might have some kind of equivalence to bitcoin - besides riding off of bitcoin's good will and security.

Yeah it’ll probably retrace, but the important part is that it cleared the books/cleared a path to where it is now..
The higher the path it clears the better.. I hope it spikes and clears the books to infinity even if it dumps back to 25k..

Seems like you are talking about bitcoin in this portion.. not some stupid-ass amorphous concept.. amInotrite?

Wipes all those old sell orders out of the books, so if/when it goes back down, it only needs to break the NEW orders to get back there..

How many new sell orders are happening vs buys? Upward buying pressure?
We are good dudes calm down..

Sure, upwards buying pressure seems to be continuing and ongoing in bitcoin.. and sure it is likely going to continue, until it stops.. I don't proclaim to have any kind of meaningful clue concerning when it might run out of steam.. and surely we have known since about $12k in early October that it could correct BIG and long at any time, and it really has not.. except for a few relatively minor corrections along the way since September/October.

Okay let not attack the other coins yeah I know you prefer BTC. I do prefer BTC.

But and it is a big  I am earning LTC DOGE ETH via mining along with BTC direct via mining.

Would  a prefer to  just be earning BTC and not have the other coins in my mining portfolio yes.
But as a business mining multiple algos with multiple sets of gear works.

Last year I earned 3x worth of mixed coins.

In dec I calculated my profits for the year. Realized they were too damn high. I purchased 20k in gear in December  and since I do sales all year long and file a schedule c with sales of all kinds of gear. adding 20k in gear increased my ending inventory.  Which in turn reduce my taxable income by 20k.

Most of the gear was pc components  to build gpu mining rigs. Which do not mine BTC this is a big part of my business model. Because it works.

Without shit coins I would be locked into buying and hodl and buy the dip.  Which I no long have the stainless steel titanium testicles to do.

Now for me my model allows me:
weak hands with Eth
okay hands with Doge
and strong hands with BTC

It allows lets every gaming freak with a decent pc/gpu get a better rig and get back coins while they sleep.

All that makes BTC better so please remember to thank the peon coins for their service to BTC.

He is sending out invites for some names of those who are pumping BTC's price (directly or indirectly) Saylor, pompliano, peter schiff and some other crypto youtubers. I don't think he is not allowing some to no join in on the day long stream. Except for Roger Ver. Cheesy
They are still shortlisting on their stream right now with 1000 viewers so far, they just started.
Maybe the price will hit $35,000 while streaming who knows.

You should purchase a 'Pulse Oximeter', they're cheap (like $20) and let you know if you're developing a case pneumonia long before you feel it. Displays the blood oxygen levels - if it goes to 90 or lower check into the hospital - you won't feel bad at this level with COVID but they will send an ambulance.

You don't want to become one of the 'happy hypoxia' victims - too late when they realise.

Google it.
