If btc is 1mil, 33k would look like a pimple on the chart.

Just like 2013's ATH does now or 2011's ATH did before that.

Let's hope that some day $1M looks like a pimple on the chart.

I do not have to pay income tax on my holdings, just 1-3%.

It's in your country law or what? So from your words, if you try to sell BTC you will be needed to pay only 1-3 %? Sounds pretty silly, especially in EU. Maybe in some offshore - yeah, true story, but not in EU. As i remember the only country with such opportunity is Germany, where if you hold btc more than one year you don't need to pay taxes on them.

Listen, I was just pulling your leg a little about paying taxes and being allowed to shoot your guns everywhere, valid points you made, but really, factually, you DO NOT have to pay any form of tax on your bitcoins or gains on bitcoins or cashing out of bitcoins here in The Netherlands OTHER THEN the taxes you pay on ALL your wealth that you have at the beginning of the year, and that tax is quite reasonable. So what i do is just screenshot my blocckfolio, then add that to the amount i have in stocks, in cash money (for example the amount I have saved up for maintenance on my house) and other monetary stuff (not the Ducati or the house itself), then pay taxes over that. First 30k no taxes, then up to 100k 0.54%, then 1.34% up to 1 million, anything above that 1.6%. Again, no taxes on any form of transactions, gains or losses or whatever.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.

Difficult to know what to say, AlcoHoDL.  I know that we are not supposed to get emotional through our interweb connections, but sometimes the reality of our humanness comes out through our posts including discussions of mortality and actual meat space energies that we might have or even find dwindling from time to time.

On a personal level, I have been trying to exercise every single day and to get out in the sun in regards to the vitamin D theories, but the information seems to be so varied out there in regards to the virus, whether we are talking about either preventatives (surely there is quite a bit of consensus in regards to wearing masks and social distancing), or what to do once you have it in regards if there might be some actions that might be better than other actions in terms of helping your body to help itself.

Oh surely, in regards to social distancing, it can be quite tough in terms of sometimes wanting to meet with certain people, and I am planning on meeting with a person this week who has way the fuck more social interactions than me.. so in some sense, I am taking a risk based on that person's more extensive social actions because I know that when I am interacting with that person it is likely that between the two of us, we are not going to be socially distancing (if you know what I mean?) - even if that person is engaging in way more precautions than me, I am not interacting with even close to as many people on a regular basis.

On topic, I see we passed the 27k € ($34k) mark, which is just AWESOME! I saw one big but very brief dip, which was quickly absorbed by the buying pressure. It seems that any corrections (big or small) are quickly counteracted by pumps that bring the price back to its "slow" upward course. If we keep going like this, $100k should easily be reached in 2021.

You fucking bear, AlcoHoDL.  Snap out of it.  You must be devolving into delusional.  #nohomo

Of course, we have no guarantees and $100k could be reached in January.. and surely that would be even more parabolic than we thought from $20k or this $30k location.

Actually, predictions talk about as high as $400k, but for me $100k as a correction-stabilized price for 2021 is more than satisfactory. I'm sure many of us WOers' lives will change when this happens.

Onwards & upwards!

HoDL

#humbled #blessed #sickpuppy

So yeah, now $100k correction-stable price is a different story than merely reaching $100k.. So likely you are kind of suggesting that the $100k could end up being in the ballpark of a correction bottom... and hey, I don't have any problems with that.  There has been a lot of toying around with quite a few variations on bullish theories that could end up playing out, including one of the theories being that assuming 70% to 85% dips that drag out for several months might end up being a bit too much, but surely if we were to go to $400k or a million within 6 months or even a year, then 70% to 85% start to seem like plausible and reasonable levels of subsequent BTC price performance.

So surely, part of where we might go upon a dippening does end up playing out as the next step after seeing how far and how fast the pumpening had taken us, including whether we end up seeing a kind of double top like in 2013 or  a single more gradual top like in 2017 or even some other kind of variation that might end up causing a bit of a new pattern.. just to keep us on our toes (so to speak).

Get well and strength to ur lil selfie, AlcoHoDL... #a_wee_bit_of_homo   Kiss

It is possible we get a second 2013.

Not a rise like in 2017 with small bumps on the way

but a massive run up, then a strong correction and shortly after that another massive run.

Why not, its cool for me.

Many feel that this #Bitcoin  market cycle is accelerating faster than 2017. As things heat up it's instructive to look back at past cycles to see how on-chain metrics moved and get some context into our current trajectory.

🧵with comparison charts 👇

Interesting thread

I agree, dude... that is an interesting thread.

It's good to look at the various variations within some of the metrics that are presented within that thread; however, ultimately, it seems that the punchline remains that the amount of variants between the earlier years is NOT really very great or significant in the whole scheme of things.  Sure we might be ahead of schedule, but in the end, does it really matter.. sometimes we might get ahead of schedule and then sometimes fall a bit behind or below schedule.. and in the end it is all within a kind of standard deviation of still being largely on track.. and whether the BTC prices conform to the model or maybe the model ends up getting adjusted a bit in order to conform with king daddy... ..

It's all good.. and nice to review some of the comparisons and the work done by others to make such comparisons.

[talking about supposed various benefits of fucking around with various shitcoins]

Hopefully, you can take that discussion somewhere else.  There are other threads for that, even on this forum.

my grandma is 93. she has been a tarot fortuneteller for more than 50 years. this morning she called me and told me bitcoin was at $34k and that it will hit 80k before a significant pull back. this is unprecedented. in all those years that i am involved in bitcoin, she never made a price prediction. and she rarely ever calls me. (by the way: she will get her covid vaccine tomorrow)

caution! i dont know if she was referring to $ or € when she talked about 80k  Cheesy

Dammit where is that guy who posted sort of a WO digest here? We need him now. I don't remember his name...

When I went looking for a birthday cake for my morning greeting that was the first that caught my eye but as soon as I saw the "C" word I took a pass and looked for another.

Still alive, thanks so much to everyone for your replies and merits. Good advices given that will help me get through this.

You don't fully realise the seriousness of COVID-19 until you get it. I still don't actually know if what I have is COVID-19, but symptoms point to that direction... Should do a test to find out. Until now I'm confined at home with zero contact with others.

Now on day 4 from onset of symptoms. By day 5-6, and if things get serious, I should be getting shortness of breath, at which point I should be admitted to hospital. If this does not happen, then it may be possible to fight this at home on my own. I hope so.
Take care, there is no point in having all that wealth if we do not have our health, do everything you can to get better, while I have not gotten covid myself a great deal of my family has since they are in the healthcare industry and they are exposed to the virus all the time, in fact two of them have covid now and they are very scared about it so I can only hope they are strong enough to overcome the disease.

Sounds like covid. Hate to say this, but I believe in facing reality: Make sure someone has access to your coins. Reason being I have had two people in December die of COVID. Both felt terrible, went to hospital, felt much better in 2 days, talked to me on the phone about how it really sucked, it wasn't the flu and holy fuck what a nightmare including the shits. The next morning both were dead. They go fast after getting "better".

Please take care of yourself and watch this carefully. I hate seeing people die of this completely preventable shit.
While this is anecdotal evidence and has no statistical validity this is my experience with the virus as well, two acquaintances of mine have already died because of covid and this is exactly what happened, they got better and it seemed as if everything was going to turn fine for them only to die suddenly, so once again take care and get better.

That's NOT how to do it, UnDerDoG81... but if you have at least a 4 year accumulating and holding timeline, it should all work out in the wash.. meaning that decent likelihood that any BTC that you buy at any particular point will be profitable at 4 years into the future.. yet at the same time, nothing is completely guaranteed in bitcoinlandia, as we all likely should realize such a thingie without having to say it (but I said it anywho)

OTHER THEN the taxes you pay on ALL your wealth that you have at the beginning of the year

yeah of course, and moreover, you don't find any my quote where i told other thing. My only assumption was about that in near future some taxes especially for bitcoin holders can appear. We will see it.

Regular income tax like as in tax on earned income from a job/employment..
Probably something like 18% ish.. Depends on how much you make really..

Just saying that I would file and pay tax on a BTC sale at the same time I would file my income taxes all in one bundle.. But they would be taxed separately..
Like, it wouldn’t be 15% ltcg + 18% income.. Just 15% on the sale, and around 18% on earned income separately..

That’s how it worked when I sold a bit in 2017 atleast, gave me audit insurance on it, haven’t heard a word about it since, so I guess it worked..

Understood. I'm just asking because you should know better what is in your country. But in many EU and USA there is "progressive" system of taxation. With different levels of taxation (in USA it's up to 30 %).

And this is all if we are talking about first world countries like USA or EU. In third world countries the prblem of taxation for bitcoin user is the least of all problems (for example, the main problem how to not lost all your bitcoins to corrupted police and government). My initial replica was more about this.
