@MMCrypto
1 #BITCOIN  IS NOW WORTH MORE THAN 1 KG GOLD!

Not if you include the completely ridiculous premium on gold rn.

And good luck even finding a kilo of gold in stock, anywhere.

Another reason that Bitcoin will beat PMs: bitcoin is available to be purchased (and sold) anytime, anywhere, 24/7/365.

Good luck getting change for a cup of coffee... That's going to be a BIG tip!

What's wrong with mainstream media ? Are they falsely reporting these opinion about bitcoin  Huh

What's wrong with them? A shorter answer would be what's right with them, especially the Clown News Network.
If their scrutinising of the current president was any softer they'd literally place him in a soft play area during questions.

Nice Sunday pump, heading back to ATH. 60K going to be revealed today?

Read the option thingy... But 5 million to be approved... This is a long long way for me.

As I understand it, 5 million for approval is only if you want to write options at different (not preset) strike prices. If you are OK with 25k, 50k, 75k etc, there's no need for approval as long as you post the collateral.

... this is the usual brain-dead, half-baked disinformation spin soundbite we all expect from MSM

... less than 1% of the population control the vast majority of the wealth.

... it's not what percentage are going to buy bitcoin but which percentage

... bitcoin is an extremely rare opportunity for people of modest means to take a slice of the future wealth, unfortunately it seems like very few will

... politcians are generally mediocre idiots

My small order filled on $52,700 now looking for other on $53,500 hopefully this will also filled.

If this filled then next is $60,000.  Smiley

I sold some at $52,1xx

I have more for sale at near $60,000.

These are my first ever significant fiat valued sells since I started buying in 2014.

Oh look $53,000 Smiley

You got a bit excited LFC, seems to me... but, hey whatever.

It could have been that you did not subscribe to the tentative theory that once BTC breaks above $50k, then it is likely to travel fairly easily into the $58k to $62.5k range.. but sure, once in the  $58k to $62.5k range, who is to say, and also even describing a relatively likely scenario (most likely scenario in comparison to other scenarios), that "most-likely scenario" might still ONLY have less than 40% odds and still end up NOT playing out even if it had the highest odds of any possible scenario then in consideration.

What i am always wonderin, when i read that you guys sell small amounts, i think: why?

At least in my history of trading, i always sold low and bought in high. So in the end i had less BTC.

Of course, selling low and buying high is NOT going to be a good system to follow if you would like to try to improve your financial status.

What makes you so confident to re-enter at a lower level?

Such a philosophy of wanting to buy back lower does not need to be a condition precedent for selling BTC... there are various ways to experience a decent amount of profits and to justify selling certain amounts of BTC along the way UPpity.. and such figuring of how much to sell does not need to be any kind of significant amount that is likely to cause you regret for having had sold.  If you feel that you might have regret for selling, then either you are selling too much or you are selling too early.  You should be able to figure out an amount and a price that does not cause such feelings of possible regret.

Or are you just that bitcoin rich, that it doesn't matter for your stash? Cheesy

There could be some of that going on, but also, it appears that you, ghandi, are considering the matter too much in terms of extremes, and such extremes are not necessary in order to justify selling some BTC on the way UPpity.

I will concede that in my own particular case, I had overinvested in BTC in 2015-ish.. and maybe even a bit after that, too.. so I have no trepidations in regards to having an ongoing plan and practice of selling BTC at various prices on the way up, whether it was my earliest sells around $250 or my later sales that were at higher prices at various points between $1k and $57k.. So in that sense I have no regrets for whatever BTC I actually did sell between $1k and $57k, even if the BTC price may well never go back below a decent number of the prices within that range..

For anyone considering selling covered calls, just keep in mind this could be a very expensive decision

There is an outside chance that Bitcoin could go to crazy number this year.  A $3.5k payment for giving away all the upside on a $200k sale in December 21 may not be a very good deal at all. It’s only a good deal if you are happy selling at $200k no matter what.  Because the price could be $500k at that time. In that scenario, you just lost $296.5k in value.

Of course, but could be a good idea if you are buying a ranch and need another mil or so  Cheesy.
Instead of selling, collect premium on 75-100K Dec. In the worst case-you sold at that 75 or 100 PLUS premium.
Still better than selling at 50ish.

at some point, long time ago I did some rudimentary stat analysis of that on this thread, don't want to try to find it.
basically, we did not significantly increase world millionaire numbers (since there are 46.80 mil or so world-wide).
0.104173/46.8=0.222%, which is stat insignificant.
BTC has to go up approx 20X (to 1.1 mil)  to bring our $ millionaire numbers to above 5% of the world's numbers where it would start to be significant-rough numbers.

More sophisticated calculation below says that for 2.5mil bitcoin $ millionaires to be in existence, btc has to be at $781,250 (and you have to hold 1.28 btc).

Going to be a LOT of posts today if we do ... Cheesy

$53,500!

not complaining, that for sure!... enjoying this!

I am having a feeling that we might be stalled... (another way of saying "stuck")... Cry Cry Cry   At the top of the range, if that makes any fucking sense?

Anyone agree?  Biodom?

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

So now we're going to play tease with 55 for a while I guess.

These people who sell are always a step ahead. After 8 years of hodling I was ready to sell my first small amount BTC (not the one I bought Oct 2020) at $59444. And they knew many people will sell at 59k ish so they started the sell off at 57k  Roll Eyes Now I will rethink if I sell below $99k  Cool

How about don't sell at all. At these price levels, there are ways to make an income of 10s of thousands USD a month on your exsisting stash without selling. This applies to stashes under 10 BTC too. Life is good at these levels.

That shock from the 2017/18 bull run dump still sits very deep. Even though the 2013/14 dump was bad as well, 2017/18 was a real shock. Taking profits in case of a surprising dump is not bad. I know we will pass 100k. But I believe we will see a bigger dump before we pass 60k. If 2013 cycle repeats the real run will be in the end of the year. And between March until end of summer it could be bearish. At the end, we are all just speculating. Some are good at it and some not.

Edit: I am also curious about that income you talking about.

I honestly understand, especially if you need money to buy a home or other need. My point really is that you shouldn't sell to buy a lambo or any stupid shit like that.

How about elaborating on that a little more, somac.?  Wink ELI5...

Ways to make an income from your current stash:

1. Lend your coins. celsius.network etc
2. Sell BTC futures
3. Sell BTC covered calls

Take your pick on which works best. And yes for some of those things you may have to deliver but, you are in it for the income, just buy the BTC back, even if it is at a higher a price, rinse and repeat.

Hint: covered calls are a great way to sell you BTC, rather than the traditional sell at certain price point on normal exchange.
Thank you for this, and for elaborating about covered calls.

I'm interested, but it stills feels too much of a gamble to make me feel comfortable. I need to do more research before I take any action in that field. Biodom, I'd like to thank you too. Very informative.

In the meantime, I opened up an account at BlockFi. Registration went smoothly. I just deposited a small sum of to see how this works out. I will keep you updated.

Anyway. Here is my thinking of that. Most of my trading is on a macro level, meaning my trades can take months to execute. If I can earn interest during those trades, should I take that risk and do my trades on BlockFi or any similar trading platform which provides interest? Food for thoughts.

"But gold is scarce"
Quote from: abc.net
An Australian researcher says there is enough gold buried deep within the Earth's core to cover the entire land surface of the planet to a depth of half a metre.
Lol

Yep and multiple asteroids are known to have huge deposits of gold.

So who is flying into outer space ? Musk
Who has spoken of mining asteroids? Musk
Who purchased 1.5 billion worth of BTC?Musk

Hint we  would could be seeing gold get devalued and btc  get super valued in the next ten years.

500k by 2030 = very possible.

Still I sold  small pieces of btc today at 54k and 55k.

I also stacked larger pieces of btc today

Why so bearish, Phillip?

You trying to be conservative on purpose?

Or you really believe what you are saying?

Sure, even if the top-side of this cycle is $100k, then $500k would be reasonably reachable by the end of the next cycle, absent some amazingly bearish happenings.. .so that should reasonably convert your 9 year estimate into bitcoin's $500k-ish price to a 5 year one, no?

Maybe you do not believe in the 4 year fractal?  you believe BTC is going to deviate from that?  Maybe you do not believe in stock to flow (which also incorporates the 4-year fractal)?  or maybe you do not believe in exponential s-curve adoption based on metcalfe principles and networking effects?  Which one(s) you not believe in?  Any?  All?  you have some other model that you are using?  A kind of diminishing returns with later cycles.. less volatility and so therefore less upside and longer waves?  Most of those other models are nonsense by the way.. even if there is frequently going to be logic in any model (even the wrong ones)  but whatever.

New Poll: Who should we clone?

Hal Finney
Hitler
Bill Gates
El_Duderino

Damn why am I in the same list as Hitler?  Huh Undecided

hahahahaha

You believe in people having options, don't you?   Tongue Tongue
