Shorting bitcoin right now:

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Modern peeps do not absorb media at 1x anymore. Snap out of it, AlcoHoDL!!!!! Modernize ur lil selfie. You will thank me later. Noooo. Quality (which apparently this wasn't) is worth taking the time for. By the way, I did a quick glance at some default fees and at the time of this post, they are around 50 sats per byte for regular (maybe around $6 for a transaction without very many inputs) and 70 sats per byte for priority (maybe around $12), and of course if you are dealing with a stranger you may well want to use priority, but if you are dealing with yourself, you could cut regular in half.. which would be around $3.. so surely those are not outrageous for transactions of a few hundred dollars, but surely could be cost prohibitive for smaller transactions... and large transactions over $1k might feel that they are getting a deal, so yes, higher fees do seem to incentivize larger transactions on the main chain... and we could anticipate that the transaction costs are likely to continue to go up on the main chain, especially during more busy times, including when there may well be a lot of excitement about price that might be causing some additional on-chain transactions.
I always check here if possible. Some wallets are still making fairly retarded suggestions. https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/Fees for a semi-reasonable first transaction time (about an hour) are currently around 88 sat/byte. I've found that going lower can actually lead to much longer than advertised wait times. Not sure why but I'm guessing that some transactions get boosted even at lower fees and skew the results. Bear in mind that some transaction processors will cancel your transaction if it takes too long to complete. And then your bitcoin transaction might complete anyway so now you have a customer service interaction to deal with.

Shorting in a BTC bull market like.....That should be the voices of the shorters, mocked by the pseudo shorter proudhoney. Obviously they do math(s) and science with that part of their head which is missing.

How many acres total now?
Getting up to near 140 acres now. I read a whole Wikipedia page and all I learnt is that you own 124 football field. Given the fact I have never saw a football field (as football is the wrong name for the wrong sport, over there), still, I don't know how much land you do own, but I guess it's a pretty big garden. Well done! Repeat after me : An acre is the area of a rectangle whose length is one furlong and whose width is one chain. You all need to turn in your Pink Floyd fan cards if you missed this reference. https://youtu.be/YR5ApYxkU-U?t=68

Today is the mindrust day. One year ago, on that evil day, mindrust panic sold all his 10BTC stash for $4000 - the average price he has bought his stash. He had twice that sum in fiat, but instead of buying at these incredibly cheap prices, he decided to buy USD, monero and other shitcoins. His ghost reportedly appears still on bitcointalk topics arguing that his decision was right. To him and others fallen comrades by the poison of Peter Schiff's kinda FUD, a minute of silence.
Happy mindrust day brethren! Hodl strong! I disagree with this way of thinking. All of us have to make our own financial decisions. Sure, his move was stupid but leave the poor guy alone. Everyone has the right to move on. Yup, can relate to this. Once, in the beginning of my BTC journey, I was overtaken by 'the fear' depicted by price, sold it all at a low and felt relieved not to endure the uncertainty any longer and I decided then never to return. Thankfully after my emotional self had calmed, I bought back with everything at a loss and spent the next year re-accumulating that loss by buying, not trading. Rarely in my life have I witnessed such fear and flight to safety. It was truly a invaluable learning experience which forged a much stronger HODL. I believe all bitcoiners pass though some personal version of this, especially early adopters. There is no shame for mindrust only a small missed opportunity. May he make his peace and feel welcomed to re-join the ranks.

AFAIR, mindrust was one of the on-fire type of guys in WO. He was all hodl, hodl, hodl and a permabull. Until that night... For example, if i would talk bullish about bitcoin to people all day, then sell at the capitulation bottom (typically signaling the start of a bull market), i would feel somewhat ashamed of myself. However, i also stopped using his nick as a metaphor for this kind of weakness.

Yet, somehow I feel totally fine with using the metaphor of getting 'roached'.

It has alot to do with health, most people living in pain for long enough are more than ready to die.
Chronic pain is surely a big issue but health is not necessarily directly correlated with that. I think my larger point stands. You are speaking like a person who has never experienced a certain level of chronic illness, poverty and ongoing suffering and struggles and ongoing deterioration over years and years and years - loss of energy might also be a kind of pain.. .. consider foggy thinking that comes with some of the conditions of screwed up systems, as well. It's not like everything is working, you are banging 10s and you just have pain.. . .you might not even be able to bang a 5 (meaning 5 fingers).. and that could be the easy stuff.. in terms of the basics, eating, eliminating, sleeping, exercise (is that even possible?).. coordinating how to eat.. and what kinds of foods can be eaten? steaks ? More likely chips and cravings for icecream (and not even the good quality icecream), which is not going to help energy levels to actually eat those substances that are imitating their lil selfies as if they were actually food..... Might not even be able to hang out on the forum - thinking too foggy, can't concentrate... and trying to figure out logistics related to "the basics".. oh and did I mention needing to clean up the living space or self (that's not really necessary, is it?) and how to pay for these things, no one really wants to help.. and surely getting a payment from someone might not even be doable because mostly there are just collectors, including the landlord who does not seem to want you either.. and how to get the food-like substances from where ever the closest mart might be to the place that you happen to be living, until the sheriff knocks. Have my last sMerit for this statement, Jay. You might know, i have been there already too. I had something like "Long Covid", just that it was "Long some-other-viral-infection". Actually, i still suffer consequences after 10 years. I quite look down on people downplaying chronic health conditions, like many looked down on me for "just being too lazy to work". And for chronic pain, most people suffering from it get their health slowly wrecked by painkillers and/or opiates/opioids slowly. I was lucky, because i found a remedy, quite by surprise. I experience fatigue and pain levels about 10-20% from what i used to, only my memory is lacking to get better accordingly, but i sense minor improvement in these areas as well. For the good, what i take in is not harmful to the body, for the bad, it seems to work only as long as i take it. Three to four days off it and muscle pain, fatigue, malaise and headache start creeping in again.

Are we in one of pseudo-stable periods for btc? It is possible, but honestly, I don't get the hesitation at 58K, it's a number of no clear significance. Maybe it harks back to the 53K number, which is a $1 tril market cap. Obviously, we are over that one, but not by much.
OT: It looks like NVAX vaccine is 96.4% effective in the UK trial. It will probably be approved soon. This is a more conventional vax, no mRNA in the composition. Overall, much better than AZ. I am not sure why they only tested in UK.
