That is it folks, we are observing the sunset of Bitcoin revolution. I think we could tell our future children about this massive experiment (i dont want to call it scam, because it was surely not planned to be one).
One more lesson for all of us, there are no easy money out of nowhere. You cant just "mine" 100 dollars overnight by doing nothing

Here's hoping BJA either sold a little on the spike or found something to hock.
If the posted bids down to 400.01 were dumped at market, they would buy up to 490.76
I closed my margin long @ $478 and took a good pounding. My biggest loss ever. Note to self: Never hold a margin position overnight. note to all : NEVER NEVER EVER TRADE ON MARGIN!!! jmho!!! I'll play the ignorant n00b card again... could you please explain what trading on a margin means? In my defense, it does say "Newbie" on the left http://www.investopedia.com/dictionary/ is a good resource. this means buying with borrowed money.

Date Registered: December 25, 2013 I don't think you mined $100 overnight Me not, but sure most people spending 1000's of Dollars for mining hardware did. Just look at people who bought packs of the brand new Gridseed, Now they can trow it away, useless I wonder what will happen to all those preorders, new mining hardware etc since the bitcoin diff is so high and price will go so low, you will never return money with your brand new miners.

Come on guys! 400 per bitcoin is amazing!
Hm. Well. As a seller making a profit that is. Fresh buyers not so much.
Down we go. People will get excited at double digits to low 100 range. Not 400.

If the goal of Chinese is to get money out of the country with bitcoin, then closing the exchanges should cause the RMB price to go up (and have a premium over USD/EUR). But if the goal is speculation, then it will go down.

I think there are only two likely possibilities at this point: price is either going to go a lot lower or it's going to stay low for a long time. I am a permabull no longer. Long term bull, yes, but the time frame is months or years. This could very well be a 2011 scenario.
Sure, whales could turn it around, but retail speculators don't have enough cash left and volume is too low for a rational call of a trend reversal. The double whammy of Gox and China compounded each other. This would be a great time to buy if small investors understood the technology and acted rationally, but I see no evidence that this is the case.
There may be an infinite supply of fiat, but I don't have it. I doubt any of you do either. Price will have to retreat to a point where it becomes attractive to new investors ot stay where it's at long enough to build a new base.

if you can't Deposit CNY then arbitrage is not possible
I suppose one can still take a valise full of banknotes to the exchange. However the bank probably will not allow the cash to be deposited into the exchange's account. So, if the exchange allows the arbitrager to buy coins with that cash, it may be unable to honor the withdrawals by the sellers. Unless the sellers go in person to the exchange to collect the cash. Unless there is a way to use the chaos elephant somehow to do that. Whatever.

Bitfinex interest rate being so high still is so concerning....
It's a bad indicator. There is very little USD volume that isn't at the variable rate. So a small change in demand has a disproportionate influence on the rate. So high demand isn't 0.22% interest - it is 0.5-1%.
