I really don't know what yo make of that tweet. So, I decided to ask here. How true is that because I believe next halving will be in 2024.

Source

What a moron. This guy is only good for TA in a bull market, with UpOnly analysis.

Reward-Drop ETA date: 03 May 2024

Source: https://www.bitcoinblockhalf.com/

(His broken source has already re-calculated back to 27 March 2024)
Oh dear! What inconsistency from that site. It has gone to April now. From March 27th, 2024 and then April 5th, 2024. Shouldn't that be a joke or is there something I ain't getting here?

The difficulty is recalculated about every 2 weeks, the hash rate is estimated every block or so, then they use those values to estimate the halving date. When blocks get solved faster more often, the estimated date moves closer or earlier.

As of this post, the ETA is back to May 2024. I wouldn't get too excited about the exact date as we won't really know for sure until about a few months before it is supposed to happen. It may happen earlier or later, usually earlier, but more than 4 months earlier is kind of stretching it. The bitcoin network will recalculate difficulty to adjust for increased hashrate, so estimates might move in 2 weeks, then it will try to normalize. The target will always be as close to May 2024, but nevermind the date or time, it's the block height.

All these count down websites still calculate based on the block height.

It's like saying, wait for 1 block or 1 confirmation, but that does not necessarily mean wait for 10 minutes; most of the time it will be close to 10 minutes, but we all know it can be 1 minute or 1 hour before the next block. The same with halving block. It's still going to be May 2024. April or March 2024? Possibly. But 2023? Very unlikely. Not impossible, but not likely.

*edit* My bad, clearly there were 2 different websites mentioned, one of them might be mistaken. Still, they just take data (difficulty, time between blocks, hash rate estimates) and try to calculate an estimate.

Russia President Vladimir Putin has signed a law banning digital payments across the nation, according to a policy amendment on Thursday.

here it is not explained whether Russia considers bitcoin as a cryptocurrency or not, it is still confusing Roll Eyes
Russia just said that.
Russia to start international trades with Bitcoin and crypto in 2023 .

However, this does not mean that the Russians will not take into consideration some centralized altcoin such as ETH, whose owner is of Russian origin, so maybe he will come to an agreement with mother Russia.

Nope. I realize the status quo in this thread is to shit on Ethereum, but Vitalik is staunchly anti-Putin, anti-idiotic war.

Agreed that Russia's announcements about Bitcoin will amount to a hill of beans.

Someone should design a MeritBot which determines which merit farmers are capable of demonstrating original thought by cross-checking the forum and Google for repeat content, and then award them with an appropriate amount of merits.

On the flipside, if a merit farmer writes 5 or more merit-less posts in a row, they should be excluded from the bot's consideration for the rest of eternity.

Yea....UNLESS..someone designs a 'MeritBot buster', and round round it goes (buster buster, etc), just like in this M. Wahlberg old movie, albeit with lots of cursing, sorry...and don't watch until the end Sad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VY_xxL2jL0

EDIT: FED did a number on stonks today-totally artificial, they just "want" it down to ease inflation.
Bitcoin just went down in sympathy for whatever reason WS managers sell it at the same time as they sell stonks.
Prediction: feds will cause deflation quite soon, and then would not know how to get rid of it.

I'm stacking some corn today.

I have problems with this thing on Twitter that keeps me wanting to stack. Quite the Bitcoin community over there.

Love those fucking retards.

It's incredibly frustrating actually.

So how about that mempool, huh?

Fuck.

I can answer that for him. Obviously here, where our Bitcoin family was created and will remain, even when Bitcoin finally becomes the global money.

In other news; down is the new up. Whats the FUD pushing the price down this time?
