remember not everyone has log charts enabled.. me thinks log was used to get the line that appears to touch all the tops fron nov to march

Yeah, forget to mention that. I used log, isn't that supposed to be a standard in bitcoin charting?

I'm always in log, but the default is linear on the site. That is why I mentioned it for all the newbies just lurking on all of us.

I've tried log but I find it distorts too much and you loose detail at the highs.
That said I tend to look at a 2 to 5 day window most of the time and only rarely look at month and longer ranges

http://newsbtc.com/2014/04/08/congressman-stockman-seeks-introduce-bill-congress-declaring-bitcoin-currency-property/ oh man politicians that might get it Cheesy

and log isn't distorting the the lines its better representing the amount of growth or decline experienced in short times.

Jorge already reviewed the third party audit [ of Bitstamp ] and declared it as useless.
Not useless at all. Like Roger Ver's  audit of MtGOX, and Neo&Bee's profit-only non-voting shares, it tells a lot about the sophistication and shrewdness of bitcoin investors.  Tongue

By the way, Neo&Bee shares were traded in two places: Havelock, a Panamanian unregistered "bitcoin securities" exchange, and LMB Holdings, that belonged to Neo&Bee CEO's himself.  The CEO is still missing and unreachable, and LMB Holdings site apparently has been shut down (perhaps because of the heartbleed bug?): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=529946.msg6122876#msg6122876

Yeah, forget to mention that. I used log, isn't that supposed to be a standard in bitcoin charting?

Log is usually appropriate, since price is not as important for trading as percentage variations.  In log scale, a 10% rise or fall will be a step of the same height, whether the price is 10$ or 10,000$.  If price climbs at a steady % rate per year (that is, exponenially, A*Q**t), it will be a straight line on a log plot.

On the other hand, certain phenomena are best modeled by a shifted exponential (A*Q**t + B), that will not look straight in a log scale plot.

For small percentage changes, log and linear will look almost the same.

Just drew it and it hit the tops all the way to mar 5 nothing broke out.

edit re read,

2nd top nov 29-30th top connected to Jan 6 has it cut through the march 4th point and then perform resistance on my chart as well.

I was connecting Nov top with Jan's top

Okay that makes much more sense thought I was going crazy for a second. This is the overall chart I'm mainly looking to at the moment which is showing a clear breaking of the December trend based on the Jan 6th top and clear resistance based on the March 4th top together forming a bearish channel that we have been stuck in for the best part of a month.

I see it more like this at the moment

10 bucks that's nothing, most of the real bears are expecting 400 and below. Were not drifting down there imo. The SSL glitch shows we're only fearing China lol

Anyone notice that now $458 is compared to Mt. Everest, by a Bull!  My estimate that $400 will hold is back up to 60%.

FWIW mine is 70%.

The  Bitcoin Foundation says this could lead to unrealistic reporting. Rep. Steve Stockman said that he is introducing this bill “to build awareness and create a consensus in the Bitcoin community around government regulation of virtual currencies… I don’t think anyone really has a flavor of what they want and I want to start the Bitcoin conversations.”

Looks like bter is accepting CNY deposits although Im not sure what the deposit screen said before it now says that RMB recharge mode is fixed and gives an address of bters bank. Strange ehy, getting an account just before the 'immenent' shutdown...

The thing weird about this message is that they write temporarily fixed. Personally if I was in charge of communications of an exchange and we had just fixed the problem forever and would have no info that there would be regulations coming I would communicate that it has been fixed forever.
Imo this looks like a way for them to allow people to withdraw their funds in such a way that the PBOC can have insight into the amount of money people have on the exchanges, before they  ban the whole thing.
