Quite the spike on the Grayscale news. It seems like they’re now going to be able to join the rest of the ETF applicants awaiting a decision on when they can go live. Whatever it took to get Bitcoin off the lows… The market feels like a powder keg right now just waiting for the all clear signal to blast off for the next bull run.

SEC Must Review Grayscale's ETF Bid After Previous Rejection, Appeals Court Rules

The Judge destroyed the SEC in today's judgement:

"The Commission’s unexplained discounting of the obvious financial and mathematical relationship between the spot and futures markets falls short of the standard for reasoned decision making."

The full decision is a slaughterfest of the SEC arguments, and requires a full review of Grayscale's application.



SEC options from here on out are:

1. Delay decision and come up with new fake reason
2. Concede and approve
3. Request en banc appeal of the case.

But given the grounds for the courts decision and the fact they repeatedly pointed out the failure of the Commission to back up any of its arguments an en banc appeal would be a terrible decision likely to just piss off the courts.

So its a big win.

Not easy to know if he might have any BTC or not...Presumptively he has enough BTC to consider that the equivalent of 0.05882353 BTC (in other words $10k at the price of $170k) would not be any meaningful skin off his back to give those over to an internet stranger.. unless maybe you and he might happen to be the same peep?  

I have dreamed for a long time that if I live I can own a lot of bitcoins one day but I think that somehow I don't know how to accumulate and earn a lot of bitcoins, but I dream that one day I will know and have a lot of bitcoins. I can own it.

What do you consider to be "a lot of BTC?"

It seems to me that you may well not need as many BTC as you might think that you need, and one of the things is to get the fuck started sooner rather than later... and sure even though stacking $100 per week seems like a decently good amount right now, yet even for peeps who don't have $100 per week for stacking, the they still likely witness decently good results, especially if they might have a relatively long investment timeline that might go 20-30 years or longer...

In 2043 or 2053, you may well be quite impressed by how many BTC you have relative to people who might have delayed their BTC stacking a lot more than you... and surely there are a lot of folks in the world who are either no coiners are low coiners.. perhaps more than 99% of the world's population.

I am quite likely not going to be holding my breath for any of this, even though I do see why some people are getting bored, and maybe they feel that they already accumulated enough BTC in these prices, which maybe it could be the case, but being more than $1k below the 200-week moving average (at $27,498 right now) does not seem to be a very healthy place in order to have a further break downwardly.. but hey, breaking down (if it is possible) might end up shaking some weak hands, if it does not end up recking some bearwhale twats prior to their ability to be able to buy back the coins that they had ended up selling in such desires to try to get the price of cornz to go downity rather than uppity or sideways.

Bitcoin has finally achieved $27k price mark once again! Soon it will reach $29k and again! Go Bitcoin go, you can reach that price mark easily.

At least the price is bumping, don't be surprised when it gets back to $25k or $26k again..

You are correct Sexylizzy that this recent price bump is not really very eventful, but I think that your presumptions that it is going to go back down to the lower ends of the "don't wake me up" zone is a bit overly optimistic (or overly pessimistic?) in terms of where we are at and where we might go .. including but not limited to the ongoing UPpity potential of king daddy. 

Hopefully you are not waiting to buy more BTC at lower prices and/r that you are not sufficiently prepared for UP, in case we don't get any further down before up... but who knows.. sure this could be a fakety fake... it was ONLY a $2k pop from $26k to $28k within about 2 hours, so sure it could correct back down.. but then again. maybe it won't?

A nice price jump surprise but I’m wondering if the mtgox disbursement is ever going to happen. Will it take the wind out of the ETF approval announcement when it happens? Are either of those events going to happen before the halving? This seems like the drama that won’t stop. Hopefully in the next 8 months we get all this behind us and can see how high this beast will climb.

It always locks on round numbers. Must be human psychology. Would be interesting to see the price lock at $26,450 for a change. Or, even better, lock at $264,500.

(Most) folks just tend to be drawn to simplicity.
I confess, me too. "Buy and hodl" is my favourite  

Back in the early days, I used to set limit prices based on the digits of Pi or other math constant. Like $314.159. It was fun to spot the transaction as it went through in the order book. Now I just do round numbers like the rest of us.

PS: This could even be an OPSEC issue I guess (but I bet there are many more OCD types out there)...

About a year ago, Bitstamp disallowed placing orders that use cents, and therefore we ONLY get round numbers and no decimal places with them.  Personally i don't like that decision of theirs.
