Always enjoy your telescope image posts bro. Great job.
My Orion 10” Dobsonian telescope had been sitting around for many years as I just
couldn’t be arsed to play with it anymore. As it was collecting dust and taking up
space, (instead of providing images of space) I recently donated the telescope, making sure the recipient promised me to put it to good use. He told me his nephew was totally into astronomy and would love it. I said it’s all yours then. (I trusted he wasn’t going to just sell it on EBay)
So now there’s the upcoming total solar eclipse this coming April across a swath of N.A and I got no telescope. Oh well, I remembered to stock up on eclipse glasses because last time (2017 solar eclipse) those things sold out weeks ahead of time.

Thanks. Compared to some of my astro comrades on the www, i'm really lazy, though. I could get much more detail and sharpness out of the night sky, but i need time for other things, too. There are remote setups for rent in absolutely dark areas, like deserts, but my countryside internet connection would make this quite a pain in the ass to download all the images (my only-12-megapixel camera is producing 23mb files, for example), while i can work at LAN speed at home and i don't need to write a support ticket to the tech team at the remote site if i need some things checked or done manually. The amount of money i put into this would be about the same, so you get fat telescopes, but they don't belong to you in the end. But then it's a point-and-shoot adventure, very comfortable.

However, observing the night sky indeed makes sense with dobsonians of 10"+ in size, they are also great value-for-money for starters, and there's nothing able to beat those biggies with their 3" eyepieces, while those aren't really cheap anymore. A mineral-glass filter for watching the sun without sverely burning your retina adds to the cost as well, but then the real fun begins.

Check some astro community sites, like the well known astrobin, to see stunning pics of the solar eclipse a few days after.
You'll find other amazing pics there, in the famous yellow-blueish Hubble color palette, which make mine probably look like an aged polaroid compared to the Siena-Award winner  Tongue

Mt. Gox trustee extends repayment deadline to October 2024.

Mt. Gox Rehabilitation Trustee has once again extended the deadline for repayments to its creditors.

The bankrupt crypto exchange has changed the deadline of the Base Repayment, the Early Lump-Sum Repayment and Intermediate Repayment from October 31, 2023 to October 31, 2024.

However, the latest update on Mt. Gox website notes that the rehabilitation creditors who have provided the Trustee with the necessary information will receive repayments in sequence as early as the end of this year.

Anyone remember Duke Nukem (3D)? I don't know why i always have to think about it when i hear about MtGox's rehab....  Cheesy

No Problema!!!!

I am both student and teacher, and I give myself a one-year extension to turn in my homework... and next year, I will do it again.

It does "seem" that they (referring MTGOX trustee.. don't kill me) are making progress, but geez, I thought that it was getting closed to being paid out in 2021.. so that would have been a bit more than 7 years, but now we are going on 10 years.. from the shut down of the site..  in February 2014.
