It took less than 3 months in 2017 to reach 20K starting below 4K. And then everyone knew CME and CBOE won't buy actual bitcoins. Now it is different. It is hard to predict what will happen in the next few months. It depends how quickly the main ETF buyers will adapt to the new opportunity to buy bitcoin ETF's. May be there will be a rush, may be not. And may be  some will be dissapointed by the slow start and dump their coins. But in the long run the supply shock will make the difference of course.

I wouldn't agree if everyone knew that fact, because if they did, such a massive FOMO wouldn't have been created. I think that the majority still lived in the delusion that the price would eventually reach much more than $20k, although realistically, even that price was a big surprise for those who understood a little better what was actually happening.

From everything I read on the forum, many members still do not understand the difference between futures BTC ETFs that already exist and the possible approval of spot ETFs in the US.

However, I think retail customers are definitely not in the same financial position as they were in 2017 given the inflation rates that have occurred since then. What I want to say is that the amount of money at their disposal is far less than before, and the price of Bitcoin itself plays a big role in all of this.

However, it is a big unknown how the market will accept spot BTC ETFs, because regardless of the fact that the market seems to really want it at the moment, theory and practice can often be completely different.

There should be no illusion. Bitcoin ETFs are made to control bitcoin price, not promote bitcoin.

The world bank oligopoly will try to control bitcoin price just like they control gold price. It'll be  done either by naked short sales of paper bitcoins  (contracts)  or by derivatives based on endless re-hypothecation of the existing bitcoins. They will have success as long as they have unlimited access to the US$ printing press and as long as US$ still hold some value. Fortunately, US$ value is evaporating fast and the end of the road for the world fiat system based on US$ is in site. We need just 2-3 years to hit it.

Lets hope people all over the world will be wise enough to not give any chance to the US warmongers to wage a war big enough so that the bankrupted financial elites can burn the accounting books.

Live your life, care about your loved ones, and a Happy New Year!

I remember Dec 2017, when Bitcoin touched $19,000 on Dec 19. There was speculation rather confirmation in the market that in 2018 price of Bitcoin will be 100$k but a year later we saw Bitcoin at 3500$ in Dec 2018. Bitcoin didn't even saw 19000$ in 2018.
Once again the situation is very much same. With ETF's and halving coming up next year, speculations are high about Bitcoin price in 2024. I do agree that we dont know what will happen immediately but in long run it will have an impact.

Happy New Year! From Sydney, Australia!

Happy new year from Pakistan.
Australia is now in 2024.
I am also still 5 hrs away from in 2024 finally.

Bangkok of the list
Koh phangan full moon party….
In 3 hours from now

Thailand's Full Moon Party is an epic beach party held on the island of Koh Phangan that attracts thousands of partygoers from around the world. The event grew from a small gathering of backpackers in the late 1980s to an internationally renowned sensation.

Picture from

An estimated 50,000 fireworks will be set off over 1,400 meters of iconic riverside landscape along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in the Thai capital of Bangkok tonight to usher in the New Year. This will be the longest firework display in Thailand's history.

Although I am not always active like you but I am not a new, I have learned a lot for more than 1 year, I want to learn more, so I want us all to discuss together and not get into any arguments with you.
Can I know the purpose of punching me?
I'm sorry I don't understand your question.
I didn't understand either and I didn't see any punching but just to reiterate the gentleman's rules of engagement here on the WO (in universally-understandable graphic format):

I think that Roger that got you guys on this one.

If Ambatman says, "Roger that," and then a guy name Roger says "why you punching me".. then there's gotta be a reason, no?

probably batman Roger (or perhaps batboy?) needs to slappening both ambatman and am homer... just for funzies.

Just saying...

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

@xhomerx10 Very well presented, I apologize for misunderstanding the point.

might I say "poor roger"..    Cry Cry Cry Cry

thanks @JayJuanGee say my new name I like this .  Grin Grin Grin

LedgerX (this company has nothing to do with the hardware wallet) is changing their working hours to "banker's hours" of 9:30am to 4pm, US Eastern time.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/18uepkx/another_reason_to_own_straight_bitcoin_ledgerx/

I guess they expect that most of their business would now (post ETF approval) come from the Wall Street entities.

For those outside of US-ledgerx is pretty much the only outfit where you can trade bitcoin options in US.
For the ROW, Deribit and others are available on a 24/7 basis, I assume.

For nifty traders this means a lot of profitable gaps in both directions (some would be for the ETFs as well, mind you).
When the underlying trades 24/7, but some derivative instrument (options and/or ETFs) trades only 6.5hr (27% of the time), large gaps are inevitable.
