Just roll the scroll-wheel.
yeah.. about that..
A clear case of JJG right there.
Protip: Some of you guys just need to up your mousie game
(also known as baby ratt).
Protip for the ones scrolling a lot: Trackballs.
EDIT: And if you're also pointing and klicking tons of times, use them left handed for scrolling . or right handed if you're a left-hander.
You can also map your mouse scrollwheel to something else than scrolling windows.
hahahahaha
I find it a wee bit funny that you are quoting the "protip" portion of my post, especially for the last couple of years, I have never meant to use the term "protip" in a completely literal way.. ..
I consider the use of "protip" to be a bit of a purposeful exaggeration..
I think that I heard "Joe Rogan," say something like that in one of his podcasts, and thereafter, I had continued to consider the use of "protip" as a kind of fun comment, rather a serious or a literal one.
Yeah, my "Protip" itself was meant as fun, directed at your use of the "Protip" word, while the content following was serious.
Nowadays, it seems to me that "Protip: ..." became some sort of a memetic introduction tagline (or something like that, which i don't know a better term for), or as you described it: a purposeful exaggeration.
Sometimes i got to use these keyboards integrated into video cutting workstations when i was working in the broadcasting area (decades ago), which had built-in trackballs for quickly navigating through content. And man, these were quick as hell. The best thing about them is that they are weighted (and heavy) so they spin on their own for a while after accelerating them.
Starting to believe that this is not the place for me anymore.
Even off-topics are not fun anymore.
WO turned into a cult with people what they want to hear.
Initial years where great thought.
Things are always gonna change.
Protip: Adapt.
For example, Bob used to post a lot of funny (and also sometimes garbage) stuff, besides serious posts, until he went through a personal change, which is just what happens in life, too. He adapted well, by still reading the WO, but shifting importance of WO community life to other topics. It's just about balancing priorities.
I'd recommend to just take it back a little, reading along, trying to (re-)discover the fun in these here parts again. And historically, at least as long as i am a member of this board, the WO was never a place of much fun when times were bearish or sideways. Somehow you have to live through that, ignore the trollz and beggars, just be yourself, engange only in conversations you'd see a benefit for you or the other participants and take things more lightly.
Your mind will likely try to draw your attention to your Ego's "this place doesn't fit me anymore" drama, but you gotta ignore this and remind yourself why you are actually here.
(For example: my occasional Astrophotography stuff
)
Seriously, it's like every other personal relationship, after intense times together, it needs time for ones self. But not so much in a switch-on/switch-off manner, but better trying to balance it.
Don't cut off your roots, baby
