My weapon of choice is the Philips 4347/94 Espresso Machine. Designed by Italian engineers.
Makes amazing regular coffee.
Worth. Every. Single. Penny. Paid.

My current DeLonghi machine is five years old, while every Philips/Saeco (2x) i had was beyond repair after three years.

Here's a cheap alternative, very Italian too, that never fails to make excellent coffee, situated somewhere halfway between espresso and americano. I suggest keeping one handy if you want coffee during a blackout.

The price she’s a ripping. Sadly I had to part with some BTC today to get myself a new shiny refrigerator, I mean truck. I don’t see myself selling any more until next Spring now. Maybe a little at $100K, but then I’m strapped in for the ride to the moon. I think sometime in the next 8-15 months we’re going to see an ATH that will melt faces.

Does anyone here also like 3D printers?

I made a Zangief (Street Fighter 6 version) , scale 1:10 on the resin printer. I still need to adjust the fit of the pieces and paint....

And also a Tyrannosaurus rex skull,  this was made on the FDM printer... I made this one for my daughter:

Really cool detail: it glows in the dark  Shocked

Same here, with one exception: drip coffee absolutely sucks, even with the best fresh ground beans and filtered water.

My weapon of choice is the Philips 4347/94 Espresso Machine. Designed by Italian engineers.

Makes amazing regular coffee.

Worth. Every. Single. Penny. Paid.

Agreed. I have one (one of the 3 series, I believe) I treated myself to a year ago and it's fantastic. Great coffee and less waste and it will have paid for itself over the pods I was buying by 2025. The only negative is the cleaning regimen and it's not really that bad.

I drink a lot of coffee every day, so I went through this whole evolutionary search process:

1. First was a Keurig fan, until I went through so many keurig pods in a day it got nauseating. Also all that plastic waste didn't sit well with me. Even tried filling a refillable keurig pod for a while, but then that got tedious with all the cleaning. The machines always start leaking eventually. And the coffee never tasted very good, even with fresh ground.

2. Then went on a search for the best drip machine. Went through many, even a few expensive ones. Never made great coffee. And the constant prep, buying filters, and cleaning sucked.

3. Bit the bullet and finally bought the Philips espresso machine. I've had it for over a year now. Best decision I ever made for coffee. Very little prep every day, but wow, makes amazing americano and espresso. Push a few buttons and done. And with bag beans I'm still coming out cheaper per cup than with drip machines.

Though at first I thought I had gotten a defective machine, because I didn't know that you are supposed to toss the first 3-4 cups it makes while it initializes and calibrates (I thought, wow, this coffee is so weak and diluted, is something wrong here? Lol). But after that it got really great. Also I agree with you about the cleaning regimen, I do a complete machine cleaning every 3-4 months. But so worth it.

My doctor told me a while ago to stop drinking coffee because... muh cholesterol and being the know-it-all I am, I refused to stop drinking coffee because how the hell does a plant-based drink cause an increase in cholesterol?!

I've personally never bought into the notion that plain black coffee would increase one's cholesterol. It certainly hasn't increased mine, and I drink roughly ~6-8 cups a day. I'm calling baloney on that.

seems the former 56k 57k support area is now resistance

will prepare my anus for more pain...

Cycle theory, fwiw, says at year's end we should be at around 70k. Hope we get there earlier though
You seem to be way too premature to be considering $56k / $57k as resistance.. but hey whatever, you do you.  I don't claim to really know.

Regarding your high for the years end... You bearish fuck!!!!!!   Angry Angry Angry
it is resistance until now. let's see if it stays that way.

Year's end:
it's standard cycle procedure that 3 years after the cycle top that top will be taken out. That was standard until now. You probably know that, as you rode a few cycles. Nothing bearish about that

Even though my two earlier points were mostly off the top of my noggen, I stand by them.

I started with the bar low. Post-post wwII England was still mostly tea and coffee was *gasp* instant. Load it up with sugar and milk and you can about drink it (I now drink plain black coffee - excepting cappuccinos). When I was a kid, we visited the US and my parents brought back a coffee maker and would use it occasionally for a treat until it burned out and temporarily became a teleporter for Star Wars figures.

After that, it was drip coffee for a while but a whole pot is often a waste and gets burned quickly. Senseo had an offer on their machines so I rocked one of those for many years. Bagged ground coffee has all the disadvantages you've heard about but it's definitely a few steps up from instant and it's at least a fresh cup every time.

I've tried french press, those Italian pots (bough mine in Italy), a little Espresso machine. I even have a glass vacuum brewer but I just don't have the patience for them. I used a superauto at a hotel in the Czech republic that gave me the kind of cappuccino I was looking for and started looking after that. That machine came out somewhere around $3500 so a bit rich but I saw there was a sale on the Philips on Amazon and BB was price matching... My first machine arrived crushed in the post. I was so excited then bits started coming off in my hands... I drove 40 miles to exchange it that night.

Fortunately, I had read about that in my research so knew to expect and just blasted a whole bunch of cups through. It still wasn't perfect but it didn't take long to get to where it's good. I usually go for Lavazza Espresso beans. It's that good that my wife is now a coffee drinker where she wasn't before.

I have a resin and a filament printer. I haven't printed anything that ambitious on the resin. Came out nice. I mostly print functional prints on the FDM.

I like 3D printers but I’ve never made the leap. I feel like it would steal all my time from me if I did.

I just spent $30 on Etsy for these…

My first ever Etsy purchase. Not sure if that’s a good deal or not but I’ve seen some cool 3D printed objects over the years. I recall seeing a really unique sundial one time now that I think about it…

She loves dinosaurs.. this is just the skull with a base to display it... I bought more filament to print the complete skeleton.. 2.5kg of filament in total and several days of printing.

Resin gives an incredible finish, it's good to have both, they complement each other

This clock is amazing, I didn't know it existed.

I'm going to print it in the next few days to see if it works... I even found the 3D model.

Yes, those Lavazza beans are really good.

And same on the wife! Mine said the other day, "You know I really didn't care much for coffee when I was younger, but now with this espresso machine I feel like I've become the biggest coffee snob... but in a good way."
