It’s perfectly fine. Nothing wrong here why he seems so confused? Don’t you guys agree?

This is a perfect description of how Twitter bitcoin analysts confuse many newbies and investors. You rush to Twitter space hoping to find an encouragement or an investment fact: you first hit the doubting Thomases, meet the bitcoin future uncertainties, bump into bitcoin enthusiasts and when you finally think you're settling into investment decisions,...you meet the bitcoin enemies and deviants.

Should I invest or not?? Who would bail the cat? Which do I follow? Haha 😆

Funny you mention audacity.  I have been a music/audio professional for all my life.  Here I sit...

I am not aware of the drama there... probably better I avoid it, honestly, lol.  I use Reaper (multitrack) and Acoustica (mastering).

cAPS, did i miss or forget that fact about yours?
However, i may end up send you some future stuff of mine to have a listen to (as an audio professional).
Be warned  Tongue

About the op_return discussion that goes on here i mostly understand and share most of your opinions, by the lack of time and focus i didn't reply (yet?), but regarding the discussion as a whole, apart of the subject, the fucking hating and dividing sickness seems to spread everywhere, worse that Covid. Glad to see you're immune to that shit  Cool

(X)
Oh, lets not be a hypocrite here, there was always the option to change it so why did you feel the need to FORCE the change on unsuspecting people that don't change defaults and were perfectly happy with the way it was?
(~)

I don't want to throw gasoline on the fire, is just a personal observation:

When i access bitcoin org, i see: 'peer-to-peer money cash system', and didnt see peer-to-peer image system...than, bitcoin is not more for everyone? Satoshi didnt mean this, or, mean something instead this..

Pretty much sums it up for me, but what do i know?  Grin

Stop with this hyperbole. Nobody can force you to do anything here. If you don't want the change, don't update the client.

I have no horse in this race but I see the shady tactics you guys are using because I am not a shill nor a child.
Roll Eyes

If core 30 allows images without a "hack"

and all earlier cores allow images with only a "hack".
This is not true. You could do images without any "hack". I mentioned it in an earlier post.

Many miners have been privately and some publicly bypassing OP_RETURN limits that are in Bitcoin Core for a long time. This is a trivial patch that any kid with an AI can do within minutes. If you pay, they will include it in the blockchain. If they block it by some chance you just need to obfuscate it and they will include any type of CSAM. Will they shut down Mara for this?  Roll Eyes

It seems to me BTC will face legal challenges which will get solved one way or another.
Most limits will eventually be removed. As much as I don't like this, this is what is going to happen. That is the best solution that avoids these situations in the future. Once all limits are removed except the block size limit, then you can't blame the developers for anything. Bitcoin is a tool for freedom. Permissionless means that you don't get to dictate how someone else wants to use it. Peer-to-peer cash is what satoshi envisioned as the main use case for Bitcoin, but for sure he didn't want to establish a central party that declares what is "spam" and what is not.

This is worse by several orders of magnitude. Perhaps more than a thousand times worse. If a user doesn’t understand how much worse this is compared to OP_RETURN, they should keep a more flexible perspective on this topic.

https://x.com/mononautical/status/1974493719719268610

FYI there is absolutely no known way to block this. Core could create some filter and the "other" side could patch over it in a day. Probably they could even develop a patch before Core even releases the new version. No filterboy has an answer to this, they just try to ignore it because it inconveniences their position. The irony of filterboys and Core critics is that they would also blame the developers if Core didn't anything to help with the UTXO set growth (which would increase the system requirements for the node). They are blaming them for doing something and they would also blame them for not doing something.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would love to hear anything you've recorded.  I think there are several of us here who play something. Sir Azimuth has posted the occasional thing... We should try some wacky collaboration some time. 😁

As to the "opera turn" stuff (I think that's a kind of funny way to spell it considering the drama). Is a bigger mess than I had thought it would become at least socially.

Later today I will post my bullet list of the basic arguments of both sides.

Who knows? Perhaps that will cause Satoshi himself to come join the thread to scold me. 🤔😁

The ETF era Bitcoin Drama - 2025

.
- do you know what Bitcoin Stamps (a protocol with about 1,25 million NFTs on the Bitcoin chain) and the "fake public key method" (in P2MS or P2WSH outputs) are? If not, then you really have to read a bit first.

Seriously... f%&% mikeinspace.

Tell me... Do you think he will change to op_return now?  His entire point is to shit in the punchbowl.

But I would also like to simply add this. Yes, I'm entirely aware of what UTXO spam is, and I'm aware that that's one of the arguments for expanding the datacarrier size default.  It's the best argument, in fact, in my humble opinion.

Have you ever heard of an ad hominem fallacy? If not then perhaps you should go read up on it a bit.

Okay, I said I wasn't on the sling shit. So, I'm going back to that stance.

My mothers final resting place.

It's hard..very hard.

I still cry a lot.

Appreciate and be fortunate if your parents are still alive. See them more often, make memories. Use your BTC wealth to buy something for them, don't be a greedy scrooge.

Mother's memories lives with us for a lifetime Sad

My condolences @Paashaas

It's an inevitable call, we all gonna answer it someday Huh

@JayJuanGee
Let’s go for 00:00 UTC time on April 1, 2026 and for 0.001 Bitcoin. It’s just a bit of fun but let’s see who wins. I would happily pay a lot more money than that to see a nice shiny all time high because obviously I’d be making a hell of a lot more money that way Smiley

I’m a man of my word and will obviously pay out if I lose the bet but you know that any way Smiley
I already lost a bet to JJG so won't go for more. But it will be interesting to see outcome of this bet, as you both are a good match to each other in terms of knowledge and analysis.

May the best one win. Good luck

Maybe I have a bit of a personality problem in my recent attempts to want to bet anyone who I believe is taking a somewhat extreme position... so in that regard, it may well be good to win a bet in both directions, even though with you, even though BTC's price direction became more apparent after the fact, I felt that I needed to have odds because I was not very confident in it happening, even though you were proclaiming something close to 100% odds, including that you were sort of suggesting that I did not even need to put any value on my end, since you were so confident on your end.  You likely needed to lose that bet in order to learn a lesson in regards to taking extreme and/or absolute positions.

I think that the odds are fairly highly against LFC winning the bet, yet surely anything can happen, so I cannot really count on winning such bet until it happens.. including that we could end up having several more fakes up to $126,272 without crossing over it.. which might even cause more and more loss of confidence that a new ATH will end up being crossed prior to the end of the 1st quarter of 2026.

I do agree that I learned the lesson after losing 30$. The reason why I agree on placing the bet is because I made a claim and I don't like backing from that claim.

If you think you can win on that new offer then accept that offer since you will get 0.001 btc this time which is almost 100$. Just remember, in gambling winner is the one who knows when to stop.

I personally do not have a decision on the fact that long term developers say that pre core 30 spam is a hack

and that core 30 is not a hack.

But I do know that if the chain is easily flood with images and information such as a complete Dox of the Federal agency that runs ICE there will be legal attack on BTC.

So I am fairly sure we will see a legal attack due to content spammed into the chain in the next few years.

Very sad to hear about sad demise of your mother. May she rest in peace.

There is no doubt that parents are the only two persons in life who do everything for their kids unconditionally. We don't understand what our parents have done for us, unless we become parents.

"Parents were the only ones obligated to love you; from the rest of the world you had to earn it." Ann Brashares,

I lost my father 14 years ago. He was diagnosed with Kidney failure because of diabetes. I know take special care of my mother diabetes and kidneys functions.

Just few things which we can do to live a healthy life. Have your blood tests twice a year, if you are over 40. Keep strict eye on your blood sugar and Blood pressure. Do exercise regularly.

Death is a reality which we have to face one day, we have no control over it. What we can do is to maintain a good health to enjoy the life till we are breathing.

I personally do not have a decision on the fact that long term developers say that pre core 30 spam is a hack

and that core 30 is not a hack.
If you use the service of a miner or mine the block yourself, that is a hack? You can ignore said developers because they are wrong.

But I do know that if the chain is easily flood with images and information such as a complete Dox of the Federal agency that runs ICE there will be legal attack on BTC.
Since a complete DOX can be delivered in textual form, you can do this within the old OP_RETURN policy limit (using Core versions before v30). There is nothing that anyone can do to stop this. Even if you don't use OP_RETURN there are many different ways to store this. If people complain about the OP_RETURN thing too much someone will eventually do this on purpose because filterboys annoyed them too much about it.

So I am fairly sure we will see a legal attack due to content spammed into the chain in the next few years.
The adult thing here is to understand and to accept that you have no power to stop this. No matter what any developer does, neither you nor I can stop this from happening. We are entirely powerless, both to stop the storage of data and to stop any legal attacks that may come. We may win those legal battles, but we can't prevent the attack.

It is easy to say: You need to stop the storage of data into Bitcoin! The harder thing is to design a solution that looks like it would work. Lastly, the hardest thing is to reach a level of knowledge where you understand that this is basically impossible.

I don't like the spam but the only real solution would be to change to a protocol like Grin's where the types of transactions are extremely restricted. No Lightning, no sidechains, no contracts, no decentralized swaps ...
This is what you would have to do and it probably would still not work. It is just that Grin is not that interesting or relevant for someone to figure out other ways a way to store data there too (yet). Should we keep removing things from Bitcoin in a desperate attempt to stop the unavoidable? Even if we introduced a centralized transaction review committee, it would be still possible to obfuscate data into transactions in ways that would get approval by the review board. So what should people do? Whine and yell that doomsday is coming or accept that this is how information technology has always worked?

I  that developer's idea will be used to attack this new larger easier image insertion process.

Do not deny it is pretty much certain to happen.

Now if you read my original post you should realize I am all for the attack. If Btc wins great if it loses oh well it was flawed and deserves to die.

I am stilling willing to stack and hodl even though I am certain BTC will get dragged into court over the increased image size.

Fortunately for me if BTC get killed off I do not have my future tied into it.

This risk created by core 30 is real and it will hopefully last for a few years allowing lower controlled prices is 100k to 140k .

Then it will win the court battles created by core 30.

If you want to gaslight and say core 30 will not make a few court battles fine.

I am realistic and realize it will.

You should embrace the fight coming.

Those of you with 100plus btc have far more skin in this game.

So hope I am right and it goes to court and wins.

This is one of the reasons why I am choosing to post everything that I've learned.

I do find it interesting, though, that what I have posted so far, which honestly isn't that controversial, it has stirred up so much ire.

I will say this, pay attention to the tone of the people arguing as well as contradictory or very thin reasoning.  A lot of the tactics that I see being used are very common in political arguments.

I will get around to the interesting political angles that have come into play mostly on Twitter.

Personally I have far less to lose if it expodes crashes and burns then most of the people here on the wo.

But I still think BTC will prevail in any court battles.
