I have deployed an automated gallery of hat avatars. The display order is randomized and non-repeating. Each avatar is shown with the corresponding name beneath it.

It's not that it's very useful, but it looks nice, or at least I think so. I enjoy glancing over and watching the hats slide by.

(I am currently missing a few hats, perhaps only five or six, but they will be uploaded soon. Apologies for any minor grammatical errors when applying the names. I will check the final result once the set is complete.)

Gee, I do sometimes wonder why Satoshi Nakamoto never revealed his identity. And then I see something like this and it all makes sense.
Dorian has moved on from bitcoin but he still has a lifetime supply! Wink lolha

Of course, Dorian is not Satoshi.. so whatever Dorian is doing is not too relevant.

You are living in a fantasy if you believe that $20k to $30k has anything beyond less than 0.1% odds of happening.
Of course I do not believe it will happen, it was just a maybe silly way to explain how I feel.  Even if this close to zero chance of occurrence some how happened, to me Bitcoin is so valuable now that low chance drops can not bring me fear and extreme Bull runs will likely not give me thrills any more either.  To me and presumably many of us here, this is now life.

Perhaps over the years, I have heard so many of those outrageously negative scenarios, and even entertained several of them, and a large number of them end up being just fantasylandia disingenuine attempts to deal with reality, so it becomes difficult to treat those kinds of comments as serious since they seem to be so far out there and without a sufficient enough of a context to take seriously.

It may be one of those situations in which I am ONLY going to play with those kinds of extreme bear scenarios if they are contemporaneously accompanied by extraordinary evidence.. you know? the extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.. and so many times those kinds of claims are abused, too..

So for example, there might be some guys who might look at the 200-WMA which is currently at $56k, and then proclaim that 35% below the 200-WMA is fair grounds, so then that puts us at $36.5k.. Ok.. fair enough, yet if the BTC price were to get down to the 200-WMA and then go below the 200-WMA, it is hardly likely to go straight down to the 200-WMA and then straight below the 200-WMA, so even the worser case scenarios would take several months to get to 35% below the 200-WMA, and in the meantime, the 200-WMA is moving up at least $30 per day minimum so after a couple of months, the 200 WMA would have had moved up to at least $58k, so then $38k becomes 35% below the 200-WMA.. . which causes me to tentatively draw a line in the sand in terms of sub $40k no longer being possible (at least not possible within any not-broken-bitcoin scenarios).

So yeah, the downside is one thing and the  the upside is another thing, and sure, we have not been witnessing outrageous out of control upside scenarios in bitcoin in recent times, perhaps since 2021.. but still I am not going to accept them as ruled out, either.

The mere fact that manipulative beartwats have been able to keep the BTC price under certain kinds of wraps in recent years, I really am not going to go along with an presumptions that they have been successful in taming dee cornz or that they have gotten this shit under any kind of a meaningful control.

So your going along with ideas that bitcoin has been tamed or mellowed out seems to be giving into what the powers that be would like you to believe.  I am not going to concede such grounds to those manipulative twats.. .. since it also plays along with the bitcoin is a mature asset class framework.. and that has been baloney pushing down our throats ever since I got into bitcoin.

In other words, you better make sure that you have prepared ur lil selfie for UPpity, whether you want UPpity to happen or not and whether you believe that UPPity is within the realm of possibilities or not..

On a personal financial level I give few shits if outrageous uppity happens or not since outrageous uppity is largely out of my control.. but it seems almost impossible for outrageous UPpty to be stopped.. whether the powers that be want it or not.  The powers that be have way less control over bitcoin than they would like to have and even if they don't want Trump and his degenerate grifting snotted-nosed kids to benefit or not, they are likely to benefit from bitcoin's likely outrageous uppity whether they deserve it or not.

It is also true that we have BIGGER and BIGGER players coming into bitcoin, so there seem to be greater efforts to control its price volatility, yet I have doubts in regards to how much capacity that BIGGER players have to control bitcoin and/or its prices.. but yeah, I am ongoingly willing to just observe rather than getting too caught up upon specifics regarding what might or might not happen even if there seems to remain a decently broad array of things that could end up happening - including but not limited to large changes in bitcoin's price, especially to the upside.
There is definitely such an effort playing out recently.  I did feel a more stable Bitcoin even this Bullish year and I am not sure if it is the effort of bigger players or the significant influx of Money doing its thing.  Or, maybe both.  To me, what matters the most now is that we do not give up any of our hands before most of the big players announce they are already in and invested significant amounts of Money in Bitcoin.  Not that it is a good idea to give up any of our hands at all, but to who ever has to sell this is not the time I would say.

Sounds like we are largely on the same page in regards to this comment of yours.

The more players are in the Bitcoin game, I am guessing the more they will try to grow it.  But before growing it, I can only guess they will try to keep Bitcoin lower until they set all their positions up.

Sure.  Yet, it does not mean that they are going to be successrul in whatever they are trying to do. It is mot like all of the status quo rich twats are able to coordinate and agree amongst their slimy lil selfies.

Billionaires have missed on Profits no other investment has made its sincere holders, which makes me wonder if any of them will try moving the Market to their advantage and in such ways that would recover them at least part of what they missed on.

Even though a lot of the twats have privileged positions, they still might not have had been able to figure out how to act in time to save themselves from themselves, so several of them are likely to make similar mistakes as normies in terms of delaying in their jumping on the train in time...so some will profit more than others and it is not like the ones on the train are going to be willing to hold the train back or the rocket so that their slow-poke buddies are able to get on board.

Although there is a risk out there that I am thinking of, which is big players entering a Market to doom it for a while later on and scare the weak out of Bitcoin before CBDCs launch.  Which again would be bad AND good, weak Bitcoin hands are temporary anyway.  But I see a large battle over destroying the peoples Trust in Bitcoin happening around the time CBDCs are going to be running.

Tether is becoming more and more coopted to become some variation of a private CBDC..

So you are expecting other kinds of CBDCs?  Of course, there is already confusion regarding what bitcoin is and what value bitcoin brings, so there are already more and more ways to attempt to channel everyone into KYC AML channeling of our coins... and so you think that BTC's price is going to become suppressed due to these efforts?

Of course, bitcoin is a world - wide phenomena, yet I am not denying the growth of ongoing battles and confusion regarding various ways to attempt to neuter bitcoin...and so yeah, even long holding bitcoiners are going to sell their coins to cash out from whatever number go up that they had already gotten.. and financial sovereignty is a bit more of a complicated way of holding coins, since many of us are likely going to have to figure out ways to separate whatever coins that we have.. and, yeah, I am not denying those various kinds of battles to be upcoming.. .. and several of us will likely continue to HODL through these matters and yeah maybe sometimes we are going to be persecuted for holding coins.,.. and/or not sufficiently disclosing our coins... ongoing battles and stress... including others disclosing that they got coins from us... so we might send coins to some relative and then the relative will say that they got their coins from us... .. governments will not give up control easily and wanting to monitor and take away whatever privacy and freedoms that we might perceive ourselves to have.. .sure.

Large entities controlling hundreds of thousands of Bitcoin is incredible and scary at the same time.  If there was not a fight against Freedom, I would not even think of all the 'doomsday' scenarios but the closer we are to the Wealth Ledger a k a Digital Fiat, the more possible it seems to me that such things may happen.

Yeah of course, large entities don't mind selling everyone down the river, since they are going to disclose their coins, they are going to want everyone to have to disclose their coins.

Interestingly, even if any of the above happened I would watch it with full curiosity but not sell any of what I have.

How you ever going to be empowered by your coins if you cannot personally profit from your coins?

Even if the largest war for Censorship and against Privacy and Freedom played out, I would value Bitcoin over any other Asset any day.  It comes with Freedom, it can be hurt but never killed, it surpasses inflation significantly, how can you not love and want it.

And, of course many of us are going to ongoingly want developers to be working on various privacy tools without getting locked up..  or otherwise persecuted... so maybe more and more developers might have to work under anonymity?

I have my doubts.  In terms of percentages, we are ONLY 4x to 6x price differences from the 2017 top until current prices ($19,666 in 2017 and between $80k and $126k currently).
Jay, do not bring my hopes up like you always do.  I want to contradict the others who said we do not get the thrills any more if the time for 1 Million comes!

Of course, nothing it guaranteed in regards to price, and if bitcoin is ONLY held by rich folks and there is no bitcoin held in private hands, then bitcoin's power and value is going to go away.. so surely some of the folks who are pumping various bitcoin paper products are going to have to appreciate that bitcoin power and value comes from our being able to withdraw our coins from various third party entities and if a lot of folks contract away their ability to personally custody their coins, then it might be more difficult to see bitcoin prices going straight up merely because rich people are able to hold coins but poor people have to jump through hoops.. wich then may well justify the peer to peer aspect of bitcoin taking place in jurisdictions that are less controling int erms of their governments.. Do such places exist?  Financialization of bitcoin might pump bags and take away power from people all at the same time.

Just want to say this one little thing, I think most of us here don't necessarily need to hear it, but for those of us who might...

One of the biggest parts of the revolution of Bitcoin is your ability to be self-sovereign. You can safeguard your own wealth.
Freedom.  Bitcoin brings a Freedom that we will increasingly lose in time.  We are losing it quicker and the pace will particularly increase when dystopian Digital Fiat will come to fruition.

Yeah.. sure we are always threatened in those kinds of ways. .and some of our powers we have voluntarily given up through our carrying around phones (monitoring devices) and our use of credit cards for everything...

Every time a little bit of our Freedom is lost, Bitcoin is more valuable, becomes stronger and serves a bigger scope.  If there was an attempt to seize any and all Bitcoin like they did with Gold, Bitcoin Wealth can be hidden in a way no other Asset can be.

Yes.;. bitcoin is about 1,000x better than gold, yet we still need to exercise our self custody powers (or credibly threaten to do so) in order for bitcoin to retain more powers than gold.

Not only this but you can still SPEND IT and RECEIVE IT with out even having to dig it out or bury it again.  There are metal detectors that can detect Millions of Dollars worth of Precious Metals but there are no detectors to find a buried piece of paper containing a Billion Dollars worth of Bitcoin in a plastic capsule.  This is insanity for any body who tries any evil thing.

Yep... Bitcoin has lots of advantages over that relic rock.

I believe Bitcoin has delayed the release of CBDCs and has created a lot of fear around the evil people who want to control us, our Wealth, our thinking and our lives.

I thought that from some circles there is desperation and urgency and in that regard bitcoin has inspired the expedition of CBDCs

Because Bitcoin is a revolution that can not be attacked so they are only left with two options.  Suddenly turn evil completely and ban the Internet for each and every one of us,

The powers that be have all kinds of tricks up their sleeve, including but not limited to wars on physical cash.

but this would turn all of us against them.

Surely some things they do backfire.. and a lot of people are now coming more skeptical of some of the pandemic related controls that were put into place. and so I doubt that the powers that be are giving up and even regular normie citizens don't always know including that we are fighting amongst ourselves about gender issues.

Or, pretend you support it while trying to find ways to avoid people from entering Bitcoin and finding full Freedom.  If they find Bitcoin and realize the Freedom it brings, then all of a sudden Digital Fiat does not make any sense any more.

Normies are taking time to figure out the value of bitcoin.

This is why I believe ETFs and such are dangerous ways of 'holding Bitcoin'.  Too many people are still holding their Bitcoin on Centralized Exchanges as well, which is really bad.

Yeah.  How you going to stop normies from doing that?.. even the various blow ups around FTX did not teach lessons about the negative aspects of custodians.

If any evil plan has to come alive, they will be the first to suffer.  But unfortunately, while self custody is preached over here by many, I doubt this many are actually practicing what they preach and I would bet a lot of them are holding their Bitcoin in dangerous ways.

Yep.. "we" need to hold at least a decent percentage of our stash.. maybe even less than 50% is better than not holding any... like some folks don't seem to know the value of self-custody or even being able to credibly threaten taking self-custody.. and we cannot necessarily credibly threatened taking self-custody if we contracted our rights to self-custody away by holding some ETF stocks or even our owning other kind of exposure to BTC prices (such as MSTR like companies) rather than owning the actual BTC.

Bitcoin will become more and more interesting in the coming years and I believe we have not seen its actual potential play out yet.  There will come a time when Bitcoin will be needed by many people, and then All Time Highs and significant drops will not matter any more because people will be running after actual Freedom in despair.

You are more optimistic regarding human desires for "freedom" than this here cat, even though surely I consider freedom to be important and I consider bitcoin to be an enabler of more freedoms, but yeah, there needs to be some self-custody involved or at least credible threats of self-custody.

Of course, there will be a lot of sheep too who will not and they will stick to the convenient Digital Fiat that will control their lives.  But to each their own, I suppose.

It is o.k. if there are some sheeple as long as there is a credible group who are ready, willing and able to take self custody and also to use their coins from time to time.

I am reading that some people here are not experiencing any thrill or euphoria any more.  I believe it is not a sign of a change in the Cycles of Bitcoin but it is not a bad thing either.  It can also not be used to pin point where we are currently on the Cycle Psychology chart.

Bitcoin has had so many All Time Highs that to each of us who have been owning it and riding the waves since 2017 or even earlier it is the normality.  The United States has a disgusting Debt that is increasing by an increasing amount every year.  Look at the angle of the growth from 2008 through 2012 and look at the angle of growth between 2020 and today.  It is so much steeper now.  I did not see any panic when the Debt passed 30 Trillion but I can clearly remember there was some level of panic when 10 and 20 Trillion levels were surpassed.  The 30 Trillion, any time I ask some body about it they say they did not even know.  It has become normality.

This is an amazing thing for Bitcoin.  If you explore the Beginners Board on here you will see a lot of Newbies still being scared by 'sharp' turns of Bitcoin such as 120 Thousand to 90 Thousand.  A lot of them were showing thrill and euphoria too when Bitcoin was touching the newest Highs.  To us this is normal.  It is Bitcoin doing its thing and earning us more purchasing power than ever before.  And the more people will join the normality of Bitcoin, the less thrill there will be when new Highs come up because they know this is how it works.

I do not know about the rest of you but I would not be disappointed by Bitcoin if it dropped to levels even as low as 20 to 30 Thousand at all.  It has had really long winters in the past and I signed up for this knowing there may be other winters in the future too.  But at the end of the day I am convinced that it will not only recover but it will keep growing value over time too.

To get thrills and euphoria, I would personally need to see Bitcoin growing from 100 Thousand to over a Million Dollars in less than an year.  I believe this level will be touched but not in as little as 300 days.  Other wise, I will not get thrill if I saw Bitcoin at 250 to 300 Thousand Dollars in the next years.  It is incredibly high if compared to 2017 or even 2021 but it is 'the new normal' now.  2026 looks like it is going to be a new year of new Highs on the United States Debt chart so I am ready for what ever comes.

I expect this is why you do not get the thrills either.

In fact.  I kind of lack the patience to wait for what looks like will be the new Economic Crisis or Recession.  Bitcoin is here particularly because of the really bad Fiat system and the Fiat system is showing very large cracks you have to be almost blind to ignore.  Back in 2008 through 2012 people did not have Smart phones, they were really bad with technology over all.  Today even 80 year olds own Smart phones and do Banking on them.  If in 2008 people who were desperately looking for a refuge from the crashing Fiat system did not find Bitcoin, imagine this time they will see the shining light at the end of the tunnel and finally realize this is what Bitcoin was all about.  Pair this to the new CBDCs they are planning to integrate into the already bad system and the effects on Bitcoin will probably be pretty strong once people start running away.

The things you have highlighted, I can really match with the current reality and the world economy.
For those who have been with Bitcoin for many years, it is quite natural to have less excitement because it has become a kind of habit for them. You said that even if the price drops to 20-30 thousand, it does not matter to you. Such a mentality has been created from your many years of experience. And those who are new are the ones who panic the most in such times. And those who are more valuable and everlasting assets start increasing gradually. Everyone with experience knows this, that is why even those who are experienced like you get a little excited when it increases 10x in a year.

And even if the amount of American debt increases further, they do not see much panic among them. There may be two reasons behind this. First, since they have control over the world's strongest currency, the dollar. That is why they have confidence that even if there is a recession, their economy will not collapse. Another thing is that even if they are in a panic, they will never reveal it to the outside world.

We may think that all the economic and political control of the world is actually given by the government. I have doubts about how true this is.. The whole world is controlled by private companies. The government takes money from the big private companies of the world. They print money and give interest to them. Especially these BIGDOGS control the economic and political policies of the whole world.

You know what, I thought about this before.  What if my mind is mostly clear from their manipulation but there is a 5 to 10 percent of fog they successfully put in there that I can not see through and it is fueling these thoughts.  You may be right, maybe they have a little superficial control but not too much of it and not threatening in any significant way to Bitcoin.

I believe it will be a partially controlled, partially not situation that plays out similar to 'tainted' versus 'clean' Bitcoin.  Try to work with Third Parties and they will probably start looking for a 'taint'.  Work Peer to Peer and the other side does not care about the nonsense concept of 'taint' because Peers take each Bitcoin as fungible.  As they should.

The partial control they will succeed in comes from regulation, laws, more 'steps against crime', more intrusiveness, more Billionaires telling the sheep when to buy Bitcoin and when not to, leaders telling us we have to show ID to prevent crime.  Average people do not seem to think with their mind, there is more control and surveillance than ever before in our history and yet the crime statistics are up for most countries.

They will succeed in their partial control as in the regulations will exist and a large number of people will listen to what they say.  But once you take the surface control off, the rest of it can not be controlled and just like the 'taint' situation I described above, not listening any more requires zero effort.  Take your Bitcoin and do what ever you want.  It is as simple as that and nobody else can say no.

I am expecting Bitcoin to become worth more due to their efforts, not less.  I expect sharp declines from time to time when things we do not like happen, but I do not expect it to die, to never recover or to be suppressed.  The almost entire World seems to be ready for their own versions of 'CBDCs', although I would argue they are nothing more than a Centralized system pretending to be better than any Currency that ever was or will be, including Bitcoin.  I believe The United States, The United Kingdom, the European Union, they are all almost ready to push forward their own versions of dystopian Shit coin.

Of course, bitcoin is a world - wide phenomena, yet I am not denying the growth of ongoing battles and confusion regarding various ways to attempt to neuter bitcoin...and so yeah, even long holding bitcoiners are going to sell their coins to cash out from whatever number go up that they had already gotten.. and financial sovereignty is a bit more of a complicated way of holding coins, since many of us are likely going to have to figure out ways to separate whatever coins that we have.. and, yeah, I am not denying those various kinds of battles to be upcoming.. .. and several of us will likely continue to HODL through these matters and yeah maybe sometimes we are going to be persecuted for holding coins.,.. and/or not sufficiently disclosing our coins... ongoing battles and stress... including others disclosing that they got coins from us... so we might send coins to some relative and then the relative will say that they got their coins from us... .. governments will not give up control easily and wanting to monitor and take away whatever privacy and freedoms that we might perceive ourselves to have.. .sure.
At least you are thinking of these scenarios.  Regular people will stay hours in line for their new Shit coin and will be giving up their Freedom with a smile on their face believing they are part of some sort of significant progress of society.

And, of course many of us are going to ongoingly want developers to be working on various privacy tools without getting locked up..  or otherwise persecuted... so maybe more and more developers might have to work under anonymity?
I am honestly surprised there are not more developers working under anonymity already.  The signs are more than clear that Privacy will be considered a crime unless the State can be the third pair of ears and eyes.  The consequences are already showing.  Either they do not care or they are not realizing they are in danger too.

Yeah.  How you going to stop normies from doing that?.. even the various blow ups around FTX did not teach lessons about the negative aspects of custodians.
You can not stop them.  They are being told but they will not listen, the general population will continue to choose what is more comfortable and convenient and custodians are exactly that.  I have seen a worrying number of Members on this Forum believing Michael Saylor will never sell any Bitcoin at all and will only keep buying, forever.  Normies are delusional.

ChartBuddy 5x streak.

I guess it shows the boredom around the market at the moment. People are waiting for the next significant move after what’s been a horrific November performance so far.

I was lying in bed last night, thinking about Bitcoin. We just have to hope the four year cycle is dead and 2026 is a good year. I do not want to sit through another, stinking bear market but it is what it is. We watch and wait…….
