Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it

Another day with friggin poker room closed, not heading home to 3 more feet snow and car I need to get towed out of here.
I dug out fully today. 22inch storm heavy wet snow. I used the new plug in Westinghouse snowblower. Two 100 foot extension cords with a waterproof plug case. Spent well under 200 bucks for all of it. An 18 inch wide path claims to be able to do 8 inch height. So Sunday 2 passes each about 4 inches and Monday 3 passes 7inches 4 inches and 3 Inches so all 22 Inches of wet heavy snow done by Monday l Today salting and tackling the snow plow wall made by the town last night. Fucking wall is 3 foot by 3 foot by 18 foot and is by far the hardest part to fix. All done resting the back in bed as I type. Stacked a bit extra as my kraken ladder down hit as 64, 63, 62 steps all hit Funny thing is I've been resting for 2 days and my neck keeps getting worse. Guess it can take awhile for the whiplash to get you. Too bad it was whiteout in a bomb cylone, otherwise I would have gotten his license plate. Should be fun when i get home tomorrow with NECK KILLING ME, HERNIATED SPINE and a hand full of Vikes digging out of 3 feet ontop of the 2 feet i still had laying there. Ha, 2 capslock episodes in one sentence, on then off. I wish I hadn't forgotten the external keyboard for this thing .

I get back pain on and off, but it is low grade 2-3 I can sleep with it. Neck pain keeps me up can't sleep and worse yet can't turn my neck when I need to while driving. Had to buy a car with rear cameras mostly due to the neck pain issues. The only good thing is I do not get a lot of it as compared to back pain.

Imagine not liking a bulletproof truck with 850 horsepower that runs on sunshine, drives itself, and can go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds… That’s almost as hard to believe as people getting mad at the person who tried to save them from losing half their savings. An odd bunch we have in these parts.
I kid. Always talking my book

I would out law all ev's and all gas only cars. I would force everyone to have hybrid compromise the best of both worlds.
Force? Jesus phil, I thought you were a leftie, I didn’t expect you to be in line with Trump politics 101.
Notice how the orange lines spike? #spike.some.more

About that. Around a month ago, in the previous snow storm that hit the US, the hashrate took a massive plunge. phil was ecstatic - from a miners perspective - and I was reading all sorts of news about how beneficial Bitcoin mining operations can be to the grid. Which brings me to my question - WTF? No hashrate drop this time, which means that either there is no weather-miner correlation, or something has changed?
Yeah, right, you of all people. Hahahahahaha. This narrative is sort of stress free but brutal, risk free more-so, but you guys really don’t want the plebs multiplying their coinz do you? Selling some - even now - would probably do better than just watching the third leg down unfold during the summer - helpless to buy the final dip and bottom. —

And only tyrannical despotism required to do so. I do agree that hybrid is the better option (with exceptions) though. What exceptions are those? I'm thinking of getting a new car soon and thought one of the Toyota hybrids might be worthwhile.

I'm thinking of getting a new car soon and thought one of the Toyota hybrids might be worthwhile. Hybrid is the worst of both worlds. You still have to use gas stations, have a loud oily engine bay that requires lots of upkeep, and you get low horsepower. Not to mention more moving parts to break instead of less. There is no reason not to go full electric nowadays. Cheaper, quieter, more powerful, cleaner, can charge at home, nice charging stations on road trips with frequent quick stops (a dream compared to long trips between crowded gas stations)... Don't let the media brainwash you into believing anything else just because Tesla doesn't pay tv stations for advertising. After driving thousands of miles with Tesla's full self driving software (I just took a 1,500 mile road trip and never touched the wheel), I couldn't imagine buying a vehicle that doesn't have FSD. Do yourself a favor and test drive a Tesla before you buy a new car. I don't think people realize what has been achieved over the last year.

Do yourself a favor and test drive a Tesla before you buy a new car. I don't think people realize what has been achieved over the last year. I'm not talking plug in hybrid though, it's the other type that Toyota made for the Prius. So surely the upkeep on that wouldn't be much different from full ICE and my 20 year old Toyota has been flawless in upkeep. An EV in my country is a crap load more expensive than the hybrids, for the amount of driving I do no way would I recoup the difference in purchase price vs running costs. Also, I won't be able to charge it on solar in the day and the electricity in my country is almost the most expensive in the world, gas is not though. Couldn't give 2 shits about power or self driving either, a car is simply A to B for me and I'm more than happy to drive. Hell, my current thing doesn't even have an automatic transmission, and I have no problem with that. So with all that said, are there any other disadvantages? It is more complicated than just an ICE so I expect some higher upkeep costs, but is there anything else? Oh no spare tire is pretty shit too.

New installed Dutch goverment dismissed new proposed box 3 law with 36% tax on unrealized gains after an avalanche of critism. Earlier, I came up with this hypothetical loophole. Today I thought of a new one: what if I create my own LoyceVshitcoin? I'll create one billion tokens, and at the end of 2027, I'll sell one for $0.01. That means LoyceVshitcoins are worth 10 million dollars, and my holdings are worth $9,999,999.99! On the first day of 2028, I'll dump all my 999,999,999 LoyceVshitcoins on the market, and crash the value to zero. I'll take a whopping $9,999,999.99 loss, enough to offset this tax for the rest of eternity! The whole idea of taxing unrealized gains at an annual 36% is so utterly studid, many people want to leave the country. NOS (Dutch state-funded media) keeps referring to "wealthy people", while the tax is for anyone who has enough investments to buy a decent second hand car, but isn't rich enough to avoid paying this tax. Even the king's brother was publicly complaining about it. The king himself doesn't pay taxes. I don't have high hopes of dismissing this crazy idea, right after it was accepted. But even if they do, I doubt we'll get something better for it. To think that all this started after their previous wealth tax conflicted with EU regulations, they should look at Sweden. There, people can choose: a (low) fixed tax, kinda like we had, or a tax on real returns. That encourages people to invest, while it's not conflicting with EU regulations because that part is an opt-in.
