Bitfinex has reduced their margin leverage from 2.5X to 1.5X, effective July 21st. Officially, this is because the btc used as margin deposit is also volatile.
This doesn't affect open positions though. I will be getting all I can before the switch.

That's not entirely true. This is what will happen starting from July 21st. 1st example
Current BTC price is 600 USD/BTC, and you have a leverage of 2.5:1
If you have 1 BTC, you can open a 1.5 max long or short BTCUSD position If you have 600 USD, you can open a 2.5 max long or short BTCUSD position
Each dollar you add in your trading wallet will allow you to increase your tradable balance
The leverage will vary depending on the type of collateral.

The leverage will vary depending on the type of collateral. While this is true I would wager that the vast majority of users are using BTC as collateral and not USD so will most likely apply to most.

I haven't been around to make this place interesting because I am bored with the price. I will be excited when we hit $680
Maye empowering's post will help you? How about some yoga guys? getting tense in here... Analyse that. She looks like she is ready to buy some Bitcoins! I can see it while looking into her eyes. And this Monday price drop should encourage her and all of you

And to think that you could have went to most of the games with your bitcoin profits.... oh wait
You mean, if I had bought in late November, when I first heard of it? I begin buying in late November 2013, and I don't have any problems with where BTC prices are at, currently.

I think that overall this will be a positive development for bfx. It will help reduce the risk of the platform and address some of the concerns regarding the current amount of swaps.

This is a common misunderstanding. The order book shown by bitcoinwisdom is truncated after N entries, and since the Chinese traders spam the books with zillions of tiny orders, the summary often gets truncated after a few lines. I have asked (twice) the bitcoinwisdom owner to print a "..." in the summary to show truncation, but I coudl not get him to see the problem. By the way, Huobi's chart on bitcoinwisdom has been frozen for 50 minutes now. It always does that when there is a significant dump... It is 3787 CNY on its own chart. (Strangely, quite a bit lower than OKCoin; usually they are only a few CNY apart.) EDIT: Huobi's order book plot at their own site: https://www.huobi.com/trade/?a=depth#depth

Your monkey knows one thing very well and that is "After dip there is a rise".
