Ok the people who said, "2014 will be shit" were right.

Of course BTC isn't done, it's gonna blow, but it's gonna do it in it's own time. I suggest, as always, that you hodl.

There's 3.5 month left. We can go to the moon and come back again in that time Wink

I really hope it will happen, can't wait to see over $1000 values.

I do NOT know exactly where moon is; however it is quite far past $1000, and probably in the $5k arena.

It can and will change in a heartbeat. We have had all the positive news we could have begged for, so now we wait for the market to mature while adoption fills out. The good times are returning, you can feel it in the air mon.

True, we had very positive news and yet price didn't react which is very bearish and confirms we are still in a long downtrend. Good news only slowed the rate of falling, that's why I think we won't see any significant rally for quite a while. The most optimistic must sell and abandon their hopes before we can go to new highs.

So you can buy in? Smiley

Well, yes.

Timing the market always seems so easy looking at the past. Bit harder in realtime Smiley

...
WTF, they say central banks are not involved in the creation of bitcoin.
You know what they said about official denial! Then it's often true  Huh

Bitcoin is internet money, impossible without it.
Who brought us internet?  Thaaat's right, DARPA.
And who funds DARPA?  You got it, the gubermint.
And whose bitch is the gubermint?  The bankers', that's whose!
100% banksters' trick!

And they know bitcoin is not perfect, that's why they will push it.
That's also why monero had a very sophisticated attack lately.
I think large entities know the power of currencies like monero.
They rather have bitcoin with pseudo anonimity than a true aonymous digital currency.
I you can't beat them, join them and push it to the moon.
I'm not sure if they created bitcoin but I'm pretty sure the bankers were involved very very soon.

I'm quite amazed where these huge sellers get their coins from.

Remember those 850.000 bitcoins "lost" on the MtGox? Somebody has the private keys of those BTC. Ask yourself what would you do if that was you. Would you hold all of them, or would you convert some to the fiat?

my guess is that if one was smart enough to steal this amount of coins he/she is also smart enough to sell them off exchange.

if it was me, selling them via a verified exchange account would be the last thing i would do.

And I don't even mv the btc, I'll just give away the private key.

Ahoy-hoy Bitcoin people. I have been lurking here for well over a year but neglected joining partly because my girlfriend induced in me a soporific, hedonistic, idleness. I spent months trying to teach her about bitcoin - I even gave her a couple back in the bubble at the end of last year - then a few weeks ago she asked me if I could trust all of my savings with "the bitcoin company"! I told her that my bitcoins are stored in my head. Her eyes glazed over, and our relationship had to end.
So, here I am. As a second best alternative to a hot Chinese girl , I suppose I may start to post musings on small percentage changes in the dollar rate of the good old bitcoin.

bitcoin means communism

No, it's not communism, but people here prefer it were communism when selling (whats's per definition is the same as manipulation) occurs. Pure capitalism for +1000% spikes, on downtrends planned economy in sovjet style. That's the Wall Observer capimmuism Utopia.

Then the buyer will move them, unless they trust you 100% (unless the buyer is you that is).

If respectability or interest in financial circles from the Bank of England publication were to kick off a huge investment (huge for bitcoin, a mere punt for London billionaires & financial firms), well I'm guessing brokers would be called they wouldn't just send £XXX,XXX,XXX to bitstamp, so what would be the first indicators, how soon and how sharply would it show in the charts?

Yes, funny and tragic! Unfortunately observing the bitcoin price over the past 18 months has caused me to eat recklessly, drink profusely, and chain smoke. I have therefore aged a great deal so I may never find another young hot lady again. My hope now is that when bitcoin goes to Da Moon I will be so rich that it will compensate for my haggard looks. Bitcoin takes away then gives back.

I think that the bottleneck is the exchanges now. If big money want to flow in, they need other avenues to be developed first. ETFs and the like may be these avenues (that may happen soon), or even the emergence of a global decentralized exchange (i can't see this happening very soon).

They would first buy off everything available off exchanges and probaly make contracts that guarantees bitcoins for a set duration.
Step 2 is going into exchanges to squeeze the last bitcoins.
Step 3 is frontrunning

We are at step 2 right now Wink
