Use your BTC profits to live it up in your old age and to use up all your money.

Don't worry. I'm already living it up.

I've been job free since 1976, live in one of the coolest neighborhood in downtown Toronto, have a 50 acre country retreat less than 2 hours away, consort with women young enough to be my daughters and gig a couple of times a month just to exercise my liver.

Sex and herbs and rock and roll!

DOGE UP and on it´s destined way to beome THE dominant crypto! Sooner or later his little brothers BTC and LTC will follow, don´t you worry!
Bitcoin = Gold
Litecoin = Silver
Dogecoin = USD

Payment processors love dogecoin because it encourages usage unlike bitcoin and litecoin which are horded and not great for there business model. It is almost unrivalled in the cryptoworld with the endless supply and has cheap fees and is fast

So....it's worthless?

That's cool if you really need NOT work..... or at least if you do NOT have to retain the obligations of a J.O.B. and if you only worked until you were in your mid-20s, you could NOT have been too abused in the job force, unless you want to describe some specifics.

I've never been the employee type.

Many sole proprietorships and some partnerships (mostly bands).

Being a musician, I learned the value of multiple incomes quite early.

I never liked the idea of unemployment insurance, welfare, etc. Government money is dirty money, stolen from the taxpayers.

Personally, I would have speculated (again) that these machines have such a short lifespan (due the seemingly ever exponentially increasing hash rate) that you would want to continue to run them while they are still profitable and with the passage of time they are going to become, more or less giant paper weights.. or maybe ONLY heaters b/c they are otherwise running at a loss.

My first-gen BFL ASICs were obsolete last winter. By the end of winter even underclocking them wouldn't have helped.

Indeed I see my miner as only a heater. Even if I only earn a few satoshis, I still feel as if I'm contributing to the network.

have you considered solo-mining? Then it's like playing the lottery.

Certainly there can be a lot of value in finding your own way and to find your own comfort and a lifestyle that works for you.

However, just because you consider government money to be stolen and dirty, I do NOT share your conclusion that the various functions of government may NOT serve a function, even though you may perceive little value in such or you may perceive that it is NOT for you.  However, there may be a lot of ways in which various government programs and/or services have allowed for the infrastructure in which you were able to enjoy your lifestyle and you were NOT murdered by the time you were in your 20s... and you were able to live into your mid 60s with a life that you perceive to have been (to date) sufficiently fulfilling. congratulation!!!

I'm in the same situation. It takes me about 3 months to mine 0.01btc. Solo mining would be excellent. I don't actually know how to go about it though. The core client doesn't let you just mine now.

I absolutely do not gamble.

Even if I only mine $5, I'd rather buy a beer than a lottery ticket.

Both CGMiner and BFGMiner have GBT solo mining modes now, specifically designed to let you solo mine directly to your local bitcoin node.  The README for either miner will tell you all about it.

Shouldn't setting up a bitcoin.conf file with rpcallowip etc. and pointing cgminer at the ip:port of the machine running bitcoind / bitcoin-qt suffice?

153k LTC shorts open on Finex.
120k in LTC asks to 100$ on Finex.
LTC swaps rate higher than USD rate
I´ll put in some greedy sell orders all the way up.  Smiley

If it does, please tell me how I do all of that Cheesy

I am mining on eligius with bfgminer on a windows machine. If I can switch this to solo that'd be great.

Don't get me wrong. I fully appreciate government services, especially essential ones like highways, public healthcare, sewage treatment and other primary infrastructure.

I just think that taxing the income of individuals is profoundly wrong. Luxury taxes on things like alcohol, gasoline and gambling are perfectly acceptable. Inheritance taxes are OK too.

Only corporations should pay income taxes.

Edit: It's been fun chatting but the Jays just blew the game in extra innings, I'm driven to drink and it's time for a few frosties and some live music on the local patio before the sun gets too low. Ciao.

jmho

When you tax corporations, those taxes become part of their cost of doing business, and thus end up reflected in their prices.

All taxes end up being paid by individuals, either directly or indirectly.
