it's interesting that now there are less shorts than before....

I guess people are more bullish

Masochism is a thing too, you know.  To each his own, I don't judge.

There are still individuals with far more bitcoin than sense

yes i agree, notlambchop should get more sense

Was referring to whoever mindlessly dumps over 1000 coins. But yes.. Many users here I'm worried about regardless. I got into bitcoin because it was new and. Had a sense of adventure. Some of the creatures in this thread express the polar opposite of what I believe life is worth.

Lol, no.  I got into Bitcoin when it was relatively new.  Now that it's known by everyone and turned into just another penny stock, I'm slowly getting out.
Looks like you got into BTC right as it peaked tho.

Congrats, finance adventurer!

Nice dump.
This was the daily 800-1000 one we've seen for months.

Remember, the dumper(s) that took us all the way down to 280. Which was the only thing people talked about. Then someone else dumped 30k coins and nobody ever mentioned these dumps again. Yet they are still happening almost daily and are still taking us down.
But we just ignore it because we are in a so called bull market.

I'm shorting for the first time in a while. I was hopefully optimistic, but now I'm convinced we still haven't hit bottom.

NotLambchop was obviously making a joke - one that I actually found pretty funny. If you can't see something so obvious, I think it is you who lacks intelligence.

Shorting an asset that is up 3200 percent in two years. Great idea.

Yes, I was investing in precious metals when I should have been buying bitcoin. I did however make some very handsome profits with altcoins. I never held bitcoin only exchanged for alts. But the BTC volatility has has it's affect on alts as well and they are harder to profit from now unless you are super quick to get in and out but it's not for me.

People remain people though. Some are dick , and some aren't.

Because only whales have the ability to dump 1000 BTC at a time, and not Joe Public?  So no, not really "people"?

Are those 0.05 BTC trades on Bitstamp some kind of encoded signals (like a morse codes)? You know, trade bots talking with each other? When they are in love we get a pump, when they fight it's a dump.

Bitcoin *is* the signal.
