I think this is typical pump by okcoin and btcchina with much more than 50% fake volume at 0% fees.
I don't know where this is going, but this is weird Smiley

The rally seems to be pulled by OKCoin. Huobi is usually within a few CNY from OKCoin, but now it is considerably lower (almost 100 CNY below at one time earlier today).  And the "Western" exchanges are even lower.

I would guess that OKCoin clients are reacting to the rumor about that multi-billion hedge fund "trading on their platform".  The rumor seems to be unconfirmed, though.

Perhaps OKCoin's online forum has some hints about the causes of this rally.

The rocket will launch after the countdown.  That means page 9876.

Who knew?

What a call!

I guess the "rumour" could be verified by the transaction volume. Nevertheless, if you seek for an "official" statement, I heard there's one on Reddit by the CEO OF BITCOIN (aka: THIS IS GENTLEMEN) Grin

Exactly one year ago I had similar story. The only option was bank wire (to MtGox Smiley), it took an extra week, and during the week the price had doubled Sad

Good day for BTC. Hopefully it's just the beginning since we blasted through $400 like nothing.

I was also pleased Counterparty went up over 50% today after they assimilated Ethereum's software. I generally don't like altcoins, but this one could be big.

same here with Gox, it actually took 14 days to clear and price rose 500% in that time :/

That volume could be generated by the common traders, given the huge price increase.

Yesterday's traded volume at OKCoin was "only" ~430 kBTC.  Their previous daily record was ~280 kBTC (three separate days in Feb--Mar/2014).

What does this mean for page 12345?
Nothing. For it to work it should be 1234567890. To reach this page we should post much more. As you can see, I'm doing my part, already getting blisters on my fingertips. Smiley

500% is tough indeed. Although, it's our fault. We had months and years of cheap coins and didn't use them.

This lag actually contributes to the bubble...
Waiting for your money to arrive while the price significantly increases makes you willing to pay more than you initially would have...

Liiterally I got verified and bought near 330 @CaVirtEx after using LBC at 143.50 and the exchange was swamped with verifications from oct till late dec. But I'd prefer healthier run ups then last year.

So on a related note (in that counterparty uses the bitcoin network), counterparty (XCP) converted all of Etherums code into its counterparty platform so now the entire smart asset system can work on the bitcoin protocol. Very bullish considering etherum was probably going nowhere. I also JUST so happened to buy some XCP (and XMR) a few days ago, its very nice that my XCP DOUBLED its USD value overnight Cheesy

This has been a very good few days for cryptos for me.

Yeah whatever happened to the Ethereum guys? They raised all that cash and what, bought new office furniture and embezzled the rest? All the while their software was open source and Counterparty was like OH HAI.

Good day for XCP. Big gains today.

Good day for XCP. Big gains today.

They sold like $600,000 of bitcoin from the IPO every other day for a week. Then went quiet for a few months. Then sold another large sum of coins.

I'm sure they bought houses, cars, hookers and blow. I doubt they plan on working on Etherum anymore, BUT at least they did provide something for counterparty to work with Cheesy

For the time being there is good support at $450. I'm not saying we can't dip below that, but at least a lot of fiat comes in at $450 currently
