He sounds like a BlockStream yes man.

In this paper, we argue that it is possible to simultaneously achieve these seemingly contradictory goals. The core observation is that

Skeptical we'll make it to 400 today. Probably better if we don't, in fact. Closing today above 370 would make me pretty happy already Smiley

I will bet you an Ouzo that we will surpass it, just in case you will come over and need an excuse to drink one... Wink

You're not fooling me. I know Ouzo is the stuff you give the tourists, while you reserve the good stuff for yourself Cheesy
Touche my friend. Rakhee it is for you then without Glycanissos... Wink

Hey. Did I ever tell you the fascinating story about how all good things Greek are actually Turkish Tongue

I'll keep the offer in mind, if we happen to be in Greece at the same time. Good chance I'll be in Athens again next year.

Agree. They come from Istanbul which comes from "Eις Tην Πόλιν".
You know where to find me. Wink

Post counts don't affect activity scores as much as consistently posting in every 14 day period.

A couple of posts per month will do as well as a thousand posts.

Some signature campaigns require at least X post count. Also people say that accounts with more or less same post as activity are shills, so post to boost post count only is reasonable

I vote for leaving bitcoin alone

We don't get to vote it would be a soft fork so only miners need make the change.
BlockStream have derived a way for miners to earn extra income by merge mining SideChains so it's a win win for them and the miners and a threat to Bitcoin as is.

No need to panic yet they are at least 6 months from testing before anything new is proposed.

Just a good idea to get educated.

The irony is to change the block size to allow Bitcoin to grow is a hard fork and requires the majority to agree.

I don´t know if anyone here cares, but pool distribution looks a lot healthier now than it did a month ago.

Unless "unknown" is actually just ghash or dicussfish to hide their true hashing power?

"unknown" has declined too. It´s all the smaller pools that have grown.

To me, the only thing that is suspicious is their dragging their feet about the FOIA request, and the enhanced emphasis, in this announcement, that they are not going to release any information to the public.  One would think that the People of the US have the right to know how much their property was sold for.

Other than that, the terms of the auction seem pretty standard and logical, in the bureaucrat's way of thinking.

Recall that the price shoot up by ~150$ before the previous announcement, dropped some 75$ the day after the announcement, but recovered fully the day after the auction, when they revealed that all the lots had been bought by one bidder.  I find it hard to square those numbers with the claim that the USMS is trying to keep the price down.

In at 344, out at 389, shorting now (and only for a short while) at 389 with a stop loss at 393... I think we hit a proximate top.

Quickly realized I spoke too soon -- $40 down the drain... no big. Up big on the day and looks like it'll keep moving now that we cleared 390.

Nice little upswing in prices, since the last time I actually looked at the charts.   I would love to see us remain stable at $400+, feels like a long time since we have been able to do that though...
