I think there is a great deal of regulatory risk with this token that people here aren't taking into account.
What risk? I dont see any risk. If there is, we all move to Japan! The risk is that the SEC brings an enforcement action against Iconomi for selling unregistered securities (ICX) or for operating as an investment adviser with respect to the platform. This could cause Iconomi to shut down completely. First of all did you look the rules of the platforme ? Let's me show you: 8. ELIGIBILITY 8.1 The Platform, the Website and DAAs are not offered for use to natural and legal persons, having their habitual residence or their seat of incorporation in the following countries: i) the United States So how SEC can do anythink to a compagny don't sell anythink in USA ?

Did Iconomi collect AML/KYC information on every ICO participant? How can they be sure that they did not sell to US investors? This will be a facts a circumstances situation. If they sold to US investors, they will be in violation of US securities laws regardless of whether they put a warning that US investors cannot invest.

How did your campaign to make SEC close down Kraken go? Not too good? Anyway welcome back By the way in the meantime ICONOMI switched from dividends to buybacks for compensating investors, and the SEC myth is no longer viable in the slightest.

To be clear I think this is a cool project and it fills a need in this growing industry (gaining exposure to assets by tracking an index). I have a very small amount invested for speculation, but I think this project will have to be dismantled in the mid- long-term and it will be replaced by something regulated. As a securities lawyer, in my opinion this is probably the most obvious target for an SEC enforcement. After this one, I would say Digix (which I'm also invested in). edit: spelling error

ICO was back in September, btw.. And they had KYC for fiat deposits above 1000 usd. The platform won't let anyone buy or sell any Iconomi product, such as ICNX before a phone verification, and US numbers are excluded from using Iconomi products. Probably additional tiers of verification are coming.

You are from US? The only thing you could do is hold you ICN You still can profit though, Just imagine if this ICN goes beyond $50 each. You can't be a fund manager unless you move to Japan for this matter.

Dude really? How the hell are you a securities lawyer but you have a small amount invested for speculation purposes?
You just contradicted everything that you supposedly warned us about. I'm not hating on your opinion but you are clearly FUDing.

I'll buy a fucking Canadian side-phone to verify or some shit.

If any coin thrives now in the bubble, it show it wont dissolve in the rain neither melt in the sun. The team has a working plan and it is quite relevant. There could have been some mistakes but the sky is wide enough to take them. very few exchanges however, liqui is another success exchange that is helping most ethereum platform project.

When it launches, it will be an ERC20 token on Ethereum, so everyone should have access to it.
