I managed to finally get through....barely, lol. Shares were accumulating and I had lots of coin in the bank, must just be massive lag..ddos, etc.

site is working for me but veeeeery slow Smiley will send some hashing to this pool later on again Smiley

Currently working on the server so it may exhibit strangeness and errors whilst I am playing Smiley

The root of the issue is probably poor scripting for writing shares into the db (none of us guys working on stratum are python programmers so we've just slapped a few simple lines in at the moment) and this is causing mysql to max out the cpu.

Due to being maxed out; and shares seeming to take precedence over requests for the website, the server has to wait for a spot to run its query (and usually a number of queries depending on which page your requesting - some of which probably need a bit of optimizing), and then compile the php page - at least thats what it looks like to me.

If anyone wants to help keep this server online, please feel free to pm me and I can let you know details where to send donations; any amount will be greatly appreciated and with enough support, I will be able to upgrade the machine.

Current Specs ($40/m): 4GB Memory, 2 Core CPU, 60GB SSD Disk
Next level ($80/m):  8GB Memory, 4 Core CPU, 80GB SSD Disk

PM'd you with a good offer Smiley

EDIT: forgot to add this to the PM,
you'd get 5 IPs too, and could install proxmox on the server, create multiple large VMs on it for your LTC pool and FeatherCoin pool Smiley

Sorry everyone - I have had to stop the Apache service to help clear the backlog of scripts that are running at the moment.

Once the backlog has cleared up, I will then be able to make a few changes (that I can see already), to help optimize the block update and payout scripts. Once these are working again in a timely fashion, then I will be able to restart Apache so you can then login to the site once again. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Please be aware that shares are still being accepted and recorded, it is just the script that is reading this data that is taking forever to run, which then slows down any following requests.

This should help,
Switch from Apache to Cherokee or Nginx

They both are lighter on resources and use far less CPU than others.

I'm not too sure about this part though,
Increase the cron frequency ? If its live every 5 minutes now, increase it to every 2 mins ?
That way your backlog will keep clearing out ?

Thanks, I shall look into those Smiley

I dont think it is actually Apache itself that is the problem. Just sloppy coding I think - the cron frequency was the problem - it was running a script that is taking over 30mins to run each time, and running it every 2 mins. Hence as time goes by, more and more versions of the script are running at the same time, making everything else slow down - sort of like trying to open hundreds of windows of firefox, and only closing 1 out of every 100 you open Smiley

For the moment, I will run the scripts manually to try and debug and optimise the code, but i need to wait for the existing backlog of scripts to finish running so that share data does not get misplaced along the way Smiley

So did I lose all the shares I submitted since 4am EST? Seems like that was my last payout.

Otherwise, the pool is very nice.

So far (as far as I can tell) no share data has been lost so once the scripts catch up payouts will resume again

Still working on it - ive optimised a portion of the code, just going through some manual checks now - still needs more work, but looking better. Hopefully get the front end back up in a couple of hours.

Thanks for your patience everybody.

Any news admin? I dont get paid since 5 and half hours ago, website is still down, but everything used to work perfectly.

Thanks for your efforts in keeping the pool working!

Still working on it - ive optimised a portion of the code, just going through some manual checks now - still needs more work, but looking better. Hopefully get the front end back up in a couple of hours.

Thanks for your patience everybody.

Any ETA on when all will be up and running again? Smiley
