Will the website you set up be a buy now website or is it only to check out how big the interest is? I mean the chips will come to you in a certain order anyway, so an early order with your shop cant be filled first when the chips are ordered later than others. So i wonder if the money will be collected from the start. I hope not.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

I think this is perfectly reasonable. If you placed an order first, your order is at the front of the line when your chips arrive.

Assuming there are 4 group buys of chips that get ordered, we'll cal them A, B, C, and D. If orders from customers involved in various group buys came in as follows:

1. A
2. A
3. B
4. C
5. A
6. D
7. B
8. C
9. B
10. A

If the B chips came in first, then the orders should be processed 3, 7, 9. assuming he gets to 7, and order C comes in, he should process 4. and 8 prior to getting to 9. If he only gets to 4, and then A chips come in, he should do 1, 2, and 5 before moving on, etc, etc.

Should be easy to keep track of. Orders stay in the queue they're in, but get passed over if there are other chips available. Once those chips are available, they are processed in their proper place in the queue.

The orders will be organized in two ways:
1. by chip-batch your Chips are in
2. by order-id

This is self explanatory Chip Batch order placement WILL be relevant. Even if all batch orders arrive at the same time (I asked this in the thread and Burnin confirmed that chip-batch placement will still be relevant in this case).

So i wonder if the money will be collected from the start. I hope not.

I figure the chips will get to him either way BUT the people who actually completed the order process on the site would be first come first serve. I say this because Burnin has NOTHING to do with zefir's batch order placement. Our batch placement is an arrangement we as buyers have with zefir. Burnins only service is to assemble, so again, I would assume Burnin would assemble them in order by orders placed on his site. If an order on his site comes up and their chips have NOT arrived- again, I would assume they would be skipped and the next order would begin.

That's just the way that it makes logical sense to me but please someone poke at the holes I might of missed so we can all get a better idea.

I didnt say another thing. Its only that some orders now with burnin as the first buyer and the batch with his asics is bought only now from avalon he most probably cant be the first getting their miner.
But when i have to pay now when the shop starts i probably wont. Its much time until the chips deliver and many offers will be available till then. So i dont want to be bound to a contract so early.

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

I'm in the same boat. But that should be a reward for those who are willing to make a binding agreement. They should receive priority over those who wait until the last minute, just because they happen to be in a favorable chip batch doesn't mean they should get to jump ahead of those who committed early on.

I'm still a fence sitter. I'm torn between this option, and the Klondike option. I'm not willing to commit to one or the other just yet, until I see actual results and proof of concept, which can't happen until Avalon releases the source.

Thats my point too. Nothing is shown till now by any developer. But i tend to klondike too. Im a bit unsure about burnin finally too because i contacted him via pm and twice in the thread to ask if i can visit him to check out his place and get a feeling about this all. He didnt react to this question. So being forced to pay without anything to ensure me... i doubt. On the other hand... if its only claiming interest in the miner without having to pay now would be another thing...

I tried to scan the thread but I didn't catch where in Germany burnin is located. Also, is a pickup of the complete boards possible in person? I'm trying to plan my summer vacation Wink

He is in hamburg. I would bring chips to him maybe too but till now i didnt get an answer for questions regarding visiting him. Another one in my groupbuy lives in hamburg too and would like to visit him, making fotos and so of its workspace. If i would get a yes for it i could inform him.

*cough*  SCAM  *cough*

Seriously, his mock-up looks like it was made by a 13 year old in Google Sketchup.
And check his post history. There are some inconsistencies:

At first he says, there will be "no pretty" websites, but now there will be one.
Why? So he scam people outside of Bitcointalk.

In his first post he says he's a Bitstream Developer.
Now he's an electrical engineer...

Also, the original run was for 500. Now it's for 1000.
I guarantee there will be no record of how many orders have actually been received.

Don't be surprised if he only accepts BTC when the time comes.
Who says they accept "fiat"? They would accept "euros" or "deutsche marks".

MOST IMPORTANTLY, he seems to ignore any questions about his real-life identity or credentials.

Will scam.
Watching closely.

SebastianJu,

Personally, I was hoping to hedge my bets between two developers, in case one can't deliver, or ones unit is superior in some way.
I'm sure plenty of others here have a similar plan (if not, I'd urge you all to consider it), are you fine with split shipping from your groupbuy?

And just who the fuck are you?

Just another newbie, if you dont trust burning or dont trust this project please post in the newbie section.

1. You will order from an officially registered company in Germany, the order is a legal contract between the customer (you)
and the company (me) that both sides have to honor, or face legal consequences.
2. I won't receive any chips until July, and I will demonstrate a working Miner with the sample chips from Avalon by that time.
You are free to have your chips sent elsewhere if I don't.

Where in Germany are you located? in Hamburg

Some people in this threat are going to Hamburg this summer and public photos so shut up and wait.

PM: who the fuck are u?

I'm noob. A nobody...
But I've been buying Bitcoin since it was $5 and that makes me an elder compared to these fly-by-night scammers that are showing up.

jorgeantolini-
When you just copy+paste Burnin's text (like from this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179769.msg1935789#msg1935789), it is really confusing. It's as if you are typing as Burnin himself.

Why won't he name his "officially registered company"?
Or at least the "Avionic and Military" companies in Germany he wants to contract?

Please refer to the post below:

This is coming from SebastianJu. Not some nobody like you or me.
If the person organizing a huge group buy reaches out, you should answer.

He claims to want to keep his design closed-source initially. That I can understand.
But to stay quiet about his identity, exact location (there are bitcoiners that want to meet him), and company, when that information will soon be required anyways, is a huge red flag.

You guys should seriously considering waiting for (or asking for) more proof:
A video of the finished prototype hashing, some more plans or schematics that won't give away his work, or at least a friggin' resume...

Two other things to consider:
1. Why would he only accept BTC for his chips but both BTC+fiat for boards?
2. How come he hasn't disclosed how many chips he has bought from Zefir himself?
3. All his images are uploaded and hosted from Anonymouse.org

I may be paranoid, or he may be genuine.
In either case, one thing is certain-
You guys need to be vigilant and have a healthy skepticism when dealing with anything Bitcoin-related.

Burnin, can you chime in?

Hi. He will set up an order page.

German laws considering company information on commercial websites is EXTREME. You have from tax numbers, owners, adresses, phone numbers, bank details, people responsible for design and content and registration numbers, everything on there. It costs you about 5000€ every time a malicious lawyer sees a site that does not have these, it is very dangerous and one of the most dangerous things about having a webshop in Germany: People hunting your "Impressum." They hunt you down like it is a sport and make you pay. I know some lawyers that do nothing else than that. If you want some stories, google "Abmahnanwälte."

From the moment Burnin registers his company, I will be able to file a search with the registry in Hamburg. It costs about 20 bucks and will list all company information necessary to make an informed decision. If people here want, we can also ask for several registries, like Identscores from Schufa, Creditreform or other institutions. These are used between parties to ensure that no fraud allegations or nonpayments have been recorded with these institutions. In Germany, having an entry with these companies basically ruins your life until the dispute is solved. No mobile contracts anymore, no bank account opening, general refusal of everyone who has a postpaid contract with you to work with you. No line of credit, refusal of credit cards.

I hate these institutions with a vengeance, because they cause a lot of damage. But if it is necessary, we can agree that Burnin simply gets so called "letter for business partners" from one of these institutions. That is normal business practice between first time business partners in Germany.

Having an online company over here is an incredible pain in the ass i have went through myself, so once the page is up, I can help. And I will be the first to tell him if there are any impressum problems.

Patience.

Let him get set up... post what he has then you can start throwing rocks. Guys put up what he can when he can... hasn't asked for cash has he? Nope. So give it a rest. Chips are 1 to 2 months out from shipping for christ sake and if you feel the need for DIY Avalon Asic porn go to BKKcoins thread. Get the low down on his board till Burin is ready. Not everyone is BFL are they?
