It would be very important to know what is exactly needed. What kind of connectors, Power supplies
USB cables and so on. Does burnin also sell these things? F.e. What is needed for 4 20chips Boards?

Excuse me if those questions were already answered.

Exactly, I wanted to point this up as well. I'm sure there is a significant part of customers who would like to see some detailed information about additional equipment necessary to run Bitburners, like proper power supply, connectors, cables, usb-stuff etc. I know there is still time but it is crucial to have everything ready when the shipment will start. I think burnin should post a detailed guide covering this kind of stuff because some things may be confusing for less experienced miners.

Looking at the PCB, there are lots of power options.  An ATX psu being the obvious one.

I would guess when the web site is up to place orders, it will become clear what you need.

Guys, I think you need to wait until burnin launch website. All the necessary parts including cables and power supplies (most likely) will be available. Or at least will be available images with instructions.

Quit? Let the riot begin:

The Firmware is not yet production ready cgminer throws a shitton of errors on starting.
AND the chip currently runs at 128Mhz because its not properly cooled, i have tested it at 256mhz too and it works but its too hot for long tests.

Now the bad news:
I will very likely not get the boards tomorow so we have to wait until Monday.

Burnin states that the chip runs to hot to have proper tests at 256mhz, so thinking that it will be possible to run these things without appropriate cooling is a bit of a pipe dream in my opinion, especially for anyone looking for that magical 450mhz I've seen posted in another thread.

Yeah, but what cooling was he using at the time?  It was a test - he may not have had a full size heatsink attached.

was wondering how long it'd take people to notice ( and more importantly share the constant that we've released on github.)

the number you are all aiming for is 450 Tongue of course, that's not really possible on just air cooling.

The Avalon team is also confirming that 450 is not possible on air cooling.

and even more important than the cooling, will the power design of the board,(regulator, caps, resistors, ect....) be able to keep up with the increased power demand per chip as they are over clocked?  Looking at Bkkcoins project he mentions that he believes it would be possible but by reducing the number of chips on the board from 16 to 14, or spend additional money on different parts on the board to supply the power.

burnin already addressed power on the previous page.  Upped it to 3A per chip.

Test was probably with no cooling at all.
It was a test with chip in 'deadbug' mode:

Hopefully the assembly and payment gateway are good to go soon.  steamboat's USA group buy opened their payment gateway today.  Chips may be shipped very soon since samples were projected by Avalon to ship 3 weeks prior to the order.  Time crunch time!

One should mention too that the heatsinks of avalon miners are poorely attached to the vias like a customer checked. He took of the heatsink and found that the paste wasnt everywhere, half of the chips didnt even have contact with the heatsink. Its astonishing that such overclocking worked at all with the miners. If thats done properly much more might be possible.

When i see 20 chips of bitburner xx needs 40W. What will it need when running at the potential 450MHz instead 282MHz? Can one set it into relation simply?

And the needed ampere (something that has to be taken into account by chosing the psu) is 3.33333 at 12V right? (40W / 12V) This needed ampere can be set in relation again right?

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

If you're going to offer dedicated cases with water cooling - count me as your first customer. Wink

Unfortunately im not a pro that could create something like this. But im searching a solution for putting the miners into a server rack 19" broad. Such serverspace isnt expensive so it would be a good solution. Im not sure if datacenters would be happy with fluids in their racks. So i hope i get a solution with aircooled miners that can be overclocked too.

I would be happy with ANY case for Bitburners.
I'm sure many others as well.
