I think that it would decrease the value of bitcoin because people will die and a lot of chaso will be in the world. So everyone will start to sell their coins and stuff to survive.
If you leave your coins you probably have no value left after a few years.

Hi ! First message here. If a global disaster would happen on earth ( And I somehow don't wish it ) Would the value increase or decrease ? I'm not talking about solar flares or EMP. But more like big wars or great natural disaster. What are your opinions on the subject ? The whole increase and decrease depends upon the extent of the disaster that happens and where it happens . If the disaster happens in a country who is a major contributor for the bitcoin then obviously it will decrease . Increment due to natural disaster or war is not possible . And it is not fixed that it will decrease due to disaster , maybe it remains stable as the disaster may occur where there is no utilization of bitcoin (like small islands or countries).

But more like big wars or great natural disaster. What are your opinions on the subject ? I think the price would increase a lot. You can look to what normally happens to gold when a war is imminent. People normally buy it, so they can keep their investment safe, because they know their currency will probably be weaker during that war. Since bitcoin is decentralized, people will do just that with bitcoin, and since it's easier to buy than gold, we will probably see even more people buying BTC than gold. You can also analyze what is happening in countries that are dealing with crises and inflation right now. The effect on their economy is the same as if they were facing a disaster on their country, and you see that they are turning to bitcoin as a safe net. So if you go from local events to global ones, the effect is the same, but at a larger scale. So if what you are describing would happen, the price of BTC would have a huge increase in my opinion.

global disaster mean this is happened to almost all of the countries in the world and i think yes possibly it will decrease the value of cryptocurrency because when global disaster happened most of people only concern how to save their own life without care for their wealth and if it is so then bitcoin will being worthless and lack of interest also the damage effect is there's no internet connections which being the main thing to use bitcoin
Bitcoin is a cosmetic wealth it is useful only when there is disturbance to the world. God forbid if any disaster happens, if it is manmade or natural bitcoin and bitcoin owners will be affected the most from it. Look at how small things affects bitcoin price even the small rumors drag it price low by a thousand dollar in an hour. Bitcoin is a virtual currency designed to be used in an ideal condition. In disasters after life saving people look for the concrete and solid assets which could help them in survival. Gold and fiat are the least affected assets in a disastrous situation. The vulnerability and susceptibility of bitcoin to the socioeconomic condition is very high. Disaster brings an epidemic effect on the economy of the universe and as for as bitcoin is concerned when a person is mentally dispersed so he will be unable to think about the proper time of investment and trading. Further more if there is no internet facility then it will be impossible for the people to participate in bitcoin business.

If there is a great war as you said, surely people will be busy with the safety of each persons rather than thinking about their assets. because safety is the most important thing rather than assets Certainly global disaster have effects on every aspect of life and especially in that kind of harmful situation no one will be in sense to take care of bitcoin and consequently bitcoin price will be decreased drastically. When the situation would go rather towards stability so bitcoin will recover its position again because in normal and stable conditions a man can think about assets enhancement. In disastrous conditions a man just can think about his family and his own life, not more than this.

It depends on how or what will happen after a global disaster because we cant be sure if the bitcoin market or trader get panic selling or buying by that time. Bitcoin can be wipe if we had an EMP attack worldwipe which will disable all of the electronic device .

A global disaster would undoubtedly increase the value of Bitcoin, because the fiat currencies of he world would become extremely volatile and much harder to use because stores and exchanges would be closed.

We can't certainly predict disaster where and when it comes. It is very important to be prepare always as it always possible to happen anytime. And this one factor that could affect the trend of bitcoin in the market. Of course, bitcoin price in that time would be possible to fall down but it only take a few days. Is just because not all areas will be affected and it could not give a huge impact to the entire bitcoin community.

I think it will since there will be no people to use it during a worldwide disaster so its market demand will fall as long as its msrket value. But the thing that matter is that people will no longer think of how will they earn money during disaster such as investing or using Bitcoin, what will they probably do is to get food and shelter for their families and money won't be that used.

Any disaster, global or otherwise, will affect different areas differently. I think the standard advice is the best - hedge. Hold some currency, some precious metals and some bitcoin. The proportions will depend on personal preferences and local conditions.

I'd say it would also depend on the timing of this global disaster. If it happens say, when Bitcoin is already widely used AND recognised, then yeah Bitcoin value would pump, if the countries affected by this global disaster would seek out Bitcoin.
But assuming that this widespread calamity is causing a demand for non fiat because banking and finance structures would be crippled, it's difficult to see how Bitcoin would be the alternative, since I'm also assuming the network itself would be equally affected. Nodes cut off, mining operations halted. This might be enough for people to perceive it as less secure, and could affect price too.
That's still the advantage of gold as a safe haven, always there and always accepted.

Yes, the impact would be really big and could decrease the value of bitcoin because of the government, economy's movement, and the people are obliged to serve one's country living the industry paralyzed.

A global disaster will surely lead to price increase, if there is not much damage has happened to the electronic products that were available around the globe. Because with this surely can make a price pumping as everything seems to be in a collapse.

Sure. Is this even a question? Global disasters are one of the most important factors affecting the economy even in the past. Of course, if a global disaster emerges, bitcoin will also be affected.

A global disaster would either completely decimate Bitcoin value or it would make it skyrocket. It all depends on how the market reacts at that time and we won't know until it happens.
On one hand, I think lots of people would turn to Bitcoin to be able to transact without the need for the government which might not always be available if resources are unavailable, but also if the internet is out then Bitcoin is not really practical so it is very hard to say.

Definitely global disasters will affect the market value of Bitcoin because as we all know Bitcoin and crypto currency value fluctuations is determine by the demand and supply and at the same time technical issues, fundamental issues like global disasters you were talking about are all factors that influence the value of Bitcoin and altcoins.
