Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ?

I don't think a global disasters will affect the bitcoins value in the market even in a positive and negative scenario because disasters are happened only in a one place at a time

not sure if you already read title of the topic carefully . it says "global disaster"  global means all over the world . that also means that the disaster is happening all together , not one at a time  .

if that happens  , i believe it can cause negative impact on the crypto market and the price of the coins will all fall or will become stable instead because crypto users will be busy cleaning up and fixing the problems that the disaster have cause on their place .

It depends on the type of disaster faced by earth.
But somehow i think it might decrease the value of bitcoin since people will need more money to buy a lot of supplies for future due to which they will sell the bitcoins and thus it will affect the price.
I hope it never happen 

maybe in my opinion not only a disaster and war that can affect the development of crypto currencies even from the government can also occur if the government has banned and sanctioned violations of course the crypto currency will disappear

Well, this is huge than what you and I think or believe because we're talking about global disaster which I believe if it occur it will definitely cause decrease in price of bitcoin value because every aspect of bitcoin have to do with the internet. Besides, do you remember what happened to the bitcoin market when the US workers salaries were not pay acouple of days not to mention global disaster.

I don't think you need to think about that. You already said it, it will not last long. If there will be something that will affect it very badly, it will be the legalization and also another world war, I guess nuclear war will also be a problem. I know that it is far from happening except the legalization but that I think will be the ones that will affect badly the value of Bitcoin.

- Agree, a global disaster is going to have an impact on all countries around the world and we can read the news about the disaster that happened in the past, the consequences of disasters are huge, loss of property and people is terrible. And the value of crypto will decrease as you say because people sell their crypto to recover the damage caused by the disaster, some others will not be able to access their crypto account when they have lost the necessary tools and passwords, with a large number of crypto missing in the disaster, the crypto market will be bleak and unable to maintain stability

If there is such thing the whole world will be in worry and all kind of investments will crash mostly the stock market so obviously cryptocurrencies prices also will fall since the demand will get reduced the tine of natural calamities but I hope the prices won't fall too much since people can't sell even at that time.

I think the price of Bitcoin will remain the same or increase. because it is a product of technology. Natural disasters cannot affect technology, but only affect real estate, gold and existing assets.
We will see the price of Bitcoin increase sharply because people will gradually sell real estate and assets just to buy Bitcoin and hold. demand more than supply, => its price will rise very high.

This would only happen if the world is near or about to end that the whole electricity and internet structure is disturbed. There are too many backup available that the whole world will never face such a issue. In can happen in few places because of War or anything like that, but impossible for happen to the whole world at the same time.

I agree that everything depends from disaster, but in this point I think we can say that almost every decrease in crypto value will be just temporary, when things get back on the track prices will go up again. It`s what happens in every crisis, prices go down, when crisis pass prices go back where they were and go even higher. After night full of dark we always see day full of light, it`s a never ending cycle, if you are not prepared to survive bad days, good days will not be so good for you.

yes it affects directly to bitcoin especially in terms where you need to convert bitcoin for the need to attend like buying goods, products or services for the said disaster. THere is no good things that happen in disaster that is why it is not being called as disaster for nothing.

I don't think it would have any effect on Bitcoin price. If a disaster would happen and it was as big as you think it was, then the world would be on famine and nobody would even think about investing in Bitcoin aside from Rich people. People would think about how to buy food for their families and not about crypto anymore.

Actually there is no direct connection between natural disasters and the bitcoin market, because what affects the market directly is that news about crypto has an effect on the user's psyche, but if the disaster occurs in a place that has a large number of crpto users, it might affect the market indirectly

These days, with our dependency on electricity and the weapons at the disposal of the big belligerents who'd probably be involved in the next world war, I don't think you can really separate war from a disaster that would cripple not only the internet but electrical grids all over the world.  So I think if a global disaster happened that took the form of world war III, bitcoin would be screwed.  If nuclear weapons are ever used again, that EMP that you didn't want introduced into this discussion would most likely happen. 

Even if the grid was hacked and the electric system was knocked out, bitcoin would be essentially useless in the parts of the world that were affected.  At the very least the price would crash if a large fraction of traders couldn't trade anymore.

On the other hand, take a look at what's happening in Venezuela, which really is in crisis.  They're not using crypto on a massive scale.  From what I've seen from reports, citizens are using US dollars as currency.  So I bet that if a huge crisis were to hit a country like the United States, Americans would probably resort to using some other foreign currency that still has value.  As long as a currency is backed by a government, it still has worth.  It doesn't even matter which government it is as long as that gov't is stable and honors its debts.

the price is actually not too influential, because bitcoin is not tied to agencies or government. so whatever happens to the global economy, it will not affect bitcoin. it's just that the effect is on the person himself, investors will decline because they will certainly attract it when the economic situation is in a difficult situation.
