Why people are still buying BTC?

Probably, it is because Bitcoin is the Father of all cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin also have the highest value in terms of virtual digital currency.

Then most of the time Bitcoin for others is really a good investment if we hold it in a long term for sure in the end we will gain a big reward.

Bitcoin isn't useless. A lot of countries are trying to adapt to make it more convenient to use BTC. For example, there are train stations where you can pay with your BTC. Just because bitcoin went really low from like 20k last year doesn't mean it's dead. Also, better buy it at low and sell it at high. But of-course don't spend money you can't live without. And I believe people want change from fiat currency.

People are still buying BTC because BTC is the number 1 coin in the coinmarketcap and it has the big value in the market, when you invest in BTC and hodl it you will earn big if you know how to invest properly BTC has the high volume of coins in the market not unlike the other coins there are only few coins in the market that is also the reason why the price of the coin is low.

To me, it seems pretty strange that people actually continues buying btc now...
I understood why they wanted to invest in btc before, after the Chyprus crisis, and all the articles in the media. But now?

I don't get it.


Bitcoin is useless, and will most likely never be used as a currency. I spent hours trying to get my first bitcoins (satoshi actually), and after working for ages, I only got 0.002 btc, which does not even allow me to proceed to a transaction (the fees are higherthan that amount  ). When you compare it with CC or paypal, it seems that they are free to use in comparison! Not to mention the time required to actually proceed to a transaction which can be anything between 1 minute and ... 1 year (or more?).

The only possible reason I see people are buying btc is that they (truly) believe that the price will increase, and want to make more profit. I think that 99.99 % of the bitcoins exchanged are never withdrawn from the exchangers, and the people are only waiting to make some profits. What makes them believe that the price will rise? Because the amount of bitcoins is limited? Because lost coins can never be recovered? I have no clue.


An other problem is the "mining" part. Soon, the difficulty will increase, CPU and GPU mining will be useless. People will stop mining bitcoins and try LTC or something easy to get... The interest in btc will decrease.


Other issues:
- security. Not a single company was able to provide a "professional" service. Bitcoin-24 has a serious problem ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=174600.0 ). Even mtgox was critized for the lags, problems with missing coins, money, delay, and so on ... The hacks are countless (you can see new topics about that every day ...).


I can't see anything positive about btc, and still can't get why people are buying it. Can any captain obvious explains? Thanks.

People are still buying bitcoin because they are believing of the good returns bitcoin has to offer for holders. Bitcoin really make people rich and lots of people are still wanted to know more about bitcoin and its business. For me this time that the price is low is the best time to buy for bitcoin and hold it for a long time or for the right time to sell.

I agree, look what is happening right now, we cannot please all people to look bitcoin and ethereum how we see it, but the most important thing is we made good profit because we keep believing in bitcoin.

YES...as of now that bitcoin is very low there are a lot of people who are very interested to buy bitcoin even the price is like that because they know that if the price will go up they can sell there bitcoin for a very nice price.

I don't know that until now there are a lot of people who are very interested in bitcoin even they know that bitcoin now is very low,but what i think is they know that this coming month the price of bitcoin will go higher and higher so they can sell there bitcoin for a verygood price they want.
