I'm going to guess that due to the nature of this forum, there will be a lot of comic book fans.

What I don't get is how they've managed to absolutely dominate Hollywood when I genuinely have never met a single human being who reads them.

Everyone knows Superman. I doubt 99.85% of my fatherland's population would've had the slightest clue who Doctor Strange was before he was shoved down their throats.

I've attempted a few but it's never going to be a medium that'll ever work for me. And when I look things up on Wikipedia I start getting a headache trying to wrap my head around Logan being in Hell after having died 762 times before he was born, but that's before he splits off and becomes 17 different bus conductors who all turn on him or something.

Are you voracious consumers of them? If you do, do you have the slightest clue what's going on in them most of the time?

When I was younger I was into comic books but the last series I collected was "Crisis on infinite earths".  About 6 years ago I gave them to a friend who is an avid collector - this guy has boxes and boxes and boxes full.  Funny thing is, if I try to talk to him about Bitcoin, he gets angry. He never wanted anything to do with it and he's an IT guy too! I don't mention it too often but I did the other day because I had to let him know it surpassed gold then he tells me it will die.  Funny.

In my childhood, I loved comics very much. It's great to cheer up and relax. Now I do not devote too much time to this.

Comics was part of my generation and since I really love to read when I was just young I devoured all the comics I can find then. But most of them were locally produced comics which used our national language. Comics at my time were part of our culture and many of the stories were even made into blockbuster movies. Comics can play a big part in promoting reading habits and can cultivate creative imagination.

I downloaded a whole pack of The Amazing Spider Man comic books to read on my smartphone when I'm bored at work. I think it was all the issues from 1963 to 2009 or so. It's about 200 books and I'm currently mid 70s. I still haven't got to the point where he loses those weird webbing things under his suit's armpits.

It's pretty good, they've aged well in my opinion. You can look for these on some tracker if you're interested. TPB will probably have them.

Never was huge into collecting them (even though I wanted, but didn't have the money), but I did borrow a few and bought at garage sales. The one that I stuck with was Dylan Dog.
Started reading when I was a kid and since I was a huge fan of monsters, it's not a mystery how I got into Dylan's odd job of a detective for paranormal cases. Plus I bet the scenes with the various girls he picked up had an impact too, ha.

I did stop reading them in the later years, but it's mostly because I got interesting in a dozen of other activities and there simply wasn't much time to sit down, relax and enjoy a good comic.

I promised myself that I will, this summer!

I read a lot when I was young. It was the time when there were no TV (where I lived) or cellphones. My father used to scold me a lot for reading comics. Are these school text books? Will you get through the examinations if you read comics? he used to shout. Some of my father's friends told him that I was just looking at the pictures instead of reading the text also. How wrong they were.

I was a huge fan of Marvel X-men universe and read every story that existed.  This was during the birth of New-Mutants, and eventually X-Force... and eventually a billion other comics.  I'm kind of a maximalist so it was all or nothing for me.  I couldn't afford to keep up so gave up.  Many years later with an established job I could afford to jump back in so I started reading X-Men universe again and I was shocked how politically correct the stories were.  I tried to divorce my own world-view so I could just enjoy the story but I gave up when a story revolved around a bigoted Christian who blew up a bus load of mutant children, while a peaceful Muslim was advocating for peace and coexistence.  It wasn't subtle either; the story hammered home several times that Christians are bigoted and that this is normal, not the actions of an individual.  I gave up and haven't gone back.  Now I see they're replacing all the established characters with SJW and I'm not even considering going back.

If you do, do you have the slightest clue what's going on in them most of the time?

yeah I love comics, I used to read more when i was younger.. now ..i still do but way much less.i am a serious superman fanatic, but am also somewhat partial to Spider-Man. read comics book is fun, It's nice to break away from real life.

Been trying so hard this time to read comics that I would love to read. But I did read Superior Spiderman. No spoilers here but please, for all spidey fans, please do read Superior Spiderman! It's an amazing take on how would Spiderman be Spiderman if it was Doc Ock taking control of Peter Parker.

I've also read The New 52 Batman. It's a great reboot of the Batverse. However, right now, I'm planning to read Dark Knights: Metal, a Scott Snyder comic. Think of it as a darkverse where all the main villains are darkverse batmen.

Comic books have never interested me. I prefer reading novels, especially mystery books, that allow me to use my own imagination about the characters and the settings.

I read comics as a kid, but not many of the stereotypical ones you'd think of. I DID read Batman and Superman, but really not much else of the mainstream Marvel and DC Universe. I enjoyed the XMen cartoons as a kid, but never delved into the comics. The "death of a superman" story arc was a big one for me as a kid. Doomsday etc.

My dad actually was heavily involved in the comic book industry, mainly before I was born. He was the largest mail-order comic retailer on the East Coast in the 70's and 80's. He actually got a copy of Superman 3 stolen from him and was held at gunpoint. Thankfully the police helped him recover it.

My dad ran this mail-order business, as well as opening a few different comic book shops. The businesses eventually closed, and he sold his personal comic collection for $20k in the mid 1990's.

Yeah i am a heavy fan of comic books and graphic novels, i still have the old dc/marvel/vertitgo comics. I collect them.
Today its all about tpb, i just missed the old style when you buy issue by issue and you wait weekly for the release.
Today you can download comics for free, but nothing beats reading in paper and ink. Good stuff.

Before all these marvel movies came out, I've really enjoyed reading graphic novels. I've read civil war, infinity wars, Injustice among others. But I'm not one of those comic book snobs that hate on the ones that are fans of the marvel franchise.

I mainly read them after the MCU universe movies. I really enjoyed them but some graphic novels tend to have too much information. I got used to manga and manhwa. I like dark comics especially anti Heroes. Group comics have lesser background for characters so i stay away from them

I prefer reading manga than traditional western comics, I find it dull and boring unlike japanese and korean manga they really know how to make good panels and exciting stories.

I used to love comics when I was a kid, but then the stress of life made it impossible for me to get lost in one.
Honestly, I'm not into Comic books. For me, every comic books are boring and not fun to read. I prefer reading evangelism bible because it will benefit my life and it thought me very important lessons that Comic books never thought me.

Sure! I'm a huge fan of the Heavy Metal stuff, but also Alan Ford, Dylan Dog, and DC & Marvel classics.
On the other hand, I never really got hooked on manga.

I downloaded an entire pack of The Amazing Spider Man comic books to peruse on my cell phone when I'm exhausted at work. I think it was every one of the issues from 1963 to 2009 or somewhere in the vicinity. It's around 200 books and I'm at present mid 70s. Despite everything I haven't came to the heart of the matter where he loses those unusual webbing things under his suit's armpits.

I've been reading comics since childhood, even until now I still read comics, but I don't read comic books I just read through the internet, one of the comics that I still read until now is a comic one piece

When I was a child I always read comic books even in the time of study. But now, not really. But I still like to watch animation/comic films. And I also like super hero movies  Cheesy

I have a couple of boxes full of comic books when I was a kid. There's just so much to do that I can't get into reading them. Just being an adult and stressed out. If I become successful in this Bitcoin thing, then hopefully I can sit back and relax.

Yes, I enjoy reading comics, I think reading comics better, plugging my eyes into electronic devices, reading books is good for our health and helps us relax, now reduces readership. since they have smartphones
