One reason is simply long term investment. It can be tough to hold and not want to sell for some (or all) profits and original capital allocation, but there are tons of investors doing this I'm sure. I have often commented on other threads and had conversations where I discuss that I don't think it would be a bad thing for bitcoin to be ''only an investment'' rather than an investment and full-time currency - though I am sure that there are arguments against this. But if bitcoin were to only be an investment and store of value, then that is a reason why you would see people holding.

And even as it gains more and more acceptance as a full-time currency, there is still incentive for people to hold as the value goes up. Spending later could allow for more buying power. Nothing in this post is meant to be investment advice.

Bitcoin is always best as an long term investment and you cannot expect to make huge profits from it in short term and if you manage to save your bitcoins for next couple or years then it will give you very high profits on your investments so do not sell your coins now and save it for future to gain higher benefits from it.

I am one those who are saving bitcoin in my wallet for a long time. Why ? Because first I still don't need money so why to cash it out ? Secondly, I will become my saving. Lastly the most important thing is that bitcoin increases its price and I am waiting for it for a chance to double or triple the amount of money I have.
