curious never had masternode.
but if your coins are in a masternode are they also stake? or is it if if
The collateral for masternode is immutable, so i suspect that it won't participate in staking. But anyway, masternode brings you more coins than just staking. At least, staking in NIST5 wallet. XEVAN's wallet staking is not active yet, so i can't test this.

It's strange, why people buying old XLR for 2.2$ for swapping and not buying new XLR (on coinsmarkets) for 1.6$. lol, true... Think t is because coinsmarket is not so well-known so far... But they are very active, I am sure they will attract MANY new users soon... I think partly because old wallet still allows you to stake, while new don't yet.

I think it's mostly due to CoinExchange.io being a known entity with vastly higher daily volume when compared to Coinsmarket. I believe that the majority of people prefer not to have to open accounts with dozens of different exchanges as it's far simpler to just stick with a few bigger ones for all your trading needs.

Where's the other guide for masternode setup? I'm trying to set it up on my local machine, can't seem to get it to work. (Yeah, I don't want to get a VPS just yet, I'm trying to get it to run at home first.) Would appreciate it if someone can guide me how to do this on a Windows 10 machine. If I need to set up a Linux environment, I can also do that, probably will use Debian or something small.

I used the following guide: https://mega.nz/#!JXwVxRgT!uZUfnNHnfL_yONRZkWxUIXimjmQ6_Dmpmfd_9HqsgfsThe same link can be found on page 1 under specifications (I am not the author of the guide). Step 1: Make sure your wallet is fully synced. Step 2: Go to File > Receiving Addresses > Click on New to generate new address Name it whatever you want, for example MN1 Step 3: Send exactly 1000 xlr(xevan) to the address generated. If you have multiple addresses in one wallet you will basically just send 1000 xlr to yourself minus small fee's. Total debit must be -1000 Total credit must be 1000 Wait for about 15 plus confirmations. Step 4: Generate masternode private key: Go to the debug console and type in: masternode genkey Also in the debug console type in: masternode outputs Step 5: Edit the configuration file masternode.conf (default directory is: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\solaris) Masternode.conf example: MN1 Your_IP_address:60020 <masternode genkey> <masternode outputs> Step 6: Edit the configuration file solaris.conf. rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=ANY_LONG_USERNAME rpcpassword=ANY_LONG_PASSWORD staking=1 server=1 listen=1 port=port masternode=1 masternodeaddr=YOUR_EXT_IP:PORT (I use ip_address:80) externalip=YOUR_EXT_IP:PORT (I use ip_address:80) masternodeprivkey= <masternode genkey> addnode=78.145.45.173 addnode=92.108.70.246 addnode=89.169.62.37 addnode=89.65.73.101 Last step: Re-start wallet > goto Masternodes tab > start your alias/masternode. A good way to check if your masternode is running is to check your masternode last seen timestamp with the other masternodes. For me it took 7 hours before first masternode payment showed up. So be patient Let me know if you have any problems.

You can successfully setup a masternode on your local machine if it stays connected to the Solaris network all the time and if your ISP doesn't change your IP address. This is the reason why most of us use VPS to run masternodes If you want to use your local machine, follow the steps outlined by @PotatoM12

It's supposed to be tomorrow; I haven't heard anything different from that. If you have coins on there now they should be swapped for you. If you have coins in your own wallet, you can swap them easily with the swapping tool that is posted on the first page of this thread.

Luckily though they seem to have checksum built into the old XLR wallets I tried to withdraw to wallet directly by mistake earlier this week without going to the swapout site first. But realistically the swapout site works just as well and is just as easy to use if you really didnt feel like waiting until the coinexchange swapout just make sure not to use the site with coinsmarkets that already on the new chain I believe.

I guess, if you use a router, you'll also need to forward 60020 port to your local machine to allow incoming connections to your masternode.
