Coinomi...safe?
Or just ledger
I would go for a Ledger hardware wallet.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Before I noticed that the price of VTC and VIA was kinda synced all the time. If VIA fell, then also VTC and vice versa. Then something happened a few weeks ago and VTC went up, leaving VIA in the dust. VTC is dominating, but now I have a hunch that VIA is soon going to lift off. What do you other guys think? VIA has had some very nice features implemented and yet is more to come.

I noticed the same before as well and they do seem to be very similar coins. I think I am going to jump back into Viacoin, I wouldn't be surprised if it is trailing vertcoin and will soon have a very significant rise.

This is obviously a scam. Can't believe that people will fall for this one.

Can you elaborate more? How can this be a scam? Do you know the history of this coin? Do some research before spreading FUD.

I can't get the cryptochainer bootstrap to work. It doesn't like that blocks/index is a file rather than a folder.

I believe VTC rise is about Segwit and Lightning implementation, facilitating atomic swap testing with LTC.

VTC has early-mover advantage in something that may happen in many alts. VIA is not in that testing and unlikely to catch-up to VTC now.

viacoin has already implemented and activated both segwit and lightning network a while ago,
and did successful atomic swaps with ltc and dcr

...on a network thats orders of magnitude bigger, stronger and more secure

...not to mention, atomic swaps would not be possible without viacoin's original opcode CheckLockTimeVerify which was implemented 3 years ago.

Will this time be different? Would be nice to move out a bear market soon! Seems like every time Viacoin has a good day it is immediately knocked right back down.

Ye, I have noticed the same. It seems that someone has been selling big chops of VIA for quite some time now... Once that selling ends, I guess it is time to rise

Likely just people that move from via to btc to get some btc gold. More cheap coins for us. I managed to fill my bags with some extra around 15k, so I'm a happy camper.

I have a question about the circulation and total supply of VIA.

Coinmarket cap shows 22,867,191 VIA in circulation.

This is from the first page of bitcoin talk for VIA.
Specifications:
Name: Viacoin
Symbol: VIA
Algorithm: Scrypt (POW)
Block time: 24 seconds (25x faster than Bitcoin)
Difficulty retarget: AntiGravityWave (every block)
Total supply: 23,000,000
Circulating Supply March 2017: 22,487,679

It seems the circulation supply is so getting close to the total supply of the coin. Won't it be difficult to increase the price if that happens?

No, because the mining is merged with Litecoin, which basically means people that use that type of mining will get an additional VIA reward on top of their regular Litecoin reward. Basically it's free money for those miners. This will assure that they will keep mining it, keeping our chain secure.

Hello Romano!

Great work you doing man!

How is the Atomic Swap and new wallet going?

Best regards!!!

Atomic swaps have already tested and have been confirmed working: https://twitter.com/viacoin/status/915218276267053056

If you mean the Core 0.15 update by 'new wallet', that's being worked on and I think Romano is aiming for a release before the end of the year. It's a huge update so I can only imagine the amount of work that is being put in.

Maybe I didn't made that very clear, but I was referring to the update of Lightning Network Daemon and the integration of Atomic Swap in the wallet, I know it is possible now, but not actually for regular people that don't know coding, a User Interface for the Atomic Swap in the wallet, that's what I mean.
