i have question from who working with this pool more than a month,
im working with btc.com with 5 s9 antminer,

is CKPOOL a good choice ( 5 miner ) for me in this scale or keep mining in btc like past ?

How about Minimum Payment? how ckpool checkout?

you should migrate 1 miner a month  for 5 months in a row.

I could go on a long explanation as to why you want to be on this pool by feb or march of 2020.

It has to do with the upcoming halving. Being on a 5n  pool fully ramped up  90 days before  the ½ ing is a very advantageous place to be.

I am try to talk my partners into migrating our 1 ph of hash from viabtc to  ckpool

ckpool's 0% fee seems really amazing (thank you CK!), but I'm worried about the lucky prizes + finder's fees integrated into the payout system...feels too much like gambling & makes it difficult to predict earnings. How much of a difference do they make at the end of the day?

Short ramp up & long ramp down also sounds like the stock market: if someone's winning, someone else is losing...

Can anyone do some sample calcs/graphs based on a single S9 (14TH/s) to explain?

Its main function is as a deterrent to block withholding and broken miners, and for the amusement. Regular miners within a few days it makes no difference to their overall payout.

That is the current network difficulty.  That number goes up or down according to network hashrate to maintain a block find rate on one every 10 minutes.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

I have done extensive threads on the diff.

Explaining why it can have a long downward trend  or a long upward trend or flat.

we are in the midst of an extended upward trend in the diff.

the easy way  to understand why is  price is high profits are good  so gear  chases that and diff goes up.

this started in the spring when price of coin went up.

the ½ ing in the past tends to move price of coin upwards. it is a complex balancing act.

Or as ck answered - no  which is pretty concise since 4-6 factors   will rule diff not just the ½ ing.

No

That number is affected when retarget occures!
Every two weeks that number changes accordingly to the hash rate!

The only payouts occur when the pool finds a block.  Payouts will happen when your no longer on the postponed list.

Hello everyone, so I've recently connected an old machine which has approx 120 MH/sec but the site doesn't suggest any activity. The only thing is that it says 2 workers active nothing else. Am I doing something wrong?

Yes. Read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2959630.msg30384065#msg30384065 point-3
Even on this pool which is targeted at very small miners, to be practical even for lottery mining these days the slowest BTC miner MUST be running at least several GHs. Running at 120MHs means that it will be several minutes or more for each share to be processed and that is a far cry from the approx 18 shares/min that most pools want to work with.

I am hoping someone who has experience with Avalon miners can help me out. I have a 1047 that I cannot get to hash. Here are some of the things I have tried in the pool field.

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333

I have tried different addresses, I have tried the other port (443) and I have tried the solo pool.

The worker field is my address and the password field is x.

I save and reboot after every change but the hash line never moves from the zero line. I do not not what I am doing wrong or missing.

Also, I did not see a way to setup a backup pool. Is that not an option with this miner?

Using pool.ckpool.org:3333 in the pool field did not work either. I also tried adding .a1041f ( from your picture) to the end of my address in the worker field but there was no change with that either. The worker field in the picture does not look long enough to be an address. Could that be my problem?
