Using pool.ckpool.org:3333 in the pool field did not work either. I also tried adding .a1041f ( from your picture) to the end of my address in the worker field but there was no change with that either. The worker field in the picture does not look long enough to be an address. Could that be my problem?

Okay let’s try again.

Line one is pool

Show me what you put in line one

Line two is your worker
btc address and nothing else show me what you put.

Line three is password

Use  an  x or use 123

Please show me what you did. I used the photo to be sure you enter on that page. Not to use anything you see in the photo

On the pool configure page I put  pool.ckpool.org:3333 into the pool field, my BTC address into the worker field and x into the password field. After reboot, on the overview page the pool field changes to stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 and the hash stays on the zero line.

How long are you waiting? AFAIK Every time you change a setting it reboots the miner and some miners can take up to 10 minutes or more to get mining after a reboot.

Probably not every change but most times I have waited several minutes or more before trying something else.

You might have to wait longer before seeing anything poolside, I have some miners that take 30 minutes before they start mining as they have to do all this optimisation crap on each board. Admittedly I don't have an Avalon but it may be they do that too.

Also I assume you are using YOUR actual BTC address and not the example address from the ckpool website which is: 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ

And lastly, no there is no place for a secondary or backup pool in the Avalon GUI which is a PITA if you ask me.

Also you have to reboot the miner after every change

From the manual:

Quote
Note: After pressing the save key, please remember to restart the machine to make sure your
mining pool configuration effective. To restart it, users can click Reboot on the left, or press
RESET key (on the miner) or restart the miner physically.

I can go and try different settings, allowing more time between changes. Is there an example that should/is best to use?
Yes, I am using my own address and not the one posted for example. I reboot after every change via the >system >>reboot option as described in the post for this miner.

Do you know how to check the log?

I clicked >log towards the bottom of the overview screen and it goes to a box with information. Nothing stood out but I wasn't sure what all I was looking at either. Is there something I should look for in this information? Retrying different pool information and waiting at least 30 minutes has not been yielding success.

Edit to try and make the log easier to read.

I tried a third pool yesterday just to be sure. I tried a different port on my router when I got home today. Did not have any success with either. Does the log reveal anything?

Wen block? Let's pump some hash in here.

I've tried to find an anwer to this in the thread but haven't had any luck.  The Block tab on the CKpool site shows that the last block solved was way back in February of this year.  Is that correct?   Huh

Yep.
That's what happens when a pool gets so small.

I am hoping someone who has experience with Avalon miners can help me out. I have a 1047 that I cannot get to hash. Here are some of the things I have tried in the pool field.

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 -u 1PKN98VN2z5gwSGZvGKS2bj8aADZBkyhkZ.0 -p x
stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333

I have tried different addresses, I have tried the other port (443) and I have tried the solo pool.

The worker field is my address and the password field is x.

I save and reboot after every change but the hash line never moves from the zero line. I do not not what I am doing wrong or missing.

Also, I did not see a way to setup a backup pool. Is that not an option with this miner?

Here is a link to the manual for your miner;
https://canaan-io-static.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Avalon1066_UserManual.pdf

According to the info you should only be putting in - stratum+tcp://pool.ckpool.org:3333 for your pool selection.
Username is your btc address (obviously) but drop the worker -  .0
It may be that you have a psu issue from what you've posted but make sure to check the manual for anything "dumb" you may have missed.

That is one of the pool selection inputs I tried. I also tried with and without the worker extension.
The linked manual is for the 1066 and different from the 1041 configuration I followed from HagssFIN. I tried changing the 66 to 47 but that was not a valid link.
I did not see anything in the manual about reading the log. What makes you suspect the power supply?

What kind of power supply would I need, to test if that is the problem? A search of Amazon brings up a 2400W Switching Server Power Supply for 90 dollars which sounds like it should work but I do not know about connections or if anything special is required.

What is an mm board and why is Canaan asking me to replace it? Also, is 19100902_fe411a8_ea5ac00 the latest firmware for the 1047 or is there something newer?

Hardware subforum has a Avalon 10 thread which would be better place for these questions.

MM board is the control board.

You are right. This has changed to a hardware problem. I will go there to find out if the request is normal and where to acquire said board. Thank you.

Hi all. It's time to freshen things up a little on the server, so I will be restarting the pool in an hour. Downtime should hopefully be negligible.
