In my opinion, there are two factors that are working against Ronaldo right now.
One of them is his age as the guy’s 37 right now and his body can only do so much for himself at this top level of football. As a matter of fact, the Premier League is an extremely physical football league right now, so playing there at the age of 37 and expecting the best out of him is a no-go.
Another factor could be the fact that he would like to play in the Champions League but is unable to do so. Ronaldo had a decent performance last season but not this season and I guess it's because he doesn't have much chance to be a starter or it could be his motivation and efforts have started to fade (when he has the desire to leave Man United, most likely his heart is not fully for Man United anymore). I'm guessing Ronaldo will definitely act in the next transfer window and Man United is also definitely reluctant to extend Ronaldo's contract. Looking at how Nagelsmann is not doing that amazingly at Bayern right now and having a possibility of sacking over his head, and Tuchel being unemployed right now, I wouldn't be shocked to see that switch happen. Tuchel would definitely thrive there and it would be funny scenes to hold as well, while Chelsea keep doing badly, and Bayern recovering and doing amazingly, Chelsea fans will be livid to see him doing that great.

I read an article online where the Bayern Munich management team came out to clearify this rumour and said that they are fine with the current coach and have no intention of patting ways with Nagelsmann. However, if that eventually be the case in near future,  Thomas Tuchel I know will do very well with the Bayern Munich team, he was there with Brussia Dutmornd before and did well and therefore this is not gonna be a new environment to him before he could starts catching up.

It’s quite normal for a Club Management to come out and back the coach when he’s underperforming. They can’t say otherwise because it’s the press. Deep down we know that the management isn’t on good terms with Nagelsmann. They know he’s not doing a good even though he managed to win the Champions league games against Inter Milan and Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel’s at the corner waiting for this job. I know Nagelsmann has few chances to prove himself before the board finally takes a decision.
