There are reports of Gundogan returning to Manchester city as he’s wanted by Pep Guardiola. Who would've thought Gundogan would be leaving Barcelona to return to Manchester City after how many seasons.
I don’t know how I feel about his return, but they have used him before and Pep knows exactly what he offers. Exactly same set of players he left in the dressing room last season. For pep, it's plug and play. He understands what the manager wants from him and he doesn't have to take time to fit in and blend in. I think it’s a win win for all parties. Gundogan back in City's midfield strengthens them big time.
IIkay Gündoğan is an important instrument when he was under Pep Guardiola management. He explored and turn out to become one of the very developing players that made crucial contributions to the team's performance and stats. Currently in Barcelona, he failed completely to build good chemistry with Barcelona, this is absolutely not a good choice for the German international. Rumours about Gündoğan keen on returning back to Manchester City, this is plain good news for the club but triggering this bid to come into action would be little challenging on the ends of the Citizens.
But even so I think it will only be a rumor for Manchester City because even though they want Gundogan to be in their squad but surely they will wait until next season so that this can be done and get Gundogan for free.
We certainly know that Gundogan left Manchester City on a free transfer so it would be ridiculous if Manchester City bought back a player they had let go for free because if that happened then from the start Manchster City would have increased the duration of Gundogan's contract.
But on the other hand if indeed Gundogan is still useful for them then it is clear they will only wait too because after all with the remaining contract that Gundogan currently has then they only have to wait for the end of the season to get Gundogan for free. Not to say Manchester City are stingy in this case but we can certainly judge where to force buying when Manchester City can get it for free.
