Nah, don't really think so. You don't go to a top club after having a goalless season in Qatar. I think he'd even be a bad transfer for clubs in the Croatian league in his current state if he would want a big contract. His ego is huge, he's disruptive to the atmosphere and he wasn't a top player even in his prime. I'd like him to return to Croatian league, but in a normal role - in which his overblown salary would not halt a club's overall progress.

Yeah, it looks like we are not going to see our yearly 100+ million transfer news for another year. I mean the biggest news I heard so far was Arthut and Pjanic trade which was really silly by Barcelona but I guess they needed the economical relief. Now that it's gone, I think that was the biggest number we would see and that's the end of it.
If the only thing that mattered in that trade to get 10 million more. Why didn't teams just say "arthur worths 210 million and pjanic worths 200 million" and just make it look like they each made ton of profit? Would that be too obvious? Is that really the reason? Because I feel like 60-70 million for Pjanic is already not reasonable, it already looks like just accounting thing and not really a transfer, so I don't know what would be the change.

The problem attached to most real madrid players is not the transfer fee, but the wages; Madrid offer players so many wages that they can prefer to run out their contract than accepting a pay cut. And that is why the Likes of Munich refused to permanent James deal; or Any epl club refusal to take up Bale even on loan. It remains to be seen what happens in the transfer market.

The time of big transfers seems to have passed.
Until the economy recovers or until the next boom is arrived,,, of course the time of big money transfers has gone away. Let me tell you even the clubs who have been spending big and not winning things will soon be facing troubles. Talking about Manchester United and Chelsea, or even PSG who never win Champions League. Clubs don't have to win the Champions League to be rich. For example, Lids will earn about the same, maybe more money just for promotion in the Premier League. Do you know that is Manchester United in the top there the richest club in the world? they make a profit regardless of the results. only Adidas pays them ~80million annually on sponsor contract. Chelsea and PSG owners take profits from other business, winning CL is more for reputation than for money. Of course, extra money is not bad for them. there will be small clubs in trouble, the rich can only be richer in the end.

Not just Madrid, most of the top clubs. There are many examples - like Coutinho in Barcelona, Sanchez in United, Bale in Real.. Top clubs spend huge money to win the contract battle for top players and when it doesn't work out, they don't have anyone to offload these players to. Bale said 'I will play golf in Madrid if you don't need me', knowing they cannot break his contract and still demanding his salary. Which is fair IMO - nobody forced Real into offering those terms in the first place.

I agree with you that Mandjukic is very special character but he was top player in Bayern, Juve and Croatian national team. Now, his time passed and I don't expect that he will play in some top club again but also don't believe he will play again in Croatian league. I heard that some clubs in Russia and probably Turkey are interesting in Mandjukic.

According to "insider" ManU has rejected an offer from Juventus of 80m for Pogba. Keep in mind this news will never be confirmed, so I guess is your choice to believe on it or not.
The extra year on Paul's contract seems to be an option only valid for English teams so basically, if a team from the UK wants Pogba, United can extend the contract of PP6 for 1 year cause they will risk to lose him for free.
HOWEVER, if a team outside the UK wants him at the end of his contract they can't extend the contract.

I think not. Extending contract by club means a contract with all features, salary, marketing rights... there is no redemption clause and anyone who's come with a certain amount of money, activate the clause, can negotiate with the player. Pogba has nowhere to go, he will stay in Manchester and he will sign a new contract. You will see. I think people from your Juventus also know that, and they will find another player on this position.

If I was Pogba I’d stay one more season at Man Utd & then leave on a free transfer next summer. Free agents (players not under a contract) usually get a big signing on fee from their new club & most likely a higher salary dye to no transfer fee being involved.

The truth is that Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United; the vibes and the cruise he demands are now available with Bruno; With United aiming to add Grealish, Sancho and Van de beek to the ranks at old trafford; then its a title challenging squad already. All that is left now is for United to agree a new contract extension for Pogba.

That was not what I meant. I talked about the examples of clubs who spend a fortune in the hopes that their dream squad will win the Champions League. This is City and PSG especially who both have their owners want nothing but to win it. So if their gamble did not pay off, then they have debt. If they win, they get a lot of prize money and big fanbase who buy their merchandise.

They know what they are doing , it's a real huge investment... you can't expect an instant result of course . Unless they are as lucky as roman abramovich at chelsea .. transform an ordinary club into top European clubs and it takes around 8 to 10 years until the club get the first ever champions league title. Manchester City and psg won't regret their decision to make a crazy big transfer involved huge amount of money every year , first their fund is like unlimited then second they are making way for long term business. Manchester City have spent over 1.5 billion pounds on 278 players in the last 10 years . While PSG have spent over 1.2 billion on 151 players. source : the sun uk I'm not actually business analyst tho, just share some thoughts.

These clubs and their owners do not have "unlimited" amount of money, in the end they are billionaires but they have a limit to it as well, and football is not like basketball where money is short, you spend hundreds of millions of dollars for each player. Look at PSG and how much it cost the team to build that and tell me thats sustainable, obviously its not and because of that I believe that these owners may spend a lot for their team for a while but eventually either you get success or they can't keep paying hundred million every single year, thats not really something they can afford even as a super rich person. Hence why these teams need success, these teams need fans, and these teams need to be world wide known and loved like Manchester United, otherwise they can't just keep going like this and will become a team not going for a title constantly at all and become good in their leagues and thats it.

The huge amount of money put into teams are not something owners are doing so that they could win something and just be happy about it, it is actually a great financial decision as well. Because, if you build a team that can sustain for a long time, a young team that can go for 5 years at least without a transfer and 10 years with only few transfers, you are actually spending money right now for future profits. Also why do you think Manchester United makes that much money?
Because they were amazingly great under SAF and he took that team to multiple premier league championship and constant champions league high levels so they were worldwide known for a loooong time.
Same goes for Real Madrid and Barcelona as well right now. So, when you put so much money into PSG, they will eventually win something and get more famous and will be a lot more known all around the world, which will cause them to make more money and won't need the owner to put in too much money or even zero.

We got some interesting news on two of the older players of Bayern München's current squad. Javi Martínez is about to leave Bayern this summer,
If news of Thiago Alcantara leaving Bayern (to Liverpool) turns out to be true and now Javi Martinez, I don't think it's too good for Bayern, losing two senior midfield players at the same time going into next season. I know they are both above 29, but they bring experience in the center of the field for the German champions. Any news on possible replacements?

Javi Martinez is about to turn 32 in two month. Unfortunately he isn't 29 anymore. There were rumors that FC Liverpool wants to trade Naby Keïta + a decent amount of cash for Thiago, but no idea if that is true. In my opinion FC Bayern might only need a (young) back-up for the central position (if Thiago leaves at all). Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka were delivering pretty strong performances during the last weeks. In addition to that FC Bayern also has Michaël Cuisance and they just signed Tanguy Nianzou from Paris-Saint-Germain, who can also play the central position.
