That's not controversial at all, Tottenham has won nothing with them on the roster while they are at a talent level where they would actually make sense to play in a bigger club that wins something. It says that Barcelona president Laporta wants to see him in the team even in January. I don't see this news as realistic at all truthfully. Because there is no reason for Messi to leave in the middle of the season above all else. He must be happy at PSG for now as we can understand this from his high effort in this season until now. They have a target like winning the Champions League as well. I don't think that it would be sensible for Messi to leave PSG to join a team that aren't competing in the Champions League. I think the same even if a player has great memories with the team being linked. These rumours would drop some time later as a result.

They actually brought some good players. Its not like they haven't invested well enough. With CL qualification they needed players and so they got players in attack like Perisic (Conte however puts up as left wing back tho), Richarlison, Bissouma, Lenglet, Spence(young player with potential). Well Spence might lack the experience but rest of those players are really good ones in my opinion. They have good players in mid as well like Hojberg and Bentancaur who does as a great job in ball retention and moving around ball nicely in attack. Son and Kane are bit ineffective this season so far but if they start performing then I believe that Spurs will grab up pace in the table.
