Time will tell, these last few months have been crazy and unpredictable, so $2000 isn't even out of the question completely. I've been HODLing for quite some time now and it seems I'll continue my journey further

On a side note, even the alts are beginning to go up again and I've also made money on that. Great year for Crypto so far, let's see how it goes the rest of the year.

I think it is definitely very possible.

People back in the days said that bitcoin will never go over $100 again. They were obviously so wrong. I think we are going to see bitcoin go up again in a major way soon - in fact this year is certainly the year of bitcoin. It has stayed above the $1,000 mark for the longest time in all of bitcoin's short history i think. We have achieved stability and stable growth over the past few months which is great.

If this trend contiues, $2000 in even 3 months isn't an issue.

It all depends a lot on the hard fork though, and that'll have a major impact on BTC.

Not less than 6months, however fast the price increase. I believe minimum it requires 6months to reach the particular price. If the current increase percentage continues too, we need lot time as the price gets sustained within a particular range for a short time period.

You have gone through so much trouble to post this topic just to say a small sentence? 6 months ago what was the price do you recall? I do it was around $780 and now it's not near the double however as the market's ice melts down we're going towards up and up we shall go, have you ever considered why bitcoin's price has only increased over time unlike anything else in the world? I'll give you a hint; it was designed this way and still the current dev team is loyal to the original design only if cash grabbers of crypto let it to grow, yet despite all the bad and negative news one after another we can see market is positive but I'm afraid every market has it's own tolerant limit and it's better if we don't push too much against that limit.

Yes. I've been saying for a couple of weeks now that we'll see $2,000 probably by the end of summer. There's just so many factors that can affect the price, it's hard to tell what it's going to do. But, if current trends hold, we'll see it within a few months for sure!

Would you buy as a newbie at 2000 or even as an holder? So we may see some people being very happy with that price however new investment may slow a bit cos it will be really high.

I think that it'll be a very interesting situation if the price shot up to more than $2000. Personally as a bitcoin holder i am very very happy if that ever happens because I've already stocked up with a nice amount of bitcoins in my cold storage.

However for the newbies that are just getting into bitcoin, it'll be tough for them because the price may be in a bubble if it shot up in a week from $1500 to $2000 and would crash in just a few days back down to $1000~. They have a huge risk to take on.

well so far price has gone up from $220 to $440 in 2015 and then from $440 to $1000 in 2016 and it can easily go from $1000 to $2000 in 2017 but it will take more than 6 months, till end of the year we may see $1800-1900 but that last $100 will be hard

It's hard to tell now what will be the price of bitcoin for the next 6 months. But I'm sure that in the end the price of bitcoin will still stay on the peak. And $2,000 in six months? Hmm.. it's possible but chances that it could not happen too. So, the best thing to do right now is just to keep on holding, I just read an article at cointelegraph that the price can even go up to $10,000.

if $2000 this month, i guess it is pretty hard to do so, although the raise has been keep going loud, the hype train is not yet departed (from $1300). AFAIK the price of bitcoin will not seek $2000 very soon, but not really late.

Everyone is eyeing on bitcoin etf as Winklevoss brothers' application is taken for reconsideration, it is highly speculated it might get approved this time. Regardless of what the result we are going to get from SEC, the media coverage bitcoin ecosystem is getting from these is the only thing I believe what we need to make use of.

In last 3 months there were around 20 etf applications were filed and we are holding firmly above $1100 price levels among some sudden falls. I believe it become possible as bitcoin is consistently attracting new investors from the media coverage aiding promotions.

This way not just $2000 levels, even $5000 too will be possible in next 6 months given that etf should get approved in between times.

We should all watch the Bitfinex drama right now. There current price is way above $100 as compare to other exchangers. Because traders can't withdraw USD, thus converting it to bitcoin and it looks like they are pumping it. As a result they are creating a temporary bubble that is waiting to be burst anytime. With that said, I think $2000 is not possible yet, because another dump will be coming. So the price will go down as usual, but I also believe that with the incoming dump, bitcoin can quickly recover from it and maybe who knows, by the end of the we are gong to touch $2000.
