$2000 anyone?

Well $2000 is really possible to reach with how the current price of bitcoin rising everyday. But the question is how can you touch $2000? What factors do you think that will push the price to this level? For me, the SEC review will be a huge impact to bitcoin price. If the SEC approved the Coin ETF then we will surely see the price to the moon. Another thing is the scaling debate that's been going on for the last couple of years. If Segwit will be activated to bitcoin network, then $2000 at the end of the year will be possible.

I agree with you. Now there are several events that can positively affect the price of bitcoin. I think that by the end of the year we will see the price of 1800-2000 dollars.

I think this year can be touch at $2000 value since every week we are seeing good news about bitcoin that i think that can increase value fast just like this few days we are seen the price increase fast from $1.2k and now we are in $1.4k value that i think it can increase more..
Just lets hope that this year there is no trading or exchange site will down or hack just like the other trading site before,,. if it will not happen the price will continue to increase until $2k value

You can speculate as much as you want but in order to speculate you need to have some realistic chances,if the SEC approves ETF next month then we would see a good rally and with the price at an all time high ,i think a good couple of trading days could take the price closer to $2000 and if the ETF is approved then the growth of price will be immense.

I believe SEC approval of ETF will boost the price of BTC since new funds will come in, and then the other one that was rejected would also be reviewed and more likely with the same outcome.   Aside from that I read there is really a development of Bitcoin coming in this June.  This might boost bitcoin and even capture some of ETH markets.  And if ever this bull run continue, we can see $2000 in much earlier time.

It should be increase because its a services or increase quality use of bitcoin that i think the price should be increase more...
But for $2,000 its impossible that the price can be hit this year.. except next year.

Pretty sure the Bitcoin ETF was already rejected. Are you talking about the ETH ETF? I guess that would bring more fiat into cryptocoins in general but not sure how much it would really affect Bitcoin.

$2000 in 6 months? We might experience another dump before we could experience another pump going $2000 especially now with Bitfinex's unresolved problems with their bank.

This remains to be seen. Bitfinex issue is still unresolved. Let's say we enjoy the price pump or bubble as we are currently seeing. Let's hope the price touches $2000 before the bubble burst. Then will see another pump that will put the price to even new levels like $2500 or more.

You can hope Bitcoin touches $2000 but you know it cannot happen. Not now with the threat of Bitfinex closing down and doing a Gox. But look at it as an opportunity to accumulate more coins.

Well, with the positive news about Bitcoin being acknowledged as currency, and new updates and upgrades on bitcoin usage and application, there is no doubt that the possibility of Bitcoin to reach 2k USD is clear. 

Good news and upgrades alone do not move the price of Bitcoin. Pumping and price manipulation in the history of Bitcoin have shown that it can move the price more. The same is true if it is going the opposite direction.

Remember 6 months is a long time and within that time, there are lots of things that may probably happen to Bitcoin.  If ever all things are positive, 2k USD Bitcoin a piece is achievable for sure.

It could reach it. But I would be more confident if the problems at Bitfinex were resolved.

$2000 is so close and it hits already 1500 on preev.com which is rapidly increased from $1200 and in just a couple of weeks and its a good news and a  start for this month May, we reached this time so far, so we can expect that before the year ends $2000 isn't possible to happen.

I do not believe in such a rapid growth of bitcoin, it has already grown quite well and the price will go down a bit.

Calm down! Yes, the price goes up in a rapid pace, but at some point the train will run out of steam, and the price will come down to more appropriate levels as result. It's pure panic buying that is happening right now. People will jump on board regardless of the price, just to own themselves a few coins and benefit from a potential further increase. In that regard, the price may very well go up higher from this point, but surely not enough to touch the $2000 level this month. I don't even think it will happen next month.

Though way is clear to $5500 for one Bitcoin as many on going discussions and predictions can be found on different social medias. Yeah it is kinda surprising, I used to think $2000 this year is impossible but after this few days, I am certain that $2000 this year is very possible.  There are lots of good news that is coming for Bitcoin now adays, countries accepting it as full pledged money and another on planning and another another one acknowledging it.  With the current news in Japan and Big companies planning to join the Bitcoin market, I am sure $2000 is just some months away.

I think the current surge is a testament to how well bitcoin has performed over the last few months, even dating back to when the price idled at $600 for a while. Now that a lot of positive news is coming the way of bitcoin, the worries caused by the hard fork seems to be overshadowed, although definitely not to be ignored. At some point, the price is going to rest and even correct, but the long term trend is still up and up and up.

From this point in time, i would say that your prediction is not just possible, but very probable.

Why? If you look at the charts on coinmarketcap.com you will see that the price has consistently increased over the past few months. Not just one big price hike and then a dump like 2013. There is a major difference between this year's pump which is way more sustainable, compared to the 2013 pump which happened basically overnight and the dump happened overnight as well.

But still, it is important that you don't take on a lot of risk. Maybe keep a portion of your savings in USD and the other portion in BTC.
