When I start mine, it always starts with really low efficiency, I'd wait 30 minutes a few hours. it went up to about 97% for me

Ive been mining at bitparking and my backup is guild.

Tried a different location for the stratum proxy on the physical network, now I'm pulling 12.2 gh/s with 97%.

Here's how it was before: -> Miner - Router - Switch - Server with proxies
Now with a 7% increase: -> Miner - Router - Proxy Server

Thanks for taking the time to look at the problem. I'm sure something else will pop up though, it always does Cheesy

What switch do you have?

If it's a basic, cheap one then it's very likely that it cannot keep up with multiple ports used at the same time.

As with other tech stuff, the lower end devices are usually not suitable for 24/7 use or high load.

DLink DGS 2208. I've already ordered a replacement, HP Procurve 1810-8G v2.

The D-Link works fine for saturating the gigabit link to my NAS, but it seems it can't keep up with the stratum protocol.

I have a procurve 1400 and it works fine. Smiley

friedcat, could I possibly pick you brains for a moment please?

I'm trying to automate reconfiguring these blades by POSTing up a webform generated programmatically, but I must be mucking something up, because the changes aren't taking effect. I've noticed that on a successful submit from my browser, I get code "631" in the return string, and when trying to do it programatically I get "148" - what do these mean and any quick tips about what I might be doing wrong here..

Example request I send up:
Code:
POST /Upload_Data HTTP/1.1
Accept: */*
User-Agent: Ruby
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Host: 192.168.0.125:8000
Content-Length: 65

MPRT=8343%2C8342&USPA=rfcpool.asic4%3A1234%2CCaesium_asic4%3A1234

In this example I only sent user/pass and ports since that's all I wanted to change, but the same happens if I set any/all combinations of fields as far as I can tell..

Thanks Smiley

Think I found it. It requires the entire HTTP POST in one packet, I noticed it was sending the "rebooting" response right after the first packet. It also seemed to require having the "update=Update/Restart" field in otherwise it only updated some settings but not others, but it seems to be working now.

Batch 3 went up at 2.30am for me so couldn't get any Sad I think it should have been another auction, not 'whoever'stimezonefitsgetsthem'.

Probably would have been if the forum could cope with it. This one was such a mess towards the end I suspect they didn't want a repeat showing?

They could have used an offsite version, or even closed offers.

But at the least, advertise it in advance Sad

Yeah, that's true. Friedcat figured that this would work better, although I'm more partial towards a Dutch-style auction.  Wink

Figured I should post some pics of my setup too.  The rack cost me about $10 to make (CPVC), everything from RONA.

snip

best rack in this tread
but in my experience having blowers blowing  air directly on heat-sink is must. Especially if room is hot and blade run on HIGH clock.

Thanks! Smiley

What's your efficiency guys?
My 2 units are getting exactly 178 and 179 diff shares per minute, after many hours of uptime. I am cooling them with 2x2 Arctic Cooling F12 120mm fans. No problems with overheating or power at all, absolutely stable since fitted:)

this is the output of a little script I wrote to get all the interesting data into one place..

1: 12949 MH/s  240824/ 243858 176.95/min 98.75% 4s up 022h 40:58
2: 12986 MH/s  241489/ 243866 177.45/min 99.02% 4s up 022h 40:53
3: 12886 MH/s  218411/ 222339 176.08/min 98.23% 4s up 020h 40:24
4: 12790 MH/s   14848/  15200 174.79/min 97.69% 4s up 001h 24:56

That's fairly atypical for me, maybe a little lower than normal, I've seen anything up to 178 shares/minute.

Hitting 13000 exactly, 178 exactly. You might want to try moving your stratum proxy about, or testing 2 different proxies on 2 computers etc. Does look like your 4 is maxing out current arrangement.

You got me wondering, so I tried moving the proxy of 4:

4: 12553 MH/s    3794/   3936 171.80/min 96.39% 3s up 000h 22:05

seems even worse after 22 minutes. It was on a Linux HP Microserver previously, thats on a Windows box with a bit more power - maybe Windows just sucks at this sort of thing.
