1) Will Mysterium be usable in China considering all VPN will be banned next year?
When it comes to usage of Mysterium service (VPN at first), our recommendation is to follow the local law. Technically, the service will be available around the globe.

Found this here: https://medium.com/mysterium-network/you-asked-we-answered-pt-2-ee55344c2d3c

I read this as a big no.

i read it as, yes....what are you smoking, get out of here.

would also like to point out...if this net neutrality decimation passes...Mysterium is THE workaround...all users would have access to international ISPs through this...hope network speed is fast!

it depends how this VPN ban is implemented...right now, the firewall is simply a blacklist of IP addresses

heres how things are now.

The Chinese gov would have to blacklist the IP of every out-of-country Mysterium node, to effectively ban the service, and IPs change constantly, depending on what nodes are where...depends how many users we get. i guess we'll see.

I would really see this succeed because it is awesome, but some simple answers as yes or no to simple questions would be nice and not beat around the bush. I use a VPN myself but a decentralised one and earning some myst if you are running a node yourself is great.

It is still under construction. If they had a working product the price would shoot up.

Oh wow, this is a cool idea! Not necessarily a privacy coin like Monero but very similar. Will keep researching Mysterium Smiley

Edit: Is there a working product yet?

MYST this shit coins up a few days, a day for you to fall the light, the cat big flicker, cause infinite harm to people! The project was completely disappointed and the investment was shrinking. It was regretted not to change it to EOS in the last few months. Sad Sad Sad

Even there are some disappointments I'm still holding my ICO tokens. Somehow I still have hope for good product.

Yes, if the firewall will use only IP blocking, the Mysterium Network should be a solution. It will be impossible for the Chinese governement to block thousands of ever-changing IP addresses. They might however use deep packet inspection (see Wikipedia article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_packet_inspection ) it can be more complicated even for a decentralized VPN to avoid being blocked. Let's see how the Mysterium devs will address this. In any case, decentralized VPN will always be way better, safer and probably also cheaper than centralized one.
