First of all, let me start this thread by saying i have NO conclusive proof to say user bussybuddy is a scammer. All proof is circumstantial, and could be interpreted in a way that places bussybuddy in a bad light, as well as it could be interpreted in a way that makes user bussybuddy look like he's just trying to jumpstart his business.

The reason for making this thread is that i received a PM from a second user that pointed out bussybuddy's recent activities. As many of you might know, bussybuddy and i didn't get off on a good start. I asked him, what i believe, legitimate questions, and gave him (what i believe) honest feedback to improve his service... He replied by calling me mentally ill, a pervert, a copy/paster, a sockpuppet,... You get the point.
I took him off my watchlist and put him on ignore, but the PM i got from a second user put him straight back on my watchlist, since his recent endaveour might end up in innocent people losing funds... So it was time to write up all my suspicions about this user and create a thread in the reputation subforum to give him the opportunity to explain what's happening (since i have no conclusive proof i will not open a scam accusation)

First observation:
Bussybuddy is running a lottery... Apparently it's the second drawing already.
The first lottery used deposit address 1P24zuaR9niAjWtMsGisfmUNqyR6mk1fVD.
At first glance, looking at https://blockchain.info/address/1P24zuaR9niAjWtMsGisfmUNqyR6mk1fVD it looks like he sold 18 tickets, drew a winner and sent him 0.013201. When digging deeper, the user PM'ing me found out that all inputs come from the same wallet. As a matter of fact, there was one original input, and each time the input is used in a transaction buying a ticket, the change is used to buy the next ticket...

The second lottery follows the exact same sequence, using the winnings from the first lottery!! He only changed his deposit address to 1HC4pyrN6Hnizpz5zFST3RUDgje6tMeCDU

First conclusion:
Although there is no way to prove that he's buying his own tickets, it's hard to believe a third party is buying up all tickets in both drawings. As a matter of fact, because the transaction size becomes so large, a huge fee is needed, so if a third party was buying all tickets, he would lose a lot of his money in fees (0.004799 BTC from first draw)

Second observation:
Bussybuddy's lottery isn't provably fair, nor is it using an escrow

Second conclusion:
If the draw ever sells any tickets to real users, bussybuddy can buy 1 single ticket and then he can easily manipulate the draw to pick himself, thus stealing from ticket buyers.

third observation:
Although bussybuddy has accused me of being an alt of other users that replied on his thread, i completely deny this accusation... However, i strongly suspect bussybuddy has an alt he uses as his own sock puppet to shill for him:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=987978
Why?
  • Pixellord is a term he's trying to "brand". If you look at his site, you see a big banner saying "become pixellord for only 0.01 BTC/month"
  • User Pixellord was created after bussybuddy had altrications with other people on this forum, and he needed a "helping hand"
  • User Pixellord was created for the sole purpose of shilling for bussybuddy. All posts made by pixellord are solely aimed at making bussybuddy looking good
  • User Pixellord has made his 5 posts during the timeframe user bussybuddy is most active
  • User Pixellord actually has promo for bussybuddy in his signature
  • User Pixellord uses the same crappy english
  • User Pixellord gave +ve to bussybuddy
  • User Pixellord uses telegram, something bussybuddy seems to do to

Third conclusion:
Although not 100% proved, i think it's very probable user bussybuddy uses a sockpuppet to shill for him. He also uses this sockpuppet to get "free bumps" on his threads, he later on replies to his sock puppet, again bumping his own thread, circumventing the 1 bump per 24 hours policy

Fourth observation:
User bussybuddy started spamming his business all over other threads, completely hijacking them without actually contributing. Although, at first glance it looks like he's giving advice/loans/..., he actually never forks over any BTC to fill any request, and the end result is just him posting his link on hijacked threads
examples:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1766596.msg18784778#msg18784778
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1164418.msg18561132#msg18561132
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1853580.msg18557053#msg18557053
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1739698.msg18555848#msg18555848
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1065017.msg18555802#msg18555802
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173703.msg18555651#msg18555651
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1133534.msg18555642#msg18555642
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1571743.msg18555533#msg18555533

Fourth conclusion:
Most of the posts he makes out of his own threads seem to be pointed to drive people towards his threads, to his site or get them to mail him

Fifth observation:
User bussybuddy claims to get 1000 uniques/day to his site (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1766596.msg18784778#msg18784778), the only half-proof ever posted was a print screen without legend on this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1878258.msg18668562#msg18668562 . The country with the biggest amount of hits is the UK... The country of his residence. The second most is the US, home of the google bot... There is no legend to see if this were stats for 1 day, 1 month, 2017, forever,...
I'd like to see some real statistics that prove that those couple thousand hits are real traffic, coming from real people, and add up to 1000 uniques/day

Fifth conclusion:
If he cannot prove his statistics, IMHO, he's using false advertising, since he's selling his adspots for 3 BTC/100pixels at the moment, but if his site doesn't have any traffic, it's actually falsely advertised, since the net worth of the adspot is determined by the number of visitors

Sixth observation:
At the beginning of his website, bussybuddy put an ad to a clear ponzi on his site. To bad it has since been removed. He insisted the ponzi was placed there by one of his customers, so it wasn't his fault. I estimated the price this user should have payed for this adspot, and asked bussybuddy to prove that this adspot was sold, and not owned by him by showing me a txid of the buyer. He refused to do so.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1808632.msg18022745#msg18022745 is where he says the ponzi add is not owned by him... There is no proof of him not wanting to post a txid, since he just ignored my questions about this subject.

Sixth conclusion:
Since he failed to prove that the adspot was purchased by a third party, i think it's fair to conclude the odds are very great that he put an add to his own ponzi on his own site. Once he realised people were not buying his explanation, he removed the add.

Seventh observation:
Bussybuddy is claiming other user's are breaking forum rules related to copy/pasting and using sockpuppets:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1808632.msg18286687#msg18286687
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1808632.msg18033928#msg18033928

Seventh conclusion:
the only thing i did was making the mistake to think that he asked 0.01BTC for 100 pixels, while instead, his price at that time was 1BTC for 100 pixels. I also miscounted the number of pixels used to publish the ponzi ad, so my final calculation was way off. He then proceeded to make fun of me, and corrected my mistake. Of course, i used his corrections to make further calculations instead of using my own (incorrect) values.
Because i used his correct values for further calculations instead of using my incorrect values, he started called me a copy/paster (which is a serious accusation on this forum)
As for the second part of his accusation: i strongly deny to be an alt of Adaseb, although i strongly respect this user.

Eighth observation:
all bussybuddy's more controversial threads seem to be locked most of the time... Does that sound fishy to anybody

Eighth conclusion:
it does to me Smiley

Ninth observation:
the only proof bussybuddy seems to give is that he doxxed himself, and that his rating on scamadviser is higher than the rating of my free site. The fact that i do not want to give up my anonimity, use an avatar and have a lower rating on scamadviser was sufficient for him to discard any question i asked as utter nonsense. He waved away any questions i asked by saying i was a competitor, while the only thing my site does is giving free tools to people, while his site is aimed at making millions of dollars by selling adspots.

Ninth conclusion:
Afaik, scamadviser isn't a community standard. Before bussybuddy brought it up, i never heard of the site... Googling some reviews usually turn up site like this one:https://safeweb.norton.com/reviews?url=scamadviser.com
So, all in all, having a good/bad rating on such a site means nothing to me.
As for doxxing himself.. I haven't seen anybody trying to verify his identity, as well as the fact that having a known identity will not prevent him from scamming (Mtgox was brought up by adaseb, although bussybuddy failed to recognize Mark Karpelès)

Tenth observation:
Recently, bussybuddy started to forward traffic from his TLD directly to his million pixel webpage. However, in the past, he was actively recruiting people to become a "bussybuddy expert", promising up to 1 BTC for all applicants.
AFAIK, he didn't have a solid privacy policy while he was asking a lot of private information... No proof, but it sounds rather fishy to me.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1628645.msg16388049#msg16388049

Tenth conclusion:
I have no proof he was gathering private information for personal gain, but the fact he offered an outrageous signup bonus coupled with the fact he was asking personal info seems sketchy to me

And now,
List of questions i'd publicly like to ask bussybuddy...  If he can give satisfactory answers, i promise to leave him alone, and publicly apologise!!!
  • 1)Can you give a reasonable explanation why the tickets sold in your lottery are all bought by the same person?
  • 2)Will you take steps to make your lottery provably fair?
  • 3)Will you start using a reputable escrow?
  • 4)Is user Pixellord your alt? In case you deny, can we ask Theymos or an other global admin to look at the ip evidence?
  • 5)Were you really thinking about giving user serje a 20 BTC loan? If yes, can you prove that at one point over the last couple of weeks you helt an address with a balance of at least 20 BTC by signing a message with the address? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1766596.msg18784778#msg18784778
  • 6)You have posted a link to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1864906.msg18543012#msg18543012 on several pages, did somebody actually take you up on your offer?
  • 7)Can you give clearer statistics to support your claim of 1000 uniques/day?
  • 8)Can you show us the txid of the payment for the ponzi ad you initially had on your site?
  • 9)Can you, for the sake of clarity, once again explain why i'm a copy paster?
  • 10)Can you give any shred of evidence to prove i'm an alt of adaseb?
  • 11)Can you explain why you recently started locking your threads? It seemed like most users that were worried about your activities gave up on calling you out... so as far as i can see, there shouldn't have been a reason to start locking your threads.
  • 12)Since you seem to be pretty proud you registered your domain under your real name, did you have real life contact with any reputable member of this forum that can vouch for your identity?
  • 13)How do you repond to the fact that scamadviser itself has very negative reviews on many trusted sites, since this seems to be your main proof of honesty?
  • 14)Can you prove you actually payed the 1 BTC bounty to any of your experts?
  • 15)Can you tell us what you did with any of the private information you got from the form where you asked experts to sign up?

This is the PM i sent bussybuddy, messageid 5966907:

Code:

Hi bussybuddy,

I know we're not the best of friends (to say the least), but i tried to ignore your business threads for a while now. However, a certain user PM'ed me about his suspicions about your lottery ticket sales, so i decided to once again dig into your threads.

I have made a new thread in the reputation subsection to give you a public forum to reply to the things that worry me. Please don't see this as a personal attack, but rather as an opportunity for you to set the record straight. The 15 concerns are listed at the bottom of the OP. If you decide to answer, i'll add your answers to the correct question in the second post of the thread.

It's up to you wether or not you'd like to reply to my concerns, however, please note that i will no longer answer to any PM's i get from you, or from users i suspect to be your sockpuppets. If you send me a PM, i shall either ignore it, or i will post it publicly on my new thread and give a public answer (it's up to my own discretion to chose an option), please note that i will not redact any of your new PM's when i publicly post them.

Kind regards,
Mocacinno

My weekend starts in 2 hours, i will only check back on this thread on monday!!! This gives user bussybuddy ample time to think about wether or not he wants to answer any of my questions, or if he choses to ignore me

Edit on monday 8/05/2017

Over the weekend, i got following 3 PM's from bussybuddy. As said in the PM sent on friday, i will no longer answer to these PM's in private, but rather publish them and answer them on the public forum.

pm id: 5973490
Hi,

I was closing the Lottery for you and for your 15 friends what are afraid to play but they are not playing they are trying to hunt people and to name them scammers.

There is nothing suspicious with my Lottery I was funding it just to increase the interest if did not work is not your fault your friends fault or my fault, and if you are looking to name me scammer do it but do not forget to bring proofs.

You are mentally affected and this is the reason for what you are following me.

I do not care, do constructive things not follow others to put yourself in troubles.

pm id: 5973497
Better is to publish the chat between us if you have nothing to hide, I am not scammer so from my side you have the right to publish all the private chats between us

pm id: 5974066

Mr Mocacinno for you I am telling you to stop with any actions against me ... I am not scammer and pls understand I do not need advertising from your side even if is for free. You left pissed off and now you are in revenge and you are generating stories around me and about me. You are depressed is clear find a way to recover yourself do not worry about others! Worry about you and your family and when you will finish with them start to worry about others.

Do not invent any stories just because you are pissed off and try to make me to pay you back, calm down you are proving now you are mad...

Keep calm and be happy not pissed off

My responses:
  • I did not ask you to close your lottery... I asked you to either confirm or deny that you were buying your own tickets, and i asked you to make your lottery provably fair. If the lottery was provably fair, i couldn't care less if you were buying your own tickets. But buying your own tickets + not provably fair = suspicious
  • Thank you for admitting you bought your own tickets, i'll add this answer to question number 1 (14 unanswered questions left)
  • Where do you get these 15 friends?
  • I have never called you a scammer directly (as far as i can remember). I just said i have a bad gut feeling about allmost every project you start. There is a big difference between not trusting somebody and claiming they're scammers
  • Please provide proof about the fact that i'm mentally affected... Sure, i have a bad feeling about any project you have promoted on this forum so far, and i have called you out about this, i don't see why it should make me mentally affected
  • Thank you for allowing me to post historic PM's between us. At this point, i think posting these old PM's would just distract everybody from the 15 questions i asked you tough
  • I do not think i created a single story about you... I'm asking you (what i believe to be) legitimate questions. If you have nothing to hide, why don't you just answer them?

i have NO conclusive proof to say user bussybuddy is a scammer.
If it walks like a duck... looks like a duck... and swims like a duck...  Roll Eyes  Lips sealed

But seriously... I'm still trying to figure out how 100 pixels on a site that seems like it was designed for Netscape Navigator 1.0 (needs more <BLINK> btw) is somehow worth 1.0 BTC... or indeed, why anyone would visit a site composed entirely of ads? Huh

There is precisely ZERO content... and yet, somehow a tiny 10x10 pixel square is worth 1.0 BTC?? Maybe bussybuddy should sell whatever he is smoking on "teh DarkNetz"™... would probably make more money. Tongue

You are mistaking, since he claims (without ever presenting any proof) that he sold over 22% of his pixels: According to his own pricing scheme, a 100x100 pixel add should now cost 3 BTC (it'll be 4 BTC once he claims he sold 31% of his pixels).  Grin
I know i would never, ever, pay 0.00001BTC for a 100x100 spot on a million pixel webpage... So your concerns are legit Smiley

As for the design: I once said his design looked like it came straight out of the 90's, to which he just replied my site looked awefull... After some digging, here is the script he uses:
http://tufat.com/gpix-pixel-ad-script/
If you download it, the date it was last modified is..... 2007!!! Since this is the date the zipfile packaging the last version of the script he uses was generated, the initial version must be *really* old...

Seeing as how Alexa doesn't even have enough traffic data http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/bussybuddy.com and that it costs over half a bitcoin to get even a decently-sized picture, it can be concluded that bussybuddy is a liar. Just that is enough to warrant a red trust.

Also the highest number of clicks is only 105.
