When setting up UNOMP for a flappycoin.
1. do I use litecoin as the example? (I do not know which alt coin was the base for the source)
2. what are the settings for the coin "peerMagic": "fbc0b6db",  "peerMagicTestnet": "fcc1b7dc"

for those that are going through this themselves, just use litecoin as example, but remove the peermagic and peermagictestnet lines

I know putting FLAPPS into an exchange is very important. I thank whoever is working on it.

BUT,

is not it better to see the future of the currency first? POW like so far? POS? what return?

If we put the coin on the market now, everyone will dump ...

What are the reasons to keep it? what use?

If the POS is at least foreseen, and good, then small investors can buy it and put it off the market in their wallets. This will certainly increase demand rather than supply ....

What I'm going to suggest now may be pure madness: Why not put the POS with a variable rate?

Deria crazy if I could have a week a return of 0.5% and the week after, 10%, by sheer luck Smiley

Or in increments for those who keep more time ...:

1 week in the wallet = 0.5%
2 consecutive weeks in the wallet = 1%
3 consecutive weeks in the wallet = 1.5%

They are only ideas and examples of values, I did not do the mathematics of inflations, etc ...

I really like the staking idea.  I also like you gaming/gambling idea from IRC.  The coin needs to be able to do something!

The lack of clarification is my fault , The new coin has been a challenge but indeed our fresh genesis block was hashed last night
with a LOT of help from a coder far greater then I. Ive been waiting to make sure this was possible and id be able to hash a fresh merkle root
and gen block before saying to much in case it wasn't working out . I still wont be discussing it on the forum for a few days while we are debugging
Im pretty confident our lil community here is about to get ten times bigger following any kind of algo announcement. its important for all the content to be in place before that happens. its also important everyone here helping out is in a good position before hand ....im setting up a discord room after much Resistance i can see its value

I have some flappycoins from a faucet I use to play some years ago. Are they still good to pull them to this new wallet?

unfortunately you cannot check the address, as we have a only a blockcrawler, best and fastest way would be to download the new flappycoin  binary (or compile it yourself)  , do a backup of the existing wallet, and use your own wallet.dat file before syncing ( starting) flappycoin again.

your wallet - it will show up empty locally first, but as the blocks will be downloaded your coins will show up.
(your tx´s should show up as not confirmed with a complete new install, and will validate when the blockchain has reached the height needed)

first and important step is to backup the wallet.dat file. It is the first thing you do (copy to a usb stick or somewhere else safe).

if you havent started flappycoin for a long time (last year, january or similar)
- you might try to only start the new flappy binary, add nodes and it might will be just ok and will not take forever to sync.

!!anyway make sure you copy the old wallet.dat file before anything you do!!

edit:
you might altready find your old incoming tx `s also on blockcrawler (paste tx id to the coresponding searchfield there).
