For European Union.I asked several assembly companies. Finally I got one cheap and realible offer for manual assembly: ~ 110 USD, 10 days. This is for very small amount of boards, asked them to assembly 2 PCBs. When we order 100+ the price can go lower. The companies I asked can only assembly the boards manually, because of the really small packaging of the components (0402 capacitors and thermistors). 1x K16 miner price would be: 16x Avalon chips: ~ 151 USD (based on 16 x 0.086 BTC x 110 USD) 1x K16 board: ~ 9 USD (based on current https://github.com/bkkcoins/klondike/blob/master/docs/K16%20Parts%20List.pdf) K16 parts: ~ 33.74 USD Manual assembly: 110 USD Summary: ~ 303.74 USD4.5 GH / sec hashing power for this price. Please note: this is for ONE board assembly with 16x chips without delivery costs for EU.

"I am in the process of speaking with US based manufacturers to build and assemble miners based off open source designs. Pricing will be available closer to the ship date, and will depend on the amount of chips/boards built. I will keep this thread updated with developments as they occur. This is by no means finalized. While likely a solution will be developed prior to chip delivery, and I am making every effort to do so, I do not guarantee anything."
Any updates to this FAQ? Seems like there are lots of groups preparing assembly plans but all based on only a few designs.

Quick update:
Things are progressing on this end. Multiple pricing requests for US assembly of BkkCoins' design have been sent, quotes coming in daily. The Avalon design is being validated for cloning as information is posted from them. The thread will be updated, and more complete information will be posted later tonight.

Did you narrow which Klondike design you'll be going with? I know you mentioned that wouldn't be doing the USB miner.

Where in FL will these be shipped FROM? Can I just come pick it up when it arrives instead of paying the extra shipping?

So I'm interested in buying some chips, but I have some pretty easy questions that need answered if you guys could help! So I buy these chips for 0.086 BTC each. I should buy them in 16's if I'd like to get a full board full. Than the buy the K16 board, K16 parts. The Manual assembly, why is there a price? It's me putting it together. right?

You're right, 1x chip for KNano, 16x chips for K16, 64x for K64. If you have the knowledge, tools and nerve to assembly yourself, you can do it. But remember, ONE false soldering and you can wreck your board completely. I'm not risking my chips and boards to assembly myself, however I could do it.

In the event Batch three is not ordered, a refund will be issued. Batch one and two chips are accounted for. If this changes, there may be a possibility of purchasing chips from batch one or two. There currently is no time limit, though this may change.
Let's try to keep this batch open even though things are slow. I think/hope once the chips and boards come in there will be a surge of interest from people who're holding back right now. I have 32 in batch one, in for another 34 from batch three, will send the coins tonight.

I have 32 in batch one, in for another 34 from batch three, will send the coins tonight. 785 BTC is needed. So far 39 BTC received since 5/12/2013 (4 days) = ~ 10 BTC per day. 785/10 = 79 days roughly, not sure if I want to wait 2 1/2 months for the order to be placed + another 3 months for chips to be delivered by Avalon. That puts us at Oct-Nov timeframe. But there's really not a lot of other options. Granted, I'm already in for 32 on batch #3. Gotta get this group buy to speed up

I'm worried that we've depleted the market of ASIC chip early adopters. There may be more interest if one of the board builders can demonstrate a working prototype once the demo chips are shipped. That might kick some people off the fence. Hopefully this batch can hang on till then.
