I honestly haven't seen the previous layout since I'm new to Chipmixer, but damn the simplicity of the current layout sure is sexy!

I can't speak for the usability though, since I haven't used it. But it definitely looks very promising.

Very interesting idea. I can do better privacy for every transaction I do. It's so interesting, I'll give it a try and I'll give it a review. In this way nobody else will know the bitcoin I have. Oh yes, his fee is also quite cheap. You will get a large number of users, a good future.
Yes, Chipmixer is indeed a very good site that allows users to mix their bitcoins for better privacy, and the site don't really charge their users any fees, users are free to donate any amount to the site if they like the service provided by the site. I believe there will be more users using ChipMixer in the future  Smiley

No fees is just one of the edges of ChipMixer. The other is their User Interface which the details of your chips are cleanly and neatly seen which you can easily view. Also the developers are updating it regularly so we can expect a much better services in mixing your bitcoins in the future.

This is very nice and useful service.
I like implementation of provably fair double or nothing gambling game so we can try our luck to double bitcoins while we are mixing them.

At the moment, very few places to invest safely, both bitcoin and altcoin investments. But, do not worry because now ChipMixer is present (a safe place to invest your wealth)
That's hilarious.  You haven't even took the time out to find out what it is that you're advertising.  Even worse, you're so used to advertising scams that you've assumed it's an investment service!
I honestly haven't seen the previous layout since I'm new to Chipmixer, but damn the simplicity of the current layout sure is sexy!

I can't speak for the usability though, since I haven't used it. But it definitely looks very promising.
The old layout was much like a common Tor site, e.g. Alpha Bay.  I don't know why but a lot of the Tor sites I've been on have that kind of layout.  The new layout removes this association which is better for those who are just in it for the privacy rather than for criminal activities.
Using this option you can replace weird 1.024 BTC chip with new, shiny, round 1 BTC. What happens with 0.024 BTC? It gets donated. That's 2% fee. Same % apply for 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 mBTC chips.
Good.  Unusual sizes like 256 mBTC look likely that they've come from you, especially if Chipmixer becomes a prominent mixer.

I just checked out the website, and it's pretty simple and minimalistic. Great improvement compared to the previous version that I've seen. Also, I mixed coins for the second time ever today. The first was with BM, and now with ChipMixer. I thought it would be confusing, but it turned out to be quite easy to understand the "chips" once I started the process.

Mixing noobs, rejoice; the userflow of ChipMixer is quite easy to follow.

EDIT: Oh, and by default, no fees? I think this may very well be the best part about ChipMixer! Smiley

Yeah, the beauty of Chipmixer is that there are easy to understand instructions that anyone can follow. Even if you do not know a thing about bitcoin, i think that you can still figure out how to improve your privacy and anonymity when transacting online with Chipmixer fairly quickly.

And like you i especially enjoy the fact that they are able to provide their service with no extra charge, meaning that they are really dedicated to really improving user experience with bitcoin instead of just making a quick buck out of it.

Still though, you can definnitely donate to them and i think with the new "commonize" feature it makes it a lot easier to donate.

We have received reply from Electrum author. Plugin won't be included in wallet by default. Author believes it would create a law risk to add mixer into wallet. Our hook was merged so our plugin will work with new version, but it will need to be installed separately.

We have published an article at r/Bitcoin about how to use ChipMixer to avoid upcoming "declare cryptocurrencies" US law: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6jzc41/easy_way_to_avoid_upcoming_us_declare_btc_law/

That's good enought. So I guess you will release a link to download and install the plugin?
I legit want to test the mixing function from Electrum. Any small advantage you can offer over other mixers is already something great and another reason to use ChipMixer.

Well, Electrum's reasoning isn't that surprising tbh. They obviously want to be free of any affiliations to bitcoin mixers/tumblers even though they offer more anonymity to transactions which is somehting that bitcoin is based on. After all, they are offering this service and they are free to do whatever they want to. But still, downloading it separately isn't that bad either.

The crypto declaring law in the us is completely absurd. There is in my opinion no way that they can check any of your belongings to see whether you have bitcoin or not, because it's just not possible... There are infinite amount of ways that you can hide your recovery seed/private key, which only you know. But Chipmixer's idea of having a 2-2 multisig is brilliant as well. Some skeptism on reddit i see right now but i think security of my funds aren't really a concern with chipmixer.

Thank you for the update.

I think that the fact that you are able to use it at all is great, on Electrum. At least user has an option to download it just like an extention/plugin on the google chrome webstore, which is better than not having anything at all.

Website makeover again looks amazing. One thing's for sure - your devs don't get paid enough! Tongue

Will definitely be back for more news.

It would be still good news if it won't be added in plugin since it can be still installed in new version but separately it would be still a great news..
That we can use more easily to mix with electrum..
Hope that they can release it fast i'll be willing to test it since i really looking for a good wallet that has a mixer for a long time..

Hmm, i don't think that chipmixer is really breaking any sort of law. Because all it is is essentially giving you chips with preset values in bitcoin to compensate for the bitcoins that you send to the service. It's a simple concept, and dont think that it's breaking any laws. It's just like swapping a $100 note for multiple $10 ones, $20 ones, or any mixture of both.

I mean, if they can get it installed by default then it's great because bitcoin needs more privacy, but if not, that's fine too. Just happy that it works at all on electrum.

Thank you dev for the excellent work, as always!

I will be using the mixer soon. For privacy reasons, once I use it, I'll let some time pass before coming back and updating the post with my thoughts on the mixer. I don't personally use Electrum, so I cannot give any feedback on it. If I get the chance, however, I will try out the Telegram bot and report back on how smooth it goes. I admit I am surprised by the responsiveness and the development speed of the devs of this project. The interaction with the community is one of the reasons why I happen to trust this more than other projects going around.

I was planning to try the mixer out this week but transaction fees right now are stupidly high. I will probably hold off until Saturday-Sunday when the fees are around 6 times lower and then report back. From what I have seen in actual practice, however, I am wondering what is the session key for? If I deposit bitcoin but lose the session key, what happens to the money?

At the least one of the advantages is that using the "chips" gets rid of transaction fees on the way out, which given the high fees currently, is quite beneficial.

I honestly haven't seen the previous layout since I'm new to Chipmixer, but damn the simplicity of the current layout sure is sexy!

I can't speak for the usability though, since I haven't used it. But it definitely looks very promising.

Well, i can assure you that the design is a whole lot better compared to the last generation of site design. Last one was clean as well, and surprisingly simple, but this one makes the site look way more slick.

1. Why not try it out now? There is absolutely no reason to delay your trial run because transactions fees aren't going to be lower until a scaling solution like segwit comes past. I have never heard of the fee be 6x lower on weekends either...
2. Session key is essentially your username and password. If you lose your session key, you're going to lose access to your funds. Chipmixer can't help you with this either.
3. You're missing the point. Chips on the way out will still incur transaction fees if you sweep or send bitcoin to other people. It is extremely unlikely that you would want to hold the private keys, because after all there is counterparty risk. The point of chipmixer is not to save on tx fees but rather a way to provide more privacy to the btc network.

About #1, if you don't believe me, try sending out a transaction on a Sunday. I've had transactions be confirmed within the hour at only 40 sat/b which comes out to around $0.20 worth of transaction fees in contrast to sometime like today when the fee is around 300 sat/b. It all depends on the mempool load, which happens to be lower during weekends. That being said, I still think a scaling solution is a must for Bitcoin, but that's outside the scope of this thread.

About #3, yes, you are right that if you wanted to keep holding that BTC it would be obviously better to sweep the the addresses given to you rather than keeping the private keys. However, imagine a situation in which you want to mix and spend right away. You could spend using the private keys they give you and only have to pay the fee twice (once for mixing, another one for spending) while with any other mixer you would have to pay 3 times (for mixing, receiving, and spending). This obviously varies depending on which mixer we are comparing to, but ChipMixer is certainly one of the better ones in this regard.

You have your reason for saying that because sometimes too I have made some transactions as well while some confirms faster than the other but I just couldn't linked if its related to less traffic on the network during weekend but I guess I will have to try this as well. I feel there is need for the issue of fees to be sorted so people will be more encourage to use more of chip mixer service.

I used chipmixer a few days ago and I got tricked, after sending my coins I got 3 small chips with the promise of merging them to get a big chip but the merging button wasn't working then I had to pay fees 3 times with one time of my main deposit, literally I lost 20% of my coins just paying fees. lol

Fees are quite low currently if your wallet lets you set a custom fee.  As you can see here, even transactions with fees of <50 satoshi/byte are expected to confirm in about six hours, which is fine if you're sending overnight or online with low priority (e.g. to a friend).

I used chipmixer a few days ago and I got tricked, after sending my coins I got 3 small chips with the promise of merging them to get a big chip but the merging button wasn't working then I had to pay fees 3 times with one time of my main deposit, literally I lost 20% of my coins just paying fees. lol
Chipmixer does not have fees - you pay what you want to.  You should contact support.

I think you have a point but i think alternative one can be still help in the new version can be still installed separately that we can be still use the mixer with the wallet..

I used chipmixer a few days ago and I got tricked, after sending my coins I got 3 small chips with the promise of merging them to get a big chip but the merging button wasn't working then I had to pay fees 3 times with one time of my main deposit, literally I lost 20% of my coins just paying fees. lol
If the merging button is not working i think there is a bug you should contact the support or wait for the reply of your post here.

I honestly haven't seen the previous layout since I'm new to Chipmixer, but damn the simplicity of the current layout sure is sexy!

I can't speak for the usability though, since I haven't used it. But it definitely looks very promising.

The earlier template was not so attractive, it was a very simple template. For people whoever visit first time to any site, the first impression should be very good, but it was not there earlier, but not it is very elegant and looks professional.
