Blockchain.info wallet implemented "priority" and "regular" fee. Last night I sent $200 worth with $8 fee and it got confirmed in 1.5 hrs.

Do you think it's fair with the transaction you did with them? $8 fee is a very big amount and 1.5 hours isn't that fast with that fee.

I will guess that it is a priority fee, I've been using blockchain.info with their regular and recommended fee.

I haven't tried to adjust the fees and there's no problem to me, it's not even getting delayed for so many hours just like others are complaining.
I am pretty sure that it depends on how fast the person needs the money by because spending a more than a couple of dollars just so another person can get the money is not really a smart thing to do if the person can wait for it. I would spend less than a dollar for the transaction and the transaction would get confirmed within twenty four hours and I don’t have to worry on someone not receiving the money in time.

To be honest, have to agree that 4% fee for that amount of money is very expensive for 1.5 hours! Western Union and Paypal get it there in a minute for almost the same fee, actually, less... I don't mind 24 hours or even 72 hours when I get payment. But it's too bad some sites have expiry on deposit time.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Yezzir. It's cool to send a snail fee when I'm moving money between wallets, but if I have to pay a time sensitive address nowadays, I'm too scared not to max out the fees; the risk of having it confirm too late, and the PITA that is trying to explain to support what happened to your bitcoin payment Wink same with moving money between exchanges, now a days I'm pretty much gonna convert it to Doge or LTC, just to ensure timely receipt (let me tell you about another PITA, watching the price sink while waiting for confirmations at an exchange Wink )

You have to use high fees or your transaction won't get confirmations or there is another chanse, you need to have access on f2pool's or other pool's transaction accelerator or have to be a big miner or so luckier to add transaction in viabtc which is very difficult now because it's already limited instantly.
Fees are low only when you send high amount of bitcoins, on another hand currently low fees are words what wr know from past.

For me it depends what I do, if I'm sending a small amount then I use low fees, if I'm sending a large amount I tend to use higher fees.

It obviously depends more than just on the raw amount, some purchases are time sensitive so it really depends on what I intend to do with that money but I'm not wasteful so unless I need it fast I use lower fees.

I'm using transactions with low fees only and mostly with NO fees. In my own experience on my online wallet, even with no fees, the transactions will only need half a day to be successful. I'm not in a hurry anyway. But I think it still depends n the urgency of need. If I urgently need to send the bitcoin, I wouldn't mind even if I will pay a high fee on a reasonable price.

Default minimum network fees for the transaction has been increased to 0.0009 btc for a each transaction in online wallets such as Coinbase, block chain and etc... Even localbitcoins wallet transaction fees has been increased.
Now, I move to mycelium for making transaction rapidly and for saving I am using block chain wallet.

Well im not using big fees at all, all my transactions has been made with 50-65k satoshis those are taking a few more hours then the usual time when there werent the delays at the blockchain, since im not in rush to get and make the transactions i can wait, but doesnt make sense to pay a premium fee to make my transactions.

It is the second to the highest of the transaction fee if I'm not wrong, because the transaction fee is depends on the wallet that you are using. I'm using Electrum wallet and the transaction fee that I'm paying is 0.002 if I'm not wrong, and if you are paying high amount of transaction fee, then expect that you are going to have fast transaction, that is why I'd prefer to pay high than the other way around just to have convenient transaction.

In my opinion 50k satoshi fees are already high. If you refer to a transaction last few months ago that might only around minutes to be confirmed. I think that this is becoming a crisis already. Merchants will get bankrupt if this continues and became more worse

I would aslo prefer to use low fees even if it takes a long time because since I don't need that money immediately. Compared in recent fees today is much higher and I think it is because of the hiking price of bitcoin.

Well although am not using high fees because the fact is i'm using my poloniex account to send some BTC. Upon as what am using poloniex is becuase they just have small fees (10k sats). And the best is it's too easy and not taking too long to confirmed it.

there is a big different before bitcoin price was pretty high currently i have to think about the fees too because to get fast confirmations i have to spend more bitcoin indeed that was very burdensome but as the bitcoiners i have to accept this however some people recommend for the current fees might be not less than 200 sat/B

Sometimes when I withdraw BTC to my wallet, I set really low fees like 50-70 satoshi per byte and wait for weeks, because I'm not going to spend those coins in the near future anyway. I think it's a good way to save a bit of money, because if you look back, you might realize that your fees have added up to a big amount in USD value, while it wasn't always necessary to get those coins confirmed asap.
So, do you use low fees, or always want to get confirmation in a next few blocks?

For this particular transaction, https://blockchain.info/tx/c7c8fcfe061cb44a2c44de54a055862c8e97c3f7a7184f3087bed74e18c5d328

Blockchain recommended a fee of 0.0038, I just sent it with 47 sat/B and got it confirmed with ViaBTC within couple of hours. If it is not an emergency transaction, using a fee of 0.0002 BTC is enough to get it confirmed eventually.

Now the current situation has forced some wallets and exchanges to setup a fixed minimum or standard fee, up to 0.003, equivalent of $8, users who want to withdraw small amounts would not agree with these fees . Kraken has just increased their fee to 0.0025 and now I have altogether stopped using Xapo. Glad there are still exchanges in India with a fixed fee of 0.0005 and fast confirmations.

No I am using Blockchain wallet, and its fees aren't low, it is somehow high , but I am ok with it because the transaction get confirmed in short amount of time , so no problem even if the fee is high.

Unless I really do not want to use the money soon, because currently with something below 100s/b you won't get confirmed in a while (and few days ago, never), and the TX might even get cleared and then you need to rebroadcast it, I mean unless it's absolutely cold storage, that's not a good idea.

Yes, I am using low fee, because I usually send a small amount of Bitcoin so that paying 1$ just for sending 5$ is something really weird.
I know miners have to take fees to earn their living but I have no choice so that I have to send Bitcoin with low fee

I am using low fee because as normal, It does not effect to my transactions, it is still confirmable.
But when I send a bigger amount of Bitcoin, I usually use a bigger fee because I need to make sure that my transactions are confirmed well.

As long as your bitcoin received than it doesn't matter. I don't use small fees, just a sufficient amount to get my transaction confirmed but normal fees still have to wait for several days due too many unconfirmed transaction on waiting list. Well, I don't mind to pay 120-200 satoshi per byte, but some people suggest to increase fees until 220 satoshi.
