Are you using low fees?

Last time I used normal fees was quite long ago. In the last few months, I always use fees hefty enough for next block confirmation, mainly because when I spend Bitcoins, I spend them to buy something and next block confirmation are always welcome in these cases.

Using low fees will only gives us a problem  because  of being delay in the transaction that
 we are going to do. So right now, since I learn from my mistakes but of course I now I set it to highes fees so that it will
be fast.

It is really not a problem if you would not use it right away like OP said but the definition of low fee now can be considered high in the old days. I personally use low fees to transfer bitcoin when I am not in the hurry. Setting it to the highest fee is not always the solution though for a slow transaction. Sometimes, a 0.0005 BTC or 0.001 BTC fee is enough to get transactions confirmed in no time.

I did experience to wait for almost 20 hours before my transaction gets confirmed because the fee is only 0.0002 BTC. I have seen people paying .001-0.002BTC just for their confirmation gets faster. People that pay for a huge transaction to get confirmed is the ones that should be paying because they are doing business with large sums of money. I wouldn’t want to make money and wait a bunch of hours when spending $7 for some transaction fee. I am pretty sure that people will have another type of method of spending Bitcoin pretty soon. Since Ethereum is getting more famous, the people that use it will try to use it to spend Bitcoin instead of waiting for their transaction to get confirmed?

No lower fees your transaction. Your transaction will get deprioritized by the blockchain. But it depends on the traffic on the bitcoin network. The more unconfirmed transaction will make the chain will be slowly to validate the transaction. If the people are in the competition to pay more and more to get their transaction to be confirmed in short time and the big competition of the fees will make your transaction fees get deprioritized and it can back to your wallet because the mempool is forgetting your transaction.

I think it's a good way to save a bit of money, because if you look back, you might realize that your fees have added up to a big amount in USD value, while it wasn't always necessary to get those coins confirmed asap.

In choosing the fee you going to use in transaction, you should consider things like your need and how you are going to used in transaction. Because the differences of each transaction fee is base on  the time or how long it will take to proceed the transaction and if you are going to used or the transaction is quite urgent it is better to used high fee with the high transaction value because it may less the amount of fee. But if you do not need the transaction is much better to use low fees in transaction and wait for conformation.

Well im not using big fees at all, all my transactions has been made with 50-65k satoshis those are taking a few more hours then the usual time when there werent the delays at the blockchain, since im not in rush to get and make the transactions i can wait, but doesnt make sense to pay a premium fee to make my transactions.

Well, I tried my luck with a low fee (~9 Sat/byte) a few weeks ago on a small transaction. Now I'm stuck with an unconfirmed and dusty transaction. Ugh! Trying to figure out how to get it unstuck is taking more time than the money was worth.

In future, I will be sticking with recommended fees. You never know when the low fee will bite you.

That is an awfully low fee, the truth is that transaction may never confirm, but at some point you are going to get that bitcoin back, but this show to use the futility of trying to use a low fee, it is a lot more problem than it is worth, you could have been better just paying the recommended fee and forget about it, instead now you need to worry about whether your transaction is going to confirm at all.

I always go with the 'high' fee to make sure the transactions gets confirmed on the chain fast. I don't like having to potentially wait for weeks like some do when using really low fees. BTC isn't suitable to move very small amounts around, the fees would just be brutal, so when I do move BTC it is usually a fair amount.

I dont use high fees i just moved my coins to another address without spending them its ok for me to not confirmed it the next block  im always not in a hurry spending my coins.

I am always using low fees because if I compare it with fiat transfer it is still faster and more practicaly.

Here the condition is also same for me ( in the most of the cases ) . I usually made  trading at yobit.net exchange more than at other exchange  , because my most of the friends are using yobit.net exchange , so here we made yobit.net code to buy sell our Bitcoin .
And the payment of the signature campaign usually send with very low priority and get confirmed after the one week ( sometimes 2 week in the last month ) .
So I don't much need to pay the fee in most cases , and making transaction free of charge , but sometimes when I needed to trade with particular coin then I need to pay high fee because of the confirmation because if I will send with low fee then it will take more time to confirm , so I needed high fee in only few case .

Yeah, default fee at times seems to be low. This has never been a issue for me till date though lot of users complaint the delay in transaction confirmation a major issue. With me, I just place increased transaction fee during the time of gambling for faster confirmation whereas for normal transactions blockchain default fee suggested is paid.

Well the real problem is ratio between fee amount and transaction size in bytes since blocks are limited in size, 1MB. It's expressed in sat/B (satoshi per byte) end you can check which value you should target on https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ because it changes over time depending on current number of unconfirmed transactions.

Not at all. You're not going to lose your bitcoin just because you picked low transaction fee. Even when it take a day or even a week before your transaction gets confirmed, it doesn't matter. The coin will always be there. The coin has nowhere else to go. My trick is to use Electrum wallet so I can rebroadcast the coin and add more fees to it (in both receiving and sending bitcoins) if the transaction is needed to get confirmed faster.

I personally always use the lowest fees but never the fees that are almost zero. Fees are important since that's how you get your transaction more prioritized than other transactions.
