I finally managed to get cgminer 3.2.1 to work with Debian 7.0 !

Her's what I did:
sudo cp cgminer-3.2.1/01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
sudo service udev restart

Now unplug and plug again the usb erupter.
Restart cgminer and it should work.

cgminer 3.2.1 no longer requires to specify the serial device, nor any icarus timing options. I also read that it should improve the hashing rate compared to 3.1.1.

Yes, 3.2.1 does improve hashrate slighty and you don't have to specify the devices or Icarus options. Sadly, with rPi, mining ends very soon and all devices are shown as zombies... works on Debian though. Waiting for new version of cgminer

Received 2 of my units today, they are working great on raspberrypi with minepeon Smiley
They working just out of the box? You do not need anything to upgrade? Can you explain more please:)

1. plug the miner into a powered usb hub
2. configure pools on the web interface of minepeon.
3. modify   /usr/lib/systemd/system/bfgminer.service add this to start options "--icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S /dev/ttyUSB0 -S /dev/ttyUSB1" (this is for 2 devices)
4.reload systemctl : systemctl daemon-reload
5.start bfgminer : systemctl start bfgminer
6.maybe cgminer was started automaticaly, stop it : systemctl stop cgminer.service

I was having trouble getting my pi to run.  I tried all the editing, demon reloading and everything, no dice.

I noticed there was a new version of MinePeon dated 7/6/13, so I re-wrote my SD card with it.  It worked straight away with no editing, just the pool addresses.  I assume it is running cgminer as it says it is loaded in the scrolling startup text.

http://mineforeman.com/minepeon/ has the download link for the "Erupter Bob" version.  "Butterfly Bob" didn't work for me.

Hi Augusto

Are you in a position to place the order for the third batch tomorrow as originally expected?

Not entirely sure why the second batch was restricted to 80 units as the original indication was that anyone ordering and paying before 03-Jun-2013, but assuming you have good reasons for it. Just hoping the third batch doesn't fall through due to lack of sufficient interest/payments..

Thanks

Yes, I am preparing to order the remaining units to close Trader's Book.

I am working to finish this trade as best as possible.

Let's hope a good outcome.

Keep tuned in.

Do you mind sharing what make/model USB hub you used?

I got a couple of these www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280840301713 - there are many sellers on Ebay with identical looking ones, so don't take that as an endorsement. The PSU is supposed to be 1A, but mine had 2A printed on them, but I bought a 4A one to go with it as I didn't trust them (they are very light weight adaptors).  It is a 2.1mm jack for the power on the hub.

I am in the process of moving everything onto a standard PC PSU, having made some Molex to 2.1mm jack adaptors last night. The 5V rail is 17A on my PSU, and I can plug my fan into the Molex plugs instead of having it tapped into my PC.

Bob

*edit: Don't forget to isolate the 5v pin between the host PC/RPi (and each hub if you use more than 1).  Some versions of the RPi have a resettable fuse built into the USB socket, but your RPi could try to draw its 700ma from the USB hub if you don't isolate it and don't have its power plugged in.  I use a 2-3mm wide strip of paper sellotaped onto the USB connector going inside to cover the 5v pin between each hub.  My external PSUs are different ratings, and I don't think they will balance the load if they are connected in parallel through the 2 hubs.  I can show a pic of the paper trick if you don't get it from my description.
